2. How to use the first option to create RFC (Destination name).


UME provider service:

This is used to change the LoginId and Passwd parameter

Eg: min length of passwd:


Max length of passwd:

Loging to visual admin tool

Path: /usr/sap/<VNW>/DVMBGS00/j2ee/admin
>go.bat or go.sh to run the visual admin tool.
Connect to default database:

Proved loginId and passwd


Goto server->service->
Select UME provider service
Select the given properties…
Change the value…(5 -> 7) and click on UPDATE
Note : the message will be displayed to restart the server node for changes to take effect;
Click ok and come out.

To restart the server, rt.click on server node and choose Reboot


Choose yes to continue….
You will get the following message
Login again by using “ connect to default database:
Proved loginId and passwd to login again:
To verify the change has been taken place

2. Security Provider service

Goto Security provider service:


Goto Usermanagement , In the name space give the name of user and click on search
You can see all the user details on the right hand side:
To make any changes click on change “logo/button”
Note: For standalone java engine we can change the passwd, but for integrated system
this functionality is disabled.

2. Jco RFC provider services:

In visual admin tool, goto service…


Select Jco RFC provider service…It will display the current RFC to the backend system.
To create a new Jco RFC connection between J2ee & Abap proved the details in the right
hand side table as given below:

1. Program Name: Name of RFC


2. Gateway host: J2ee engine host
3. Gateway service: J2ee engine service
4. Server count : No.

Repositorty:

Specific Application server:

(choose this option to create an RFC between different system)

Provide the following details;

1. Application server host: Target host name.


2. System no: Target system no[00]
3. Client: Target client [001]
4. Language: [EN]
5. User: [DDIC}
6. Passwd: [********]

- A new RFC will be displayed with the program name and other information

It will be in running state if all the information provided is correct, other wise in stop
state, ( we will change system no and then check the status)
