Seminar Reflection for 06 May 2021

Today was the final seminar class for my journey in the Nursing Informatics graduate

program here at the University of San Diego. I never thought this day would come, but on the

other hand, I am a bit sad by the way it has ended. I know that it is a positive thing, and we (I)

have graduated from a great university with such an excellent reputation throughout California. I

started this journey to get my master’s degree in Nursing Informatics, a profession within the

nursing realm that I have been following for some time now. I also did it for my kids. I wanted

them to see that it does not matter your age or your plight in life; they can change any negative

trajectory that they may currently be on for a more suitable road that fits their desires and wants

for their lives. I believe that I have accomplished both things over the last couple of years, but

again with some sadness.

I liked to thank all the professors in the Hahn School of Nursing that, I believe, knew

when I was getting a bit overwhelmed with work-life, COVID-19, and schoolwork that would

either say something to me or email me to check-in. I think these attributes displayed to me by

my professors got me through this extremely tough year. I know that these displays of kindness

also helped several of my classmates as well. I can say that it has been an outstanding ride for the

last two years, and I am thankful to everyone that helped to get me here.
