Logistics:

Deadlines: Deadlines are something that are set to make sure that the film and production crew are working at
a steady and efficient pace to make sure that everything is going to be ready in time for the editors to be
working on it and to make sure that they have the correct amount of money because if they overrun then they
will have to find more money somewhere and then they will have to owe more money to the people that they
are borrowing from and this will lead them to be more in debt and the film will have to be delayed because
they have not reach the deadline that they have been set.

Availability of Equipment: The availability of equipment means what equipment is available for the film
production to rent out or buy. This means that before the production company decides to make their film the
they need to check the availability of equipment that is available for them. This shows that they need to do
their research because if they are unable to make the date that they want to stat filming because they don’t
have the equipment available for them then they need to push the shoot back to a date when they are able to
get the equipment so it all relies on the company that they are renting from and if they are able to get the stuff
that they want and need.

Availability of Personnel: The availability of personnel is what crew members and actors are available to be
able to shoot on a certain day. So, before they release a schedule then they need to makes sure that they have
the correct availability for that day in the shoot. For example, if they only need one actor for that certain shoot
day they can then reduce the crew that need to be working that day so they are able to reduce the crew and
then the next shoot they can work around the actors that they need so that they can keep filming and make
sure that it is efficient.

Timescales: The time scales are something that is set by the director and means that he has set a certain
amount of time that he wants to spend shooting that scene and roughly how long it should take for them to
finish the shoot. This is basically the director’s deadline because he has estimated how long they need to
spend on that scene before they move on and start shooting something else if they don’t meet this time then
the film will be further delayed until they have finished leading to money and finance being lost.

The production Equipment is something that they need to make the film and what they will be using when it
comes to shoot day and they will have to identify if they have the correct equipment that is required to make
the film for example if they have the correct cameras and lighting to make the film and that there is no delays
when it comes to shooting because all the equipment must be there and available for them to use because if
they are missing a certain piece of equipment then they will have to trace the equipment for shoot day and
make sure that it is all there so there are no delays and that they don’t have to break into more money and go
into more debt. The when it comes to post production equipment they need to make sure that they have all
the correct editing software and all the shots that they have made so that they can edit all the scenes together
quickly and make sure that they make the film work and when it is together it ends up being the final product
that they want and that the film production is satisfied with the work that has been created. However before it
goes to the editors then they need to make sure that they have made all the scenes in the area that they have
wanted so when it comes to facilities they could go to a facility house and rent out a room so when they want
a certain scene and they can’t rent it out they can design the scene however and make it the room/ area that
they want it to look like. The prop house is something that the film crew can visit so they can select the props
that they want so they are able to go and select the products that they want., rent them out and use this until
they are done with them then go and return them to the prop house that they took them from. When the
production comes to sourcing and costs of facilities they will need to find either a new investor or set up a new
crowd funding because they will need to make sure that they have the right amount of money because they
need to pay for the props for as long as they use them and then when it comes to the facility they need to pay
for as many days as they are there so if they are running over schedule and delayed then they need to pay for
the days that they overrun for and this may cost them double because they are using time that they have not
rented out.
When it comes to the location that the film crew are filming in they need to make sure that they know where
the area is that they are working in and what is in and around the area like landmarks so that if anyone is lost
they are able to point out a landmark and tell them that they are around that area and this will help the crew
member or actor get there and make sure that they don’t get lost in the future when they return to the
shooting scene. When it comes to the recess part of the shoot they should make sure that it is suitable to be
taking all the crews there and that it is a safe location to keep all the equipment there and that all the camera
crew and actors are safe at all time. A location that I have chosen is Liverpool Street this is an easy location to
get to due to the train station and the tube being available. The location is a safe location due to it being called
on of the safest places in London so the crew and actors are able to walk around on their own and not having
to worry about getting into trouble. There are a few limitations when it comes to this area one of them being
that you can get lost easily due to all the side roads but if you stay on the main road then you will be able to
find your way around easily and identify the area that you need to be in there are not many risks to this area as
it is a safe area and has been named one of the safest places in London so the crew will be able to feel safe and
not have to worry about anything.

Technical Crews are a vital part of the programme when it comes to making a film because without them if a
piece of equipment breaks then they will be able to be on sight and fix it rather than having to wait for the
correct people to come and fix it because you might break it further and will risk spending more money. The
technical crews also help with setting up scenes and shooting scenes so they are professionals and know what
they need to do when they are working with you. The actors are the most important part of the whole
operation because without them then the film will never be able to be shot because they are the face of the
show and what helps sell the film so with the correct actor acting on your film then your production will make
a lot of money because they are selling the film by showing what great actors they really are. When it comes to
extras they are there to either say only one or two lines or to fill up the scene so extras need to be able to
follow instructions and be in the scene as they are told to be otherwise the scene will just look bland because
there may only be 1-2 actors in the scene so the extras help fill up the scene. The contributors are people that
either help set up a scene or they will contribute money to help make the film better. This means that they are
further help and assistance to the director so if they need more money then they will donate and contribute
their services to the production crew.

With materials it is slightly more complicated because when it comes to the editing then the editors will need
all the raw materials that have been shot and all the original audio so that they are able to edit the short film
and make it as good as they can with all the raw materials that they have bee provided with. When it comes to
the archive and library film making the producer needs to tell the editor everything that he wants to be
implemented into the film and what bits to save and what bits that they need to cut out. They also need to be
able to implement the script just in case someone wants to read the script and see how the film was shot
exactly.
