MOLDING YOUTH FOR THE FUTURE

On the first day of May, I had the opportunity to attend a youth forum led by Ms.
Nikki Jerusalem, titled "The Role of Patriotic Youth in Nation-Building." The event began
with a hymn performance, accompanied by the Philippine National Anthem, a discussion
of the rules, and finally the introduction of the speakers, who are the most important
people in the event. Hon. Lorenzo A. Clavejo, Ms. Rica Jareen D. Maravilla, Dr. Robert
S. Kittel, Dr. Edgar T. Tanate, and Mr. Jude Montifar are among the five speakers. The
aim of the event was to demonstrate that we, the youth, can contribute to the betterment
of our country. But the main idea is they did not like communism. For them, Communism
leads to evil, and capitalism leads to success and betterment. Furthermore, how can we
help to improve our country’s status and how does it rely on the capacity and skills of
youth can contribute to our beloved country.

I. Introduction.
According to Prasanna, (2013) Youth play an important role in nation-building
because future generations are responsible for the country's growth. They will grow into
responsible citizens who contribute to the nation's growth. This concept has been
observed since the beginning of time; today, there are numerous programs that promote
youth development in various ways. Many initiatives exist to ensure that today's youth are
prepared for the country's future. The youth of a nation is its most valuable asset. They
are tomorrow's leaders and represent the best in the world. When youth are molded and
led in the right direction, they are more likely an investment.

II. Body.

For the first speaker which is Hon. Lorenzo A. Clavejo he said that there is more
to just this gathering. Because many are involved, it means that many also want to
participate for nation-building or many more want to help develop our nation. Our
country's future is in the hands of our youth and students. He also mentioned that to
discover what is posing a challenge to nation-building and in order to find solutions to the
problem of terror groups, and to advance we must need peace in order to improve nation-
building. He added that we are Filipinos, and we are united by our love for our country,
unity, and freedom loving concept.

While for the second speaker is Ms. Rica Jareen D. Maravilla, she spoke about the
National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and
Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG), including their origins, history, and goals. To be
honest, her section is the longest and most difficult to comprehend, but it is critical to
understand and evaluate. She also listed various organizations and groups that assist
people in meeting their basic needs through jobs, projects, training, and food donations,
among other things. Another consideration is awareness.

For the third speaker is Dr. Robert S. Kittel he is the Co-Chair of UPF Asia Pacific,
he discussed about the life of Karl Marx and why he led to communism. Also In his part,
where it started to be against to Communism. He also talks about what it means to be a
“Patriotic Youth” which means to live for the sake of other people. To be a Patriotic Youth
you need to involve in public and civic affairs which it may start in your own family next is
to promote liberation as well as development from being dependent to interdependent as
member of the community. Youth also serve with utmost responsibility and loyalty; they
can be entrusted with the monetary assists of the country; known for honesty and integrity.
They should possess self-discipline, and embody in their character ethical and spiritual
values and lastly, they should have appreciation for the government, military, and respect
the rights of people

Dr. Edgar T. Tanate, the fourth speaker, is an International Lecturer at UPF Asia
Pacific. He is implying that Communists use violent revolution to achieve their objectives.
He discusses the "Egg Concept," which states that all is fine when the embryo is still
within the shell. Nothing is supposed to change. The shell will then be broken or
destroyed when the embryo develops into a chick, which he believes represents
revolution. Working in peace, giving and taking action, and faith in God are just a few of
his points.
For the Last speaker Mr. Jude Montifar, is an Education Director who believes that
man's essence is found in labor, and that when humans and animals are compared, man
has God's Spirit. He prefers to talk in a philosophical manner

III. Analysis.

➢ As a youth, we must know what are our capability and skills in order to use
it accordingly.
➢ We youth should have compassion, integrity and fairness towards
everybody. We should treat everyone fairly and equally.
➢ Do what you want other’s do to you. In order to be respected we should
respect them also, remember that respect starts with yourself.
➢ Act ethically and avoid evilness for the benefit of everyone.
➢ Respect and consider everyone’s point of view and decisions.

IV. Recommendation.

1.) As we all know, today's youth face tons of issues. The administration must
provide them with equal opportunities in all fields in order for them to succeed.
2.) The society must embody unity, harmony and fairness in order to achieve the
betterment of our country.
3.) The administration should expand the benefits of the youth and consider their
opinions and suggestion as we never know it can lead to betterment.
4.) Educate the youth of the future generation about social awareness and state’s
situations.
5.) Normalize the idea of youth being vocal on what they notice about the
administration and the society.

V. Conclusion.
The youth are responsible for the country's entire success. However, in order for long-
term achievement to occur, it is the government's responsibility to provide the youth with
appropriate offices for getting equipped with advance material. While the youth’s critical
or the most important task for children is to acquired high-quality education in order to
become better citizens of the future. To do the work that our country's economy requires,
we must learn those skills. To do the work that our country's economy requires we must
learn those skills. We youth should also be able to read and write, think and comprehend
things, and analyze situation, and discuss the problems that their country faces.
