Al-Cu-Si General Purpose Casting Alloy

Alloy 238.0 is a standard general purpose Al-Si-Cu alloy (Table 1) Weldability


used for high hardness in the as-cast condition, good casting characteris-
tics, and good machinability. Applications include examples in the
marine and durable goods area; the sole plate for hand irons is one. Typ- Aluminum alloy 238.0 has limited weldability in arc welding with gas
