Problem: the ISO System of Limits and Fits is probably the most popular system for
properly tolerancing round things that go in round holes.Your typical metric dowel has an
m6 tolerance, as described in this standard. The ISO standard doesn't make it easy to
determine what the hole tolerance should be for an m6 pin. How do you ensure that you get
the right fit for your pin?

The article linked above gives a generalized process to convert the fits in the standard for
any hole or pin/shaft.

For ease, I've compiled the chart below, specifically for metric dowels with an m6 tolerance.
A number with no '-' sign is positive.

For example, if I had a 6mm dowel, and I wanted a 'Locational Interference' fit (see chart),
my hole tolerance would be 6mm -.008/+.004 mm
