GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR COLOUR CALIBRATION
SET‐UP
1. Model Name MX2600N – MX3100N
2. Description This is a Colour Calibration procedure to allow the MFP to perform at the best level of copy
quality for the product. The procedure should be followed in order. It is split into three levels,
black should be performed after every call, black and blue should be performed after a
preventative maintenance call and black blue and red should be performed if a problem still
exists.
Black: All call procedure
Blue: After preventative maintenance
Red: If there are still problems with CQ
3. Tools Required
SERVICE MANUAL
INSTALLATION MANUAL
MONDI COLOUR COPY PAPER A3 100g/m²
IMAGE DENSITY SENSOR CALIBRATION JIG UKOG‐0318FCZZ
SHARP COLOUR TEST CHART UKOG‐0317FC11
SIT CHART UKOG‐0280FCZ1
SHARP GREY CHART UKOG‐0162FCZZ
4. Procedure 1. Ensure that the MFP is at the latest level of firmware according to Sharp (UK) Technical website
(SIM 22‐05)
2. Ensure all Process Voltages for DV Bias, Main Charge Grid Voltage and Transfer Voltage are set
to the correct values (ADJ.4)
3. Execute simulation 22‐06 and ensure on page 2 all settings in SIM 46‐01 and SIM 46‐02 are set
to default 50, also ensure that SIM 46‐10, SIM46‐16 and SIM 46‐21 are default to 500 (If these
have been adjusted they can be reset after calibration)
4. Clean all mirrors, glass, lens, white reference plate and CCD in optics cavity
5. Use image density sensor calibration jig and execute SIM 44‐13 as per service manual (ADJ.5a)
6. Perform black image density sensor and image registration sensor adjustment by executing
SIM 44‐02 as per service manual (ADJ.5b)
7. Perform black LSU skew adjustment (SIM 61‐04) as per service manual (ADJ.6)

8. Perform Drum Phase/Image Registration/Colour Laser Skew adjustment by executing SIM 50‐
22 and selecting ALL (ADJ.7)
9. Execute SIM 44‐27, clearing half tone process control correction values
10. Execute SIM 44‐06, forced execution of process control
11. Execute SIM 44‐26, forced execution of half tone image correction
12. Calibrate the CCD array by using the SIT chart and executing SIM 63‐03 (ADJ.20A)
13. Ensure good quality A3 colour copy paper is in the machine and perform Auto Colour
Calibration by executing SIM 46‐74 (This simulation performs both the engine and printer
calibration simultaneously).
14. Place the printed colour patch test page (Figure 1) face down on the glass so that the fine
lines are on the left hand side, then lay 5 sheets of clean A3 paper on top of the test page.
Select “FACTORY” method when calibrating. The copy colour balance adjustment is
automatically executed and prints the colour balance check page (Figure 2). Check for defects,
if OK continue to step 15, if not fault find and rectify.

15. Select “Execute” again, this time the Printer calibration patch test page (Figure 3) will be
printed. Place face down on the glass so that the fine lines are on the left hand side, then lay 5
sheets of clean A3 paper on top of the test page. Select “FACTORY” method when calibrating.
The copy colour balance adjustment is automatically executed and prints the colour balance
check page (Figure 4). Check for defects, if OK select OK, if not fault find and rectify. Colour
calibration is now complete.
