A time you missed an important appointment for something

You should say

When and where it happened
What the appointment was for
What happened when you missed it
And explain how you felt about the appointment

I missed one of the most important appointments of my life when I was in my

last year of the graduation.

I was doing a live project with one of the biggest mobile and wireless service
providers where I had to study their marketing strategy and based on my
study and research I’d to make and report and present in front of the jury. As
a part of this project, I wanted to meet their marketing manager to discuss
their marketing strategies and my project. After a long wait and constant
follow-ups, their marketing manager Ms. Shivangi Chopra could manage to
spare sometime for me and she scheduled my appointment.

I still remember that day. I got up early and got ready for my meeting so that
I can reach at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. As soon as I
stepped out, to my horror, I saw my next door neighbour’s 5 years old son fell
down from the first floor balcony. A chill ran down my spine and I couldn’t
understand what I should do. It was a fatal accident and kid was badly
injured. His mom was so paralyzed with fear; that she could not command
her legs to run. I immediately called an ambulance and took him to the
nearest hospital. I informed his father and I remained at the hospital till he
came. Due to this emergency situation, I totally forgot about my appointment
and I missed my big day.

I felt so bad that I missed my much awaited opportunity to meet the

marketing manager of this giant corporation. Even now, after all these years,
I regret that I could not make it to my appointment  but it was inevitable. My
personal disappointment is there, but despite of this regret I have a
satisfaction that because of my immediate actions I could save one life that
was more important and precious than my appointment.
