EXPERIENCE

AVID TECHNOLOGY, INC.

Vice President, Corporate Development 2008 - 2013
 Spearheaded global efforts to identify strategic opportunities to help drive growth and bring long-term
success to Avid and its customers.
 Drove multi-disciplinary efforts to research, acquire and integrate target companies. The acquisitions
added disruptive technologies to Avid’s products and moved the company into important emerging
market segments.
 Led strategic review that focused Avid on professional and enterprise customers and divested consumer
products. The divested product lines had accounted for 31% of annual orders processed but only 14% of
revenue. Combined with a simultaneous restructuring, reduced headcount by 20% and generated
approximately $80 million in annualized savings.
 Orchestrated annual strategy planning offsite among Avid’s executive management and board of directors.
Clarified priorities and execution of key corporate initiatives to fill product gaps and expand opportunities.
 Led Alliances team which manages Avid’s 600+ partners. Team saved $2M in annual spend from royalty
reduction efforts on inbound licenses.
 Developed Avid’s M&A program articulating a framework for evaluating opportunities. Authored
handbook that detailed acquisition stages and processes: strategy development, researching, sourcing and
screening opportunities, diligence and valuation of targets, and integration of companies.
 Managed investment banking relationships including evaluation, selection and management for multiple
buyside and sellside efforts as well as all inbound inquiries and acquisition opportunities from bankers.
 Designed and implemented Avid’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program with emphasis on
identifying strategic risk across the company. Aggregating risks raised by each functional area enabled the
leadership team to reevaluate product portfolio, sourcing strategies, and capital strategy.
