Explain unauthorized excavation and give specifications for unauthorized


excavation.
Unauthorized excavation is the digging of ground or surface beyond or lower
than the required or necessary ground level, it is because the excavating process might
hit something such as pipeline underneath it. Unauthorized excavation surface levels
are lower than the sub-grade levels required for work, or where excess or authorized
excavation takes place beyond the indicated lines and grades, the contractor shall fill
the indicated line and grade at his expense under the following conditions:
A. Where the footings and foundations occur, use concrete fill of the same class as
specified for footings and foundations.
B. Where slabs occur, use a well compacted sand and gravel fill.

2. Give the three types of termite control chemicals and explain each.

A. Liquid Termite Concentrate – This type of termite control chemical or toxicant


is mixed with liquid commonly with water, it is use by pouring it on the soil
before building the foundation. This type of toxicant shall be specified for
drenching soil beneath foundations of the propose buildings. The concentrate
shall be diluted with water in the proportion of 1 liter of concentrate material to
65 liters of water or as specified by the manufacturer.

B. Liquid Termicide Ready Mixed Solution – This type of termite control chemical
is to be used on woods. This type of toxicants which comes in ready mixed
solution shall be used as wood preservative by drenching wood surfaces to the
point of run-off.

C. Powder Termicide – This type of toxicant is powder type use on visible houses
and tunnels of termites. This type of toxicant shall be applied to visible or
suspected subterranean termite mounds and tunnels where termites are
exterminated through Trophallaxes or exchange method or nourishment
between termites while greeting each other upon meeting.
