My name is Maryrose Mbah I 

work at a Home Medical equipment facility, I am a

single mom with three beautiful children. I am here to get my associate degree in Nursing.
Reading helped me improve my grammar, I read a lot as a teenager and to my kids when they
were young. I fell off the band wagon when I became a workaholic trying to give my kids a better
life. 
When I started Eng.1201 class, I was scared of all the writing that come with it because I
don’t like writing especially one that includes researching for sources. I guess all academic
paper need citing sources to prevent plagiarism. I give kudos to all my classmates for a very
productive interactive class.
I expect to improve my general skills in writing and thought processes as the class
progresses, and to communicate effectively with my classmates and co-workers. This class will
help me as a nurse to understand and utilize critical and creative thinking in communicating with
my clients from different background.
As this class progresses, I learned a lot from different examples introduced by the
professor, and the feedback received from our professor and class mates helped me to produce
a strong paper. I envisioned problem with finding sources for my research paper but my
professor made it easy by having a Librarian help us navigate the search from Sinclair Library.
The difficulty I encountered while writing my paper was organization, editing and grammar
check, it took time to get my paper where I want it.
The most important thing I accomplished from this class was my understanding of the
different rhetoric, audiences and visual uploading. Choosing a research topic was easy but I
struggled with the thesis statement. This is the first time I wrote a research paper, it’s something
I look forward to apply to my other classes, work and projects. I put in a lot of effort in this class
based on it I expect to have an A+ or A.

I have two papers uploaded on this blog, one is my research paper on sleep deprivation
in adolescents which is a topic dear to my heart, I experienced this behavior with my daughter
and it’s increasing in the world mostly due to technology. Something needs to be done to help
teens and young adults get a quality sleep and live a quality and productive life. My second
paper is on visual analysis, this is a write up I did in psychology class about edgework. I like the
edgework assignment because it helps us identify our strength and weaknesses and how to
improve on it. Most people live on the edge they can take on anything while some are scared
(like me) to try risky behaviors or new things especially, things that will take them to the edge.

I hope you enjoy reading my paper and hopefully, use the remedies provided to help one
