phones should be banned in class or not. On the one hand, some argue that banning
phones in class can help students to remove distractions so they can focus on the
things that they need to learn during class. On the other hand, however, others argue
that banning phones from school will decrease students’ engagement in class. My
own view is that cellphones can be a huge distraction for students’ learning.
Nowadays, almost every student has their smartphones, so it is hard for schools to
deal with smartphones in the classroom. A study from the journal of Educational
Psychology acknowledges that students who are allowed to use smart phone without
students who don’t. Student’s responsibility is to learn things at school and then
apply the things that they have learned in their daily life. I wonder if they do not pay
attention to their teacher during class how they can achieve better scores or are
capable to do more things? Richard Freed quotes, “Teenagers use smart phones for
too long often have a detrimental effect on achievement, because they see phones
students seem that phone can be a great distraction than students who are good at
studying. When students do not know what they are learning during class, they will
feel bored easily and then do other things, such as drawing or using their phones.
Jamie Brook, the co-founder of Kahoot, argues that researchers are mistaken
because they overlook the harmful effects of using smartphones in class. She
emphasizes that using phone in class can provide a better learning experience for
students. It may be true; however, it is a hard task for schools to set guidelines for
