The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is an enterprise information


system designed to integrate and optimize the business processes and transactions in a
corporation. The ERP is an industry-driven concept and systems, and is universally
accepted by businesses and organizational industries as a practical solution to achieve an
integrated enterprise information system solution. The ERP system facilitates the smooth
flow of common functional information and practices across the entire organization.
Thus, it improves the performance of the supply chain and reduces the cycle times

2: When does Vinamilk Need ERP?


_Vinamilk’s activities prior to ERP implementation:
In the 90’s Vinamilk's business and production management activities still using
old platforms like Foxpro or Excel as management tools and directly affects the
operations of the organization
First, The process of managing input and output goods is also completely manual,
which leads to enormous number excess inventory while output is consumed too slowly
as follows the unsatisfied performance of workers and machines

Seccond, Since each department uses different management software, when it is


necessary to transfer data between departments, users have to do it manually. This results
in asynchronous data, which can be lost and difficult to control

=>Consequently, vinamilk’s board leaders had developed a solution to counter these


problems by using ERP system

_ERP helps vinamilk operate precisely and avoids accounting risks with the
methodical decentralization, and the financial and accounting tasks are much more
favorable than before
_The company's warehouse management, distribution, business administration,
customer relations and production have been better managed by the company,
significantly reducing the risk and flexibility between business and distribution. Tracking
functions proceed in real time
_The qualifications of IT staff at Vinamilk have been improved. IT infrastructure
is consolidated, synchronized and standardized
_Organizational structure of the Vinamilk, beside improving employee's
knowledge, the system has responded well to the needs of users. Management becomes
centralized, thorough, inherited and timely
