The Fair Employment Practices Act of 1941 is an order prohibiting racial discrimination by all

federal agencies, unions, and companies engaged in war-related work. It also established the
Fair Employment Practices Commission to ensure the order was carried out.

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is an order that prohibits discrimination against
people with disabilities in several areas, including employment, transportation, public
accommodations, communications, and access to state and local government programs and
services.

The reason why it is important to familiarize yourself with these acts is that then you’ll know that
you are able to stand a fair chance of getting the job just like everyone else or if you are an
employer looking for an employee it will protect your business from lawsuits or ensure that your
employees and customers are protected.

The three things that would be illegal for an employer to ask would be religion, sexual
orientation, and gender identity.
