The defection should be equalto 1.5 mm per 100 mm ofthe unsupported belt span. To improve tensioning accuracy, the drive should be run briefly to properly seat the belt Atl east one sheave should be freelyrctating duringthe tensioningprocedure. MAINTENANCE OF V-BELTS : * Donctuse belts of different makein arnultiple drive. * Sheaves should be free from burrs, sharp edges, rust, oil & grease. All the dimensions should confirm to standards, Ensure perfect alignment of shaft 7 pulleys. * Keeptake up rails free from dust, rust& check the bearingsfor oll * For optimum output fom a \-belt, itis imperative to maintain proper tension in a belt. Give the belts some runningtime to be seatedin the grooves of the sheave. Readustthe take up ifnecessery. * Ensure proper installation & take up allowances when designing a drive. The belts should never be forced ona drive. SUGGESTIONS FOR BETTER SERVICES : + Belts should be storedin a cool &dly place. * Avoidplacing the belts on the floor, near windows, nearradiators. * Belts should be hung on racks. Avoid storing the belts in heavy bend conditions. * Donot expose the beltsto direct sunlight. © Keepthe belts away from oil, grease & dust.
