Conclusion:

Introduction:
In this book I will focus on the fixed star named Algol,
Caput Algol is another variation. It is not intended to be a
text book discourse on astrology, advanced or otherwise.
Rather it is intended for the intermediate astrologer who
wishes to broaden his or her knowledge by studying the
possible impact of some of the more well-known fixed stars
and asteroids.   In this book I will mention other fixed
stars that are well known. However the primary focus will be
on Algol. Since nothing in astrology operates in a vacuum
it’s only proper to try and put the chart in its proper
context.

It is not a book for the more advanced astrologer;

rather it is geared towards observations only in the natal
chart for those who are now wondering and studying over their
initial understanding of the natal chart and would like to
add some other tools. These tools being the asteroids and
some of the fixed stars and how they may augment the natal
and mundane charts they study.

I recommend that one first become well acquainted with

the planets, and what they symbolize in the natal charts, the
background of the traditional hierarchy as well as knowledge
of traditional astrology meaning the table of essential
dignity and debilities including Ptolemy’s Essential
dignities.   They are an absolute must in understanding
astrology by study of the virtue of the planets and the
manner in which they may operate, whether for good or ill.
The traditional knowledge of the malefic Saturn  and then
Mars  the lesser malefic as well as the benefics,
Jupiter  the greater and Venus  the lesser and all basic
astrological knowledge should be firmly understood before
delving into this area.
I returned to the study of astrology about 12 years ago,
after an interruption of many years raising a family. I found
nothing but scorn when I suggested the fixed stars may be
connected to the planets.  Perhaps even various important
asteroids had significance and were worth the effort it takes
to track them in the natal chart.  At the time there was
little acceptance to these ideas although some innovative
astrologers had taken them up before me.

Since then many of the more well-known astrologers have

begun a serious examination of the fixed stars and to write
about their findings. While I was pondering the place fixed
stars might have in my chart interpretations, it appears many
others around the world were doing the same. Coincidence, or
is the irony of the collective consciousness?

The first book that hit the market that made an impact
on me was Brady’s Fixed Stars. Yet I was a bit disappointed
to read she placed little or no interest in connecting them
with the planets. I don’t know if she has since changed her
position, as this was quite some time ago. Her book speaks of
the Parans positions of the stars and it gives a new insight
into the stars which are so difficult to map, yet they manage
to affect our lives.

According to the excellent online Skyscript UK Glossary,

the Parans stars (short for Paranatellonta) are defined as
star groups that fall on angles viewed as attendants when we
are born.

Tracking the fixed stars today can be done rather easily

with any one of the many astrology programs available for
purchase, or even for free on the internet.  Using either of
those methods allows us to obtain our natal charts with the
option of inserting the Parans. We find that those Parans
stars which fall in the angle of the Ascendant, for instance,
are vital to understanding these attendants at our birth.
Once we have that information, we can study the descriptions
of the stars either at Skyscript in the U.K. or on the Anne
Wright’s  Constellation of Words site to get a better
understanding as to how they may relate to our lives.

There are the other three angles, such as the MC or Mid-

heaven, which would be where we’d look for the “years of
our youth” which is one way to describe this place and the
importance that Parans stars places with the angles as a
timer in life. The DC 7th house cusp where you find the 3rd
angle or the setting stars, “The Years of our middle age”
onto the foundation and setting or IC (“the latter days of
our lives“) All of this information can be of significant
help in determining how we may navigate through the life, the
starts and stops, the delays or the progress with the help of
star lore.

For me however, when I’m in a hurry and helping someone

with a crime case for a missing person, I will use the fixed
stars with which I am most familiar, I may check others if
there is reason in the natal that seems obvious and needs
further clarity.

I am presenting this book more as an introduction to the

concept, in the hope that it will generate additional
interest and further study into the use of fixed stars in the
natal chart. Toward that end, the book is in the main, a
compilation of chart examples from the author’s personal
observations and study showing Algol in the   natal and
mundane chart influence.

CHAPTER 1:
Algol the Blinking Demon Star
Algol  is a blue spectral class B8 moderately bright
eclipsing binary star, approximately 92 light years away in
the Constellation of Perseus.  A binary star system consists
of two stars that orbit around a common center. Thus Algol
appears to dim roughly every 69 hours, and then return to
full brightness as the two stars circle one another.
Algol’s winking appearance can be observed with the unaided
eye. The American Association of Variable Star Observers says
that there is also a secondary eclipse when the brighter star
occults the fainter secondary one. This secondary eclipse can
only be detected photo-electrically.

The name Algol   derives from the Arabic ra’s al-ghūl

- :
head (ra's) of the ogre (al-ghūl). The name "Demon Star" is a
direct translation of the Arabic. The Alexandrian astronomer
Ptolemy referred to Algol as the Gorgon of Perseus  in his
2nd century astrological writing. It is associated with death
and decapitation, which depicts the hero Perseus slaying the
snake-headed Gorgon Medusa. Gorgon is a Greek name, for the
demon like creature.

From the Constellation of Words, an online compendium of

all the major fixed stars so eloquently put in a convenient
place for us today, Anne Wright gives us the following
description of Beta Perseus, being described as:

“Algol  - a bright star positioned on the severed

head that Perseus is carrying. It is an eclipsing binary;
every 68 hours and 49 minutes this Demon Star ‘blinks’ for
roughly 8 hours as the dimmer star of the pair passes between
the brighter and the earth.”

Perseus and the head of the Gorgon Medusa with

writhing snakes instead of hair. Designed by Jehoshaphat
Aspin and etched by Sidney Hall, from A Familiar Treatise on
Astronomy, published in London in 1825.

What should we make of such gruesome descriptive

adjectives used by the ancient astrologers to describe
Algol  and some other of the more well-known fixed stars?
They certainly conjure up dire, frightening prospects in our
minds if we take them too literally, and some do. This is
perhaps one reason why people may be hesitant to include the
fixed stars in their studies of the natal chart.  But
considering the fact that the ancients felt they were of
great importance, I feel we would be remiss not to test their
value as an additional tool for chart delineation.

It is an ongoing and sometimes heated argument among

astrologers as to whether astrology is an art or a science.
Astrologers have been arguing over this for as long as I can
remember and the arguing is likely to continue long after I
am gone.

It is an irrefutable fact that astrology has existed in

one form or another before the science of astronomy or at
least as long. Certainly at one time, perhaps well over 1,000
years ago the two disciplines were considered
interchangeable. The calculations necessary to determine the
positions of the stars and planets is pure science, this
cannot be denied. But is the interpretation of how these
positions which influence the individual, an art or is it
science?   There is also a third alternative to which some
subscribe which refers to astrology as a pseudo-science or
metaphysical science. Personally I have come to believe that
astrological interpretation itself is an art and I feel it is
important for the reader to know that.

If we consider that astrology is not a science, but more

of an art using underlying scientific calculations for
locations of the planets and stars it then becomes easier to
understand why we can’t describe Algol  as wholly negative
one hundred percent of the time. This is no different than
coming to understand that the two traditional known malefic
planets, Saturn and Mars are not completely negative in all
instances either. I feel the need to repeat that
understanding as it is an absolute must, for otherwise; you
will not be prepared to grasp the larger concept of
vibrations within the scope of a natal birth chart.

When an astrologer studies forensic crime charts for

example, both Venus  and Jupiter  may indeed trigger a
heinous crime, which is the opposite of what one would expect
from a literal black and white description of the beneficial
influence attributed to these planets. There are so many
other considerations that the astrologer needs to consider.
For example, were the planets harmed by debility to then not
operate efficiently?  Were they connected to malefics in
such a manner as to change their function to optimize their
use in more optimal way?  The traditional malefic can
therefore, be seen as aiding a person or the benefics
traditionally  Venus and Jupiter can be seen in life to be
harmful, and this would be reflected by both degree,  sign
and other factors taught in the basics.  Astrology is after
all, the art of observing the operation of vibrations in real
time.

I should mention at this point that the fixed stars

should only be used when in close orb, and restricted to both
the conjunction and opposition within the charts. The orb
value is contested however, and generally speaking William
Lilly used a wider orb for Algol, Antares and some of the
more malefic well known fixed stars while more contemporary
astrologers you may read, stay close to within 2 degrees of
either direction. For Algol, I do as Diana Rosenberg  did
although not quite as wide as Lilly, and tend to use a wider
orb value but nominally will feel the severity is less when
over a 3 degrees orb.

It is certainly worthwhile to understand how some

astrologers use the fixed stars to enhance the natal chart
and read the overall vibrations, and how we attempt to
advance this knowledge by observation, and then pass this
information along. There are many fine books which are for
the advancement of Fixed Star knowledge along these lines and
I’d recommend the late Diana Rosenberg’s “Secrets of the
Ancient Skies” as one of the better resources.

There are also far more well-known older authors too,

which can add to one’s knowledge as well most of which would
be quite advantageous for background, history and the various
astrologers in the past that took this route and promoted
them in common usage both then and now.
In an effort to gain a better understanding of the natal
chart I began to study the link between this star and our
natal charts in the same way observed years ago by other more
astute astrologers such as William Lilly. Lilly was a horary
astrologer who read for both Kings and the common people and
lived during the 17th century. The 19th century English
librarian Vivien Robson  painstakingly catalogued the fixed
stars whilst working at his day job.   Robson, true to his
natal chart with his Sun Gemini the sign of writers with his
Moon and ascendant in Virgo, the sign of painstaking
accuracy, and his MC in Virgo gave us the benefit of his time
and study surrounded by the books of ancient authors at his
disposal. You will notice his name is mentioned in this text
more than a few times.

I respect greatly the knowledge that has come down from

ancient days, which forms the basis for Western astrology,
and certainly from the Greeks on to today and before then if
we go back to prior history I still feel as though nothing
empirically can take the place of pure observation and
experimentation which is crucial.

The knowledge of the ancients is pure gold to the modern

day astrologer’s arsenal; however added to this should be
day to day careful observations of how the energies of the
stars and planets play out in our modern society.  Living
conditions and cultural norms have changed so much over time
that there are likely many new and novel ways that the
energies will play out, and so the older definitions can seem
archaic. For instance we are no longer faced with daily
threats from wild animals or invading hoards, but there are
still other ways in which we may be endangered in our modern
world. It makes more sense to recall and apply to the
abstract understanding, the traits inherent in the planets.
Obviously the modern day astrologer needs to reevaluate how
the symbols need to be more accurately applied to the modern
day world and conditions.

For example, Ptolemy’s description of a fixed star may

suggest that its behavior is similar to the traits which we
normally associate with Mars and Jupiter. When it is Mercury
and Mars or any other combination, then the same would apply.
Our common sense in this area helps to define how they may
play out in the modern day world.

In this way, my hope is that you too will take more

seriously your own study of the fixed stars and use them as
you see fit to understand the complexity of human existence a
little more fully and holistically.

In my observing  this most feared fixed star, I have

also come to see many talented people who managed to come
away just fine who had Algol in a prominent position in their
chart.  I suppose like anything else, we could say as with
certain harsher aspects, “what doesn’t kill us makes us
stronger”.

But from the obscure to the famed, no one seems immune

to Algol, whether by transit, progression or natal endowment.
This book speaks only of the natal being the primary source
for hardship from this star. Certainly it is not a star known
for good times, but rather when triggered in the natal chart
often brings to us what astrologers call the natal promise.

What is a Natal Promise?

Simply stated it would be to suggest that nothing will
happen in your life of consequence which is not first
promised in your natal chart. Bad luck or good luck which
occurs in life will not happen to you on a consistent basis
unless it is found in the natal chart as a promise. Usually
there must be 3 testimonies or more.
For bad luck which is consistent and has been for most
of one’s life, I’d turn to the natal and certainly check to
see if Algol  is present using a wider then norm orb. This
means, because of the propensity towards harm, use wider than
a 2degree orb even if it hurts you to do so, and the experts
tell you to never use over 1-2 degree orb. Do it anyway, and
do it consistently when allowing for observing other charts
over time.

You will begin to see that William Lilly who allowed up

to 5 degrees for certain royal stars for instance, and stars
of great ability to do harm use of a larger orb enhances your
ability to detect the potential of a chart. The astrologer
Rob Tillett allows for larger orbs to be used as well.

Personally speaking, my favorite reference for

understanding the energies inherent with this star comes from
the late Diana Rosenberg who had her own blog for many years
before her death, called YeStars.com.

She said that those who were born with Algol  in their
natal chart will not be able to ignore some suffering; rather
the energy is the type that insists that it be confronted and
assimilated in one way or another in the lifetime.

This was her opinion as she wrote on this particular

star and from what I have observed in my own studies over the
years that seems to be a rational approach for how to best
view this star.

Caveat: There are of course more people than we can

count in the world born with this star on a personal planet,
point or angle, who may indeed experience more wealth,
pleasure and happiness than, “one can shake a stick at“,
but I will concentrate on sharing only the lives that I have
studied. Most of which are public figures whose lives and the
effects of Algol are there for everyone to see. So much of
the art and metaphysical science of astrology is symbolic and
lacks literal interpretation; so please take these
observations as you will, just as another tool to put in
one’s Astrological tool box. Even if you are not totally
convinced of the value of the fixed stars, try at least to
make your own observations. This can be extremely beneficial
when the current accepted methods just don’t seem to tell
the whole story adequately. In doing so, perhaps you too will
discover that what has been passed down by the ancients to
the modern day astrologer, is indeed a wonderful gift.

CHAPTER 2: Algol in wartime
The late fixed star astrologer, Diana Rosenberg  said
about Algol  in wartime “Though it is often found in the
horoscopes of criminals, having Algol prominent in a nativity
does not necessarily mean one will commit or experience
violence. It is rather that one will not be able to remain
aloof from that level of human experience and will be led to
come to terms with it in some manner”.
“A journalist may be assigned to cover tragic events, a
medical student may be assigned to a trauma center (in
medicine the treatment of pain is called Algology!), a
soldier witnesses terrible slaughter, a war veteran suffers
flashbacks; an Algol  placement compels confrontation and
assimilation of these harsh aspects of human experience…
Under the influence of Perseus, whose head and arm are here,
they desire to make a difference, with the idea of
“rescuing” people, social groups or nations from their
ills”. Source: Diane Rosenberg -YeStars.com
Iraq Invasion
Prior to discussing the major players in the 2003 Iraq
War, let’s take a brief look at the founding of Iraq’s
capital city of Baghdad and its connection to Algol.

“Arabic commanders in chief, in times of conquest, made it a

point that no important battles were begun when the light of Algol
was weak.”
Today there are a few Electional Astrology charts
floating about for Baghdad’s founding, but I will use the
one from Classical Astrology who uses the date and time given
by Al-Biruni, a court astrologer considered to be one of the
greatest scholars of the Medieval Islamic Era.
Al Biruni as he is popularly known was born Abū al-
Rayhān Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Bīrūnī in Kath in Persia which
is actually known as modern day Iran, on September 5th, 973
A.D.

We read that Al Biruni is credited with at least 146

books, of which 95 were related to subjects like mathematics,
astronomy and geography.

Using his related time of founding, the Grand Square is

very tense and inharmonious for the long term. As with all
natal charts the timing of both transits and progressions
bring about a trigger effect to the sensitive places. In this
case, the foundational chart for Baghdad shows Antares rising
which is a fixed Royal Persian Star prone to violence and
conjunct Pluto. [“The Effect of Royal Stars in Practical
Astrology” D.M.Hoover Kindle 2016-17]   The ruling sign of
the Ascendant is Sagittarius, and therefore Jupiter is its
lord as ruler of this sign.

Some astrologers suggest that the retrograde planets

are indicative of past events needing to be once again faced
in the current life.

Just how many bodies have piled up since the invasion in

2003 of Iraq, the birthplace of Chaldean Astrology near the
Euphrates Rivers, and the site of modern day Baghdad?
Mesopotamia was where the skills of astrologers and
astronomers rivaled those of ancient Egypt. The people who
made up this region, referred to as the birthplace of western
civilization, were some we have read about, the Sumerians,
the Chaldeans, the Babylonians, the Assyrians and the
Akkadians.

President G. W. Bush  ordered the famous, “Shock and

Awe” blitz over this ancient and oil rich region. Most of
the important players behind this invasion had Algol
prominent in their natal charts. They are intimately
connected to the Baghdad chart.

Saddam Hussein

Obviously, Saddam  Hussein  the dictator of Iraq  did

not lose his head literally, but figuratively speaking he did
so during his reign. Hussein had Mercury conjunct Algol at
24 degrees Taurus  and opposed to the 23 degree Black
Moon  Lilith  in Scorpio, which can make for unusual ideas
about one- self. His Venus being in the 3rd decan of Aries;
indicated a lack of social skills, a brutal nature, and much
selfishness. Venus in Aries is in the sign of detriment, not
favoring social skills.

Lois Rodden  gave the time of birth listing for Saddam

Hussein a rating of X, which means it is questionable.
However even without knowing an exact time of birth, the
position of Mercury will still be 24 degrees Taurus conjunct
Algol and also opposed to the Black Moon Lilith at 23 degrees
Scorpio. BML an abbreviation for the Black Moon Lilith was
quincunx to his Venus  which may speak to his social
ineptness as well as his overindulgence in the material life.

Saddam  had his distressed planet Mercury  in

Taurus harmoniously Trine to Jupiter. Jupiter is in the sign
of its fall in Capricorn 26 degrees 51 minutes. Seeing a
harmonious aspect like a Trine as the only major aspect both
to Jupiter and Neptune sounds good on the surface, however
when we delve deeper into the natal chart, we note that his
manner of thinking and communicating, (Mercury) is seriously
flawed. Mercury is seriously harmed by Algol and Jupiter
inflates this harm with delusions of grandeur, i.e. Neptune.

Saddam Hussein often told intimates and others he

believed he was the reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar, the King
of the neo-Babylonian empire whose reign was from circa 634
– 562 BC., and according to the Bible, he had once conquered
Judah and Jerusalem. He had the inscription "To King
Nebuchadnezzar in the reign of Saddam Hussein " inscribed on
bricks inserted into the walls of the ancient city of Babylon
during a reconstruction project.  He also named one of his
Republican Guard divisions after Nebuchadnezzar.

Saddam  Hussein’s personality was severely flawed and

Algol played a role in the severity of the delivery of these
piled up negative vibes, certainly for his victims.

Dick Cheney
Looking at the former Vice President’s natal chart, it
is very evident that the Algol vibration was strong for his
MC angle, the most prominent or public place in the natal
chart which is also for him, conjunct fixed star Algol. The
piled up corpses which the ancients warned of, came to pass
for the people of Iraq as well as the allied forces of
soldiers.  Even today, over a decade later, innocent lives
are lost almost every week as an indirect result of the 2003
invasion.

This is rather chilling to realize in modern day times

how an ancient description can be so uncanny in its accuracy
even today. The closer a planet or point is to Al Ghoul, the
more potent the vibration.  Dick Cheney’s MC is positioned
at birth at 27 degrees Taurus  58 minutes while his natal
Uranus approaches the M.C. angle. The odds of trouble
therefore, are manifested greatly when Mr. Cheney came into
the world.

Donald Rumsfeld

Donald Rumsfeld has his Chiron  in the 6th Cadent

(weaker house) of everyday service in Algol. President
Nixon named Congressman Donald Rumsfeld to be Chief of the
Office of Economic Opportunity in 1969, only months after
becoming president. He resigned from Congress and was
confirmed by the Senate and sworn in on 5/26/1969.

Rumsfeld’s reputation preceded him in a way which is

best summed up by the words of former President Richard Nixon
during the Vietnam War years.  He said of Donald Rumsfeld,
when talking with his close aide Bob Haldeman, "at least
Rummy is tough enough" He's a ruthless little bastard.
and "
You can be sure of that." [Nixon Library tape # 464-12] The
President obviously found his ruthlessness to be a valuable
trait, as it seems did the senior and younger President Bush
many decades later.

His national service continued in December of 2000, when

Rumsfeld  was appointed Secretary of Defense by George W.
Bush. During his tenure as Secretary of Defense he presided
over the Baghdad Abu Ghraib Prison scandal in which many
prisoners were tortured. They were photographed during the
torture and eventually this became known by the free Press
and therefore, the world.

In the probability of a resulting need to place blame

and having someone take the fall for this scandal,
information was revealed that the Bush Administration had
made provisions for this eventuality, by making sure the
White House “Office of Legal Counsel” John Yoo    had
written a memo in March of 2003 saying in effect that Federal
Laws in the use of torture would be permitted for the
interrogators overseas.

Donald Rumsfeld  appeared before the Senate and House

Armed Services Committees on May 7, 2004. In his opening
statement before each congressional body, he apologized to
the detainees and their families. Rumsfeld responded to a
"I would
question about whether he would step down by saying:
not resign simply because people try to make a political
issue out of it." President Bush  commended Rumsfeld’s
overall performance and said he would not ask the Defense
Secretary to resign.

What is there in his natal chart would explain a man who

had the reputation that Richard Nixon  knew he could depend
on, i.e. “cold and ruthless”, as well as conceive to
finding a way of circumventing the Geneva Convention  code
for the handling of war prisoners?

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 9th, 1932 at

5:40 PM.  He has his natal Chiron, the symbol of the inner
wounding that we all carry somewhere inside of us, in his 6th
house 27 degrees Taurus  9 minutes. Although we do not use
the squares, only the oppositions and conjunctions to the
fixed stars, I must note that he also had a square from this
place of his debilitated Chiron to his 8th house
Jupiter located in Leo at 23 degrees.
The 8th house is often undermining to us and sometimes
as well, to others. It is the house we associate with
other’s assets, as well as obsessive qualities.

There is not usually much good to say about a stellium

in the 8th house, and in his case, his natal Sun is conjunct
fixed star Wasat  in the twins constellation of Gemini  at
the tropical location of 17 Cancer. Wasat is said to be a
saturnine star and brings prominence in public affairs, being
able to speak with clear authority when others are waffling
and prominence in public affairs or management is often the
result.[The Living Stars, Dr. Eric Morse, p.45]
The down side of this star would be connected with
Saturn, which Constellation of Words gives as: “Of the
nature of Saturn and is connected with chemicals, poisons,
gas, violence, malevolence, and destructiveness as a first
principal.” [Robson, Vivien “The Fixed Stars and
Constellations in Astrology” p.216.]
In some sardonic twist of irony, this is exactly the
premise Rumsfeld, Bush  and Cheney  went after
Saddam  Hussein, claiming he had WMDs or Weapons of Mass
Destruction and chemical weapons.

I believe that President Nixon, told his aide Haldeman,

exactly as Dr. Morse predicted, that this man with his Sun
conjunct Wasat  would “ speak with authority, when others
would waffle” and in Nixon’s own words, he said pretty much
this was why he wanted Rumsfeld., “ that ruthless little
bastard” he called him, because others would waffle or as
President Nixon put it, “ he’s not going to come in and try
to sell me something else”. [Nixon Library tape # 464-12]
Coupled with Algol in the 6th house of service, we see
clearly more so what Donald Rumsfeld  was capable of,
especially with his Sun so closely aligned and conjunct to
Pluto  in the 7th house and the 8th house stellium. He was
doing exactly what Nixon and Bush wanted him to do, and was
the one to service their needs without complaining from his
planets in the 6th house, those he worked for and who counted
on him. Not to waffle, but to deliver and this he did.

Condoleezza Rice

Condi Rice, was the 1st black woman appointed to a

cabinet position in the White House, first as Bush’s
Security Adviser and during the 2nd term his Secretary of
State replacing Colin Powell. Powell testified before the
United Nations to justify the Iraq invasion, and now says he
It is a blot on
regrets having done so saying publically, “
my record, and it will always be painful, it is painful
now.”
Condoleezza Rice  however, has never expressed any
regret for her role in taking America to war based on false
intelligence. She has natal Venus in the self-undoing 22nd°
45 minutes retrograde and in detriment in Scorpio as well as
opposed to Algol and her Venus conjuncts closely to her natal
Sun. Perhaps that is why she worked so well with her boss G.
W. Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney, and was generally well received
in the media. She was one of a very few trusted inner cabinet
members who always was with the President and part of the
original plans made for the invasion. The Sun with Venus even
in precarious positions, still seems to help in the way the
outer world will relate, appears to have given to her the
benefit of doubt when doubt would arise. In M’s Rice case,
her Sun and Venus are both posited in the 10th public
house.    Condi’s 12th house has the North Node conjunct
fixed star Facies  and her North Node is semi-square to a
debilitated Venus in the 10th.  She was not quite as scathed
as the others were concerning their reputations, after the
news of the false intelligence came out.

Perhaps her public face does not really match well the
private face which is connected to Facies, a reputed evil
fixed star in the hidden and introverted 12th house, semi-
square the Sun and Venus in the outer world 10th house.

General Stonewall Jackson

Jackson was one of the best known generals in the

Confederate Army during the Civil War. After being wounded in
the Battle of Chancellorsville  Virginia he had to have his
arm amputated and he passed away eight days later on May
10th, 1863 after pneumonia set in.  In the Arizona Republic
newspaper on Saturday May 11th, 2013, there was an article
about Stonewall Jackson with a photograph of a tombstone near
Orange County Virginia. The tombstone marks the resting spot
for the amputated arm of General Thomas J. “Stonewall”
Jackson.  The article went on to question whether or not he
actually would have died if he had not been dropped from the
stretcher after being felled in battle. There was recently a
conference at the University of Maryland School of Medicine
in Baltimore and General Jackson’s case was raised on this
the 150th anniversary of his death.

A trauma surgeon and Professor named Joseph DuBose told

the Associated Press that it was most likely that General
Jackson actually died after he fell and pneumonia settled in.
The fall from the stretcher would have possibly created a
contusion or bruising of the lung. I suppose it’s plausible,
but found it fascinating that people are still questioning
all these years later the way and manner his death may have
occurred. They surmise with today’s modern medicine it’s
unlikely he would have perished. Another internist Dr.
Mackowiak who organized the conference said he differs with
DuBose on the Jackson opinion. In his view, it was recurrent
pulmonary emboli which destroyed Jackson’s lung over time
that led to his death. He pointed out that the medical
records do not mention that the General was coughing which is
common with pneumonia although I knew a fine woman astrologer
who was healthy one week for all intents and purposes, and
died of pneumonia the next week. It probably took all of 48
hours to come about and kill her. It astonished all who had
been her friends to lose her so quickly. She had a Grand
Square which was triggered by Neptune.

General Jackson  was much loved and respected by his

troops so his death which took place on May 10, 1863, 8 days
after being carried off the battlefield was seen as a
terrible blow to the Confederacy. He excelled in other famous
battles such as the Battle of Bull Run, the Battle at
Antietam in Maryland as well as Fredericksburg Virginia.

There were some troubling fixed stars in the General’s

natal chart. He had a natal conjunction from his Mars  to
Vindemiatrix  at 9 Libra  tropical chart position. When he
was hit by friendly fire and subsequently died, he was
undergoing a transit of Juno. Juno was transiting that day 6
°Libra 51minutes and partile conjunct his Moon 6 Libra 59
min.   Juno is an asteroid  and traditionally thought to
represent a marriage partner. I have found that in countless
cases though, especially in crime charts, it can represent a
total stranger such as a stalker or foe. In the General’s
case, he was killed by so called “friendly fire”. In other
words, his own people mistook him for the enemy and it was an
error that someone shot him and not recognizing him.

The asteroid Juno  often reflects in transits as a

catalyst in the form of another person or 3rd party,  who we
may not even know consciously. I’ve observed this hundreds
of times in crime charts of victims. Juno triggered the
General’s Moon conjunct Mars  in Vindemiatrix. The star
Vindemiatrix  does not have a historical connection to the
military, but it is known for its brutal impact seen far too
often in natal crime charts.  Therefore its placement in his
natal chart being conjunct to Mars is quite consistent with
the star’s inharmonious nature.

In addition his natal 8th house cusp, the house we

attribute to death, is conjunct the fixed star Algol. When
Mercury transited over his 8th house planets at 25 Taurus
conjunct Algol, this triggered the natal promise effecting
the vertex, Ceres, Juno and the fate asteroids Atropos and
Moirae and the General was called home. [ “The 3 Moirae and
the Fated Life” by D.M.Hoover Kindle]

“Fate guides us and we surrender into it, and our

worrisome thoughts cannot change the fixed threads of the
warped spindle
All things which we do and bear, on Fate’s lofty decree
depend; and the harsh sister does not rewind the twisted
thread
The Fates proceed in a definite order, while each of us
goes with uncertainty towards his own destiny.” [From
Seneca’s Oedipus play]

Battle of Little Big Horn 1876

The most prominent action of the Great Sioux War of 1876

was fought near the Little Bighorn River in the Montana
Territory. It was an overwhelming victory for the Lakota
Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and the Arapaho Indian tribes. The
battle was led by several major Indian leaders which included
Crazy Horse as well as Chief Gall. Weeks prior to the battle,
the beloved Indian chief Sitting Bull had a vision which
foretold of a great victory over the white man’s army.

The U.S. Seventh Cavalry, including the Custer

Battalion, a force of 700 men led by George Armstrong Custer
suffered a severe defeat. Five of the Seventh Cavalry's
companies were annihilated;    Custer was killed, as were
two of his brothers, a nephew, and a brother-in-law.  The
total U.S. casualty count, including scouts, was 268 dead and
55 injured.

The engineer of this raid against the Indians on the

plains was Colonel George Custer himself, born December 5,
1839 who died in the battle on June 25, 1876.

As the event chart for this day shows us Pluto, the

classic destroyer, is conjunct the malefic fixed star Algol.
Jupiter is opposed to Algol along with the Part of Fortune
and Jupiter’s expansive nature is evident on this day of the
Piled up corpses.

The battle is known as “ Custer’s Last Stand.” He

died in the battle while Jupiter transited his natal Black
Moon Lilith located 20 degrees Scorpio and opposed to the
transformer destroyer planet Pluto. His worse fears (the
Black Moon) come true for the vain and often rash Colonel
Custer.

CHAPTER 3: Criminals

Bernie Madoff

The ultimate scammer Bernie Madoff’s Sunrise chart

depicts the South Node of the Moon partile conjunct to the
fixed star Algol, a most inharmonious star.  In Bernie
Madoff’s case, perhaps the picture of piled up corpses
evoked by this star is reflected in the number of people who
fell victim to his record breaking Ponzi scheme. Some of them
caught up in the resultant scandal in the losing end,
actually committed suicide over it.
Bernie Madoff has natal Venus at 29° Taurus conjunct
Algol and Alcoyne and his natal South Node with Venus. This
seems to have been manifested in an obsessive pursuit of
material self-indulgence to fulfill the sensual needs of
Venus. Some suggest that the South Node is connected with
past lives.  If that’s true; he may have felt entitled to
enormous wealth and therefore justified in doing anything
necessary to achieve the Venus-Taurus goal.   Taurus rules
property and real estate of which Mr. Madoff had plenty of
each. The luxury items such as the finer clothes, the finest
jewelry, and the best of everything may be seen in this
combination of Venus with Taurus. Taurus is the sign on the
2nd house of assets and craves things of leisure on the
Sunrise chart.
Madoff used his Venusian salesmanship and well-honed
social skills to sell his “too good to be true” scheme to a
long list of victims. People are more apt to believe these
outrageous promises, when sold to them by a master salesman
like Bernie Madoff. According to Astrodienst, a company based
in Switzerland, his MC is actually the 22nd degree of Taurus
based on an auction verified date of birth from a birth
certificate. If this is so, then Algol was near the MC when
he entered the world and becomes even more pronounced because
of this on an angle with the planet Venus.

He was found guilty of securities fraud, money

laundering, mail fraud, and a host of other charges which
will keep him in behind bars for the rest of his life,
considering his advanced age when convicted. The federal
penitentiary he now calls home is a far cry from the
luxurious penthouses and multi-million dollar villas he once
enjoyed in the United States and along the Mediterranean
coast.  Although the original estimated losses were reported
to be well over $50 Billion, the actual losses to investors
according to the court appointed trustee is said to be
approximately $18 Billion, still a staggering amount of money
by anyone’s standards.

We should not suggest that the South Node or the North

Node by themselves in Algol had anything much to do with his
crime. However being coupled with Venus and Mars in their
positions made all the difference. Astrology is abstract in
the main when it comes to delineations and symbols. Venus is
about luxury, the social life and how we interact with
others. Algol harms whatever it touches. In his case the
luxury was “of the past” he felt he was entitled to for it
was the South Node which speaks of past issues, this is often
referred to as the Dragon’s Tail or Ketu in Vedic Astrology
which treats the Moons Nodes as malefic planets.
He also lost his eldest son through suicide while he was
in prison.   A draconian family tragedy for the son’s
children and his wife to learn about and now have to live
through without their loved one. The son blamed the father
for the public ridicule and harm to his life and left behind
1 older son from his 1st marriage and 2 very young children
from his 2nd marriage. He was babysitting the little boy who
was only 2 and asleep in the adjoining bedroom.   He truly
must have been out of his head metaphorically speaking that
day to do such a thing, not thinking at all about the tragic
consequences to the family. His wife was with their daughter
and her grandmother in Disneyland that week.   Mark Madoff
was another tragic victim of the long list of Bernie victims
many people believed. His natal chart has his Moira the
“necessity of fate” at 23 Taurus which is conjunct Algol
and his Lachesis, the fate which measures the thread of life
at 0° Gemini conjunct “The Weeping Sisters”. [“The 3
Moirea and the Fated Life” by D.M. Hoover Amazon Kindle]
His Mars in Pisces did not aid him in life; it’s a
rather weak position for Mars being a water sign. Mars in his
chart opposed Uranus and Pluto while it conjunct both his Sun
and Mercury in Pisces.

Mark committed suicide by hanging on the 2nd anniversary

of his father’s arrest December 11th, 2010.

This may not be too far adrift of a distortion of

Algol’s influence, but we need to realize too that it will
be played out in the way most beneficial to the soul itself.
Not necessarily the way and manner in which we as egos here
on this earth might envision sometimes.

For some it may be a loss of a child, for others as with

Bernie Madoff, something related to Venus perhaps lawsuits or
other types of troubles in life that seems perplexing at the
time of the event. There are wartime Algol events as
mentioned and various other human events we all live through.
And so the way and manner of integrating the energy is
different for each.
Douglas Vaughan
American Greed did a TV show about the man born October
18th, 1947 in New Mexico who swindled approximately $75
million from people with his real estate Ponzi  scheme. He
left many piled up living corpses in his wake by the time it
was all over, well over 600 people were said to have trusted
this man with their money, some even borrowing against their
home in pursuit of ridiculously high promised returns.

Looking at his natal chart we see that when he was born

on October 18th, 1947 he had his natal Jupiter at 28 Scorpio
conjunct his South Node. This means it was opposite fixed
star Algol  and the North Node. Besides this, he had the
accompanied fixed star Minkar  in Corvus  the Raven at 11
Libra, for his Neptune’s position making him seem very
believable, sociable and congenial. This helped him to
convince people to do business with him, ultimately to their
dismay, and terrible financial loss.
Ryan Ferguson
Ryan Ferguson is now a free man, finally out of prison.
The question remains however, is Ryan actually guilty of
murdering a popular newspaper man in this town as he left a
bar that night with an acquaintance? The acquaintance now
says he lied to the police because they were harassing him.
The only other witness has also recanted and said he lied too
because of police harassment. He managed to get into the
nightclub that night because his sister helped him get a
false I.D.  He may have had to spend the rest of his life in
prison if the appellate court did not agree to a re-hear the
case, and they have turned down the latest request but
finally, persistence paid off for him.

Searching for clues in Ryan’s natal chart, his date of

birth is October 19, 1984 in Columbia Missouri when the Lunar
North Node was located conjunct to fixed star Algol  at 27
degrees 52 minutes in Taurus. His North Node is also opposite
the lesser benefic, Venus. So no help here for Ryan.

I have observed others born with their North Node

connected to Algol, and it’s usually means bad luck. Whether
we term it bad luck or just poor choices, regardless the pain
will occur and there isn’t much we can do to stop it.

One may read the entire appeals case as was submitted by

Ryan’s attorney Ms. K.Zellner at Justiceforryanferguson.com
and make up your own mind as to his guilt or innocence. I
doubt sincerely today there would be even a case made at all
against Ryan with the lack of evidence and the additional
information which has since come to light. This may then be
seen in that light as a true tragedy if it was a matter of
purely, bad luck by being fingered by those who have since
capitulated and claim now they were coerced by the police to
finger Ryan as the killer of the much beloved local news and
sports editor, a married father of two who was beaten and
robbed.  The night of the murder, Ryan’s natal Atropos at
9Libra conjunct that problematic fixed star Vindemiatrix was
also transited by the Moira at 9Libra. His Atropos squares
his natal Jupiter and Mars in Capricorn.

UPDATE: After spending 10 years in prison Ferguson was

granted a new trial and released in November 2013.
Jodi Arias
Jodi admitted in an Arizona courtroom, that she drove
the long drive from neighboring California through the Mojave
and Sonoran deserts to Mesa Arizona and killed her then lover
Travis Alexander by stabbing him 27 times and shooting him in
the face.  This drive would have taken at least eight hours
under the best traffic conditions, and more likely around 10
hours one way considering traffic.

One of these slashes with a butcher knife was said to be

from ear to ear. Was she trying to decapitate him?    The
jury believed the prosecution and because of overwhelming
evidence against her, they found it was a premeditated act.
She planned to kill him before leaving California and
arriving at his home for a day full of lovemaking.

When we check Jodi’s natal chart, (born July 9, 1980 in

Salinas California-time unknown) to an intact family life, we
see a variety of natal implications. All as we might expect
when we realize what a talented and creative young woman she
is. In prison over 4 years awaiting trial, she managed to
include herself in Sheriff Joe’s annual Christmas party and
singing event he put on each year for the prisoners. It’s
loosely based on the popular TV reality talent shows. She won
first prize for her lovely singing voice when she sang “Oh
Holy Night” and she sang like an angelic choir master member
with perfect pitch.

She has been selling her well done pencil and ink
drawings to raise money via her mother and relatives posting
the sales for her, both for her prison expense account as
well as for her defense. The defense for Jody’s almost 5
month trial is said to be well over 2 million dollars, most
of it funded by the Arizona taxpayers if not all of it.
Originally Jodi said she would defend herself, but rather
quickly changed her mind once she saw how complicated her
death penalty trial was going to become.

Looking at Jodi’s natal chart we immediately notice

Algol’s vital role in her natal promise. What happened to
make her go off the deep end, and attack so viciously a man
she had been in bed with all day long, then setting him up in
the shower as she snapped pictures of him with her digital
camera.

She threw the camera into the washing machine and turned
it on; hoping the spin cycle would completely destroy the
photographic proof that she had been there with Travis. Then
she hurriedly ran out into the night heading back to
California.

In Jodi’s case I don’t think Algol  is by itself a

promise, other than to say those energies are felt on the
visceral level and add to an already negative array of
troubling signs in the natal chart. Uranus is in the 22nd
degree of Scorpio, a degree of self-undoing and opposing
fixed star Algol. Her natal Mars is conjunct Saturn in Virgo,
making her a candidate for some strong negative energies when
two known malefic planets are conjunct each other such as
these two.

Transiting Uranus created a Grand Square with the New

Moon on the day of the murder. As someone said, Jodi has zero
impulse control. Natal retrograde Uranus which falls in the
self-undoing degree of the sign indicates this is definitely
the case with so many malefics in place.

The jury decided she was guilty of 1st degree murder and
the sentencing phase will be decided soon.
Updated: Although the family of Travis Alexander had
wanted to see the death penalty invoked in this case, Jodi
Alexander received life in prison without possibility of a
parole. Judge Sherry Stephens said that the act was savage
and cruel as she sentenced Arias to life in prison after 2 ½
years had gone by from the origination of the trail against
Jodi Arias, to the sentencing. [Arizona Republic “Jodi
Arias, Natural Life no chance of Release 4/13/15 ]

CHAPTER 4: Crime Victims
Adam Walsh
Adam was born November 14, 1974 in Hollywood Florida at
6:50 AM and was the first child of John Walsh and Reve’
Walsh.  While his mother was shopping one day at the local
mall, she saw a few lamps on sale in the Sears store where
they also had an arcade adjoining the store. Adam was all
enthralled to watch the big kids on the arcade machines and
begged his mom to let him stay and watch and thinking she
would only be a few minutes, said yes. It was the last time
she would ever see her son.

It was believed that Adam died on July 27th, 1981 at age

6 when Otis O’Toole, a convicted serial killer admitted to
killing Adam by decapitation. The worse of the gorgon, the
slaying of Medusa’s head came true in this case, a rarity
but it can occur. He later recanted his admission of guilt
and he died in prison at age 49 of cirrhosis of the liver.
He and his friend convicted serial killer Henry Lee Lucas
admitted to about 200 killings, but the claim has never been
proven.

When we look to Adam’s natal chart we see immediately

his Sun in the loss degree of 21 Scorpio, with the Moon
tightly opposed in tight orb to fixed star Algol  at 27
Scorpio and conjunct Venus  23 Scorpio. The Sun is
essentially, the personality, and when it is harmed this
severely, often it marks the entity for a shorter life. His
Venus in Scorpio is in detriment in this sign as well.
Adam also had the unfortunate combination of a few other
fixed stars and positions which undermined his longevity. He
had Neptune  conjunct the red star Antares, a Persian Royal
star which speaks strongly of attracting violence into the
life.

His Pluto was located 9° Libra which is also conjunct

Vindemiatrix, a known trouble maker and his Jupiter was
with Skat at 8 Pisces. His Ceres  with the Persian Royal
Star Fomalhaut near 3 Pisces seems even in today’s modern
world to oftentimes convey an immortal name, as the ancients
once wrote about.

Adam’s story and his history is immortalized forever,

for it is because of his father’s relentless advocacy for
victims of crimes such as his son had been, that today in the
United States we finally incorporated a law in Adam’s
memory. All data bases in the police department’s country
wide have been altered to include sex offenders. President
George W. Bush signed the “Adam Walsh Child Protection and
Safety Act” into law on July 27th, 2006.  This act forces a
monitoring of all sexual offenders who are put into a 3 tier
level. Those in the level 3 Tier are considered the worst
offenders and are required to update their whereabouts every
3 months and the other tiers, in 6 months and 1 year
respectively. Failure to do so would be a felony and subject
to an immediate arrest. Adam’s memory lives on in infamy.

Dawn Fital
At age 45 this competitive pool player from Michigan was
found dead in a swamp, her body put into a suitcase. She had
been duct-taped first, and dumped into the woods and near the
swampy area by her boyfriend with whom she shared her home.
Dawn was also a mom to 4 children, making this crime doubly
tragic for so many left to mourn her loss.

David Noack has never really said what the motive was
for killing Dawn and disposing of her body in such a crude
manner.  The 44 year old man had been digging a hole behind
a bank in an attempt to dispose of some of her belongings,
when he was spotted by bank employees who then called the
police.
Note: Dawn has a transit of Juno (the stalker) and
always pointing to another person when she went missing.
Transiting Juno is conjunct her natal Pluto and Uranus.

In August 2009, she wrote on her Facebook page, “I’m a

full time grandma and play pool as often as I can. Going to
the World Classic in Galveston Texas, wish me luck”
On September 25, 2009 Dawn, in typical Gemini fashion
wrote, “Got to practice up for the 8 Ball Tournaments in
Jackson October 10 .
th And in April 3 2011 she wrote,
“Getting ready for the Indiana State Valley Championship
this coming weekend”.  Dawn was clearly devoted to her art.
A few days later on the 9 , she wrote, “2 place in the
th nd
State of Indiana, oh well, better luck next year” little did
she know of course, she’d be dead in 2 months’ time.  All
that enthusiasm on Facebook messaging stopped.

There was a photo of her and she didn’t appear the age
of a grandmother, and at only 44 she was surely still quite
young at heart. She wrote about her grandson learning to
swim, but would not live long enough to enjoy them growing
up.

Facebook media is a very strange phenomenon in our day.

So many people who go missing or are found murdered still
have their pictures and personal details on Facebook, it’s
rather uncanny. We hope that Dawn rests in peace; she seemed
to be a very nice woman and quite loving to her family and
friends. She made many friends through her travels playing
pool and they started a memorial in her honor.

Examining her natal chart for the Sunrise without a time

of birth finds Dawn Fitel had Algol conjunct her North
Node.  She was a Gemini Sun, so no doubt stayed young at
heart and loved to travel.

She also had the unfortunate combination of Uranus with

Pluto both at the 15th degree within minutes along with her
Atropos, the Greek death asteroid of the Moirae or fate.
Atropos is the one who cut the thread of life, after Clotho
measured it when the time was ready. [“The 3 Moirae and the
Fated Life” by D.M.Hoover kindle amazon]

For Dawn, the time Clotho designated was ready when Juno
transiting at 22 degree over her Uranus Pluto and Atropos
were within orb of a conjunction.

Again, it’s never Algol alone, we must consider it with

a combination of many factors, all inharmonious, that brought
about such an end. I’m convinced that for Dawn, her Uranus
Pluto at the same degree played the larger role in her case.
They are both seriously heavy outer planets in the natal
chart and they both conjunct with Mizar.

Ptolemy said, Mizar has a Mars nature. Elsbeth Ebertin

said that the star is not helpful with the so called “bad”
planets. Mizar can be found in the tail of Ursa Major the
great bear in the Big Dipper.

Krista Dittmeyer
Krista Dittmeyer was murdered when a reported cocaine
drug deal went bad. Krista’s Black Moon Lilith was 27
Scorpio and opposed to fixed star Algol. It wasn’t helpful
that the Black Moon was quincunx to her Mars in Aries and
semi-square to Neptune in the critical 13th degree of
Capricorn.

She was a beautiful young mother and her child’s father

was in prison for dealing cocaine at the time of her death,
and Krista had also turned to this lucrative money making
lifestyle.

It was reported that she was ambushed by the 3 people

she thought of as trusted friends meeting her for a drug
deal. Instead they intended to rob her and one of them hit
over the head and put into the trunk of her own car. They
drove her to a ski area parking lot and dumped her body into
a pond. They left her 14 month old toddler unharmed in the
automobile, while her mother’s body stayed in the pond and
wasn’t recovered for another 4 days. [Huffington Post
“Anthony Papile to Plead Guilty in Maine Mom’s Death”
5/23/12]
I suppose we would say that this end seemed to be
related somehow to fate, for transiting Moira the Greeks
called the fated Necessity was transiting over her Black Moon
Lilith when she passed over at the 27th degree of Scorpio
within minutes of her shadow. Black Moon Lilith in a tight
orb with Algol creates a very negative situation.

“And so these two, Fate and Necessity are bound

to one another mutually to inseparable cohesion. The former
of them gives birth to the beginning of all things. Necessity
compels the end of all depending from these principles. On
these does order follows that is their warp and woof and
time’s arrangement for the perfection of all things.”
[Thrice Great Hermes: translated by GRS Mead Hermes Press
1978 Vol 2 pg. 202]
In the Greek myth of Moria there are the 3 sisters named
Atropos, Clotho and Lachesis. One does the measuring of the
thread length of life, one spins the thread, and Atropos cuts
the thread connecting us to life, when our appointed time is
up, severing the life with the dreaded shears.  Moira is the
full embodiment of the 3.  Moira is what Hermes was speaking
of when he taught the order and perfection of all things
included by necessity, death or the end of all.  [“The 3
Moirae and the Fated Life on amazon kindle D.M.Hoover”] I
wrote this book because I feel too many people ignore the
asteroids and don’t utilize these readily available tools or
are too quick to dismiss their usefulness especially in
situations where death has already occurred. I do not endorse
however, predicting death ahead of time although I know some
particularly in the Vedic realms of Astrology do this. I
still believe that fate being as strong as it is, may be
curtailed by our souls free will to act.

Plato spoke of the Sisters of Fate on the last 3 pages

of his book, “The Republic” when he said:

“Then the Sisters of Fate take all of our choices and

weave them on their loom into the fabric of destiny. Hear the
word of Lachesis, the daughter of Necessity. Mortal souls,
behold a new cycle of life and mortality. Your genius will
not be allotted to you, but you will choose your genius; and
let him who draws the first lot have the first choice, and
the life which he chooses shall be his destiny. Virtue is
free, and as a man honors’ or dishonors her, he will have
more or less of her; the responsibility is with the chooser
God is justified.” [Plato’s Republic 360BCE Public Domain ]

Amanda - Kidnap Victim
The case of Ariel Castro created shockwaves in the media
when it first came to light in May 2013. Castro kidnapped 3
individual girls off the streets of Cleveland very near to
their homes, and kept them as sex slaves for over 10 years.
The first victim was kidnapped at age 19 and was held the
longest for 11 earlier before Amanda was taken. Amanda, who
was taken in 2003 had the courage to scream for help when
their captor left the house one day going to McDonalds
restaurant. Her heroic efforts that day resulted in freedom
for all 3 kidnap victims and Amanda’s own 6 year old
daughter born while in captivity.  In all of these years he
manipulated all of them through threats and brutality into
believing that he would kill them and their families if they
attempted to escape.

Amanda had the fortitude within her to break this bond

of servitude and torture when she decided to save herself and
her child, a child fathered by her own captor. It has been
reported that the other woman’s pregnancies over the years
were miscarried due to his beatings of at least one of the
other women.

Amanda was only 16 when she was kidnapped by Castro

after working her day shift at Burger King, only one day
prior to her 17th birthday. Her mother died from a broken
heart it was said; only a few years after her daughter
disappeared believing she’d never see her daughter alive
again. She gave up all hope after the self-professed psychic;
Sylvia Browne was reported to have told her that Amanda was
dead.

Since Amanda was so brave that day as she screamed to a

neighbor for help, it’s only logical for an astrologer to
wonder why and what, gave her the determination to break free
then and there.

In Amanda’s case, born on the 22nd day of April 1986

Venus is conjunct Algol at 24 degrees 45 minutes Taurus.
Venus is harshly aspected to Mars and quincunx to Uranus
the planet of the extremes in life.

Her North Node is Anaretic at the 29th degree of Aries

59 minutes, so about as critical in the 29th degree as it can
possibly be. In only one arc minute Venus would change signs
when Amanda was born. Some believe this is a mark of fate, a
special life to be lived, and one that is outstanding in some
way or manner. Since it’s her North Node of the Moon and the
Nodes are considered to be about fate, there may be truth in
this.

How did she live to escape from this man and his torture
chamber? The natal chart for this young woman is blessed by
Jupiter’s beneficial rays harmoniously sextile to her Mars
in Capricorn which is in the sign of its exaltation, and more
than likely enhances her physical endurance. She also has
Jupiter trine Pluto and Pluto sextile to Mars both very
harmonious aspects.

Similar to another famous case, that of Jaycee Dugard

who was held captive and bore 2 children by a brutish
kidnapper.  Jaycee was missing for 19 years taken off the
street at age 11, and returned to her family near her 1st
Saturn Return at age 29. The police, FBI and her family
called it a miracle and the same thing here with these 3
young women alive after being held for a decade or longer.

Jaycee had her Uranus opposite Algol, but she also was
blessed with her Mars conjunct Jupiter which in her case, we
know the time of birth putting Mars and Jupiter in her 8th
house of death. Jupiter here saved Jaycee and allowed her to
return home on her 1st Saturn return when she made a run for
it.

In both young women’s natal charts, the worse of Algol

happened for them, at least in some respects, and for Jaycee
the involvement of Algol with Uranus and for Amanda with
Venus.   For the sake of their privacy, I’ll not post the
natal charts however, but their dates of birth are public
record.

Both of them had strong Mars placements which were aided

by the spiritual benefic of Jupiter’s healing rays, and they
were both kidnapped when transiting Pluto was applying a
conjunction to their natal Uranus.

In ancient Greece Pluto was the god known as Hades who

ruled the underworld. In the mythical tale, he stole his
niece Persephone through trickery and violent abduction. The
myth is represented in theHomeric Hymn to Demeter.  Demeter
was said to be the mother of Persephone.

The Greeks called Pluto Hades When Jaycee was kidnapped

off the street near her bus stop at age 11 by Philip Gerardo,
transiting Mars was conjunct her natal Persephone. When
Amanda was kidnapped by Ariel Castro as age 16 almost 17,
Transiting Uranus was quincunx to her natal Persephone and
.
Transiting Juno as a stalker was conjunct her Venus
White Marble 2 nd century CE the Abduction and Rape of
Persephone

For Jaycee, transiting Juno personifies her stalker
Philip Gerardo who was within one-half a degree of her natal
Juno in an opposition.

On her day of her rescue; Amanda’s Progressed Sun and

Mercury were conjunct her natal Venus in Algol. Transiting
Pluto at 11 Capricorn was conjunct her natal Mars at 11
Capricorn, a partile conjunction within 20 minutes.

Amazingly, her natal Jupiter at 13 Pisces was triggered

by transiting Chiron; representing the inner wound at 13
Pisces, another partile conjunction. Transiting Saturn
retrograde at 7 Scorpio 38 minutes had gone back to conjunct
her Pluto at 6 degrees Scorpio. Seems that the retrograde
action of Saturn  was forcing a confrontation within and
without with her captor not dissimilar to the Jaycee Dugard
rescue when Jaycee’s 1st Saturn Return forced the
assimilation of Saturn’s energies into her life to take the
heroic stand she did for the sake of herself and her children
she bore from her captor. Saturn forces us to confront some
serious issues which are of long standing and ignored during
other times, impelling us perhaps to make a stand. This they
both did in a very heroic way perhaps saving the lives of
many others at the same time known and unknown to them.

CHAPTER 5: Disasters
Earthquake in China
On Saturday April 20th, 2013 at 8:02 AM local time
Saturn was in the 6th house and opposite the Sun in the 12th
house when China had it is worse earthquake in years, a 6.6
magnitude near a busy city that took many lives, injured
others and left thousands  homeless.

In the event chart we notice that Algol  is within one

degree of the Ascendant semi-square to Uranus which is
quincunx to the Part of Fortune. There were two very harsh
aspects for the day of Saturn  with Pluto the destroyer in
the 8th house of death.

The Planetary Hour Ruler Saturn rules both this day and

the event hour. Saturn, the planet referred to as the greater
malefic, is square the Moon (the action of the chart) opposed
to the Sun Mars  and Venus  all in the 12th house of woe,
quincunx the planet Mercury. All the traditional houses of
hardship and woe are active on Saturn’s day and hour which
are  6th the 8th and the 12th houses.

Saturn in this case brings hardships all around as the

entire day of Saturn has been ruined by the greater malefic
to the lesser malefic and even to the traditional lesser
benefic Venus in it is opposition.

That which is a benefic has been brought to it is knees

by all of the other tensions in the mundane event chart. Even
Jupiter  in the sign of Gemini and trine the M.C. did not
help save all these lives. Jupiter expands however, all it
touches and Jupiter in Gemini is in detriment in this sign.
Jupiter in the 1st house sitting in Gemini  the sign
of its Detriment cannot help for it is paralyzed.   It is
harmed here.  Jupiter is not only in the sign of Jupiter’s
Detriment Gemini, but it is also semi-square (harsher than a
square) to both the Sun and Mars.

Saturn  therefore, brings to fruition that which the

natal chart promised at 8:02 AM this day with Algol at the
ascendant, a presaged event of many piled up corpses.

Hurricane Sandy

Algol is conjunct the South Node and the Moon conjunct

the fixed star Hamal (in Andromeda) and found in the forehead
of the Ram.

Jupiter which rises and in detriment and Mars both known

for extremes in force are on the angles of the Ascendant and
Descendant opposite each other.
Hurricane Sandy was the deadliest and most destructive
hurricane of the2012 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as
the second-costliest hurricane in United States history,
leaving approximately 200,000 people homeless.

The Event Chart shows us the severity of this hurricane,

the 2nd worse in American history for monetary losses after
Hurricane Katrina of 2005.

In this event, the South Node of the Moon is partile

conjunct Algol 26 Taurus in the undermining 12th house, with
the Black Moon Lilith, the Moon’s shadow conjunct the Hyades
in the Pleiades at 5 Gemini. These harsh fixed stars
vibrations and the tightness of the orbs show the devastating
impact.

Jupiter on the Ascendant in the 12th is also undermining

for it is within minutes of the ascendant having just risen
this evening, and Jupiter inflates all it touches.

Pluto in the 8th house of death is conjunct Facies

another star known for many troubling effects, at 8°
Capricorn.

Venus is not always the benefit in event charts, also

may bring trouble to bear. In this case in the 5th house
opposite the house which rules the masses of people or the
11th house, and is critical at the 01 degree of Libra, a
Cardinal sign.

There is what I call a pile up of nasty vibrations in

this mundane event chart.  Neptune joins in with its 0
degree of Pisces and conjunct Chiron the wounded healer in
the 10th house of the public and quincunx (150 degrees) to
Venus. Critical Venus will integrate her energies with
Chiron, the wounded healer during this most devastating of
all storms.

Hurricane Sandy made landfall on the Day of the Moon, a

Monday, and the Hour of Mercury. Mercury is also the Chart
Ruler found in the 6th house with the North Node.

Hurricane Katrina

Katrina was the costliest natural disaster and one of

the worse 5 hurricanes to ever strike the United States. At
least 1,833 people lost their lives during this hurricane and
in the subsequent floods many drowned. The human cost far
outweighed the monetary which was estimated to be
approximately 85 Billion dollars in 2005.

The 4 Angles are all extremely stressed with the Fixed

Stars known as important ones. There is Regulus at the
Ascendant at 00 Virgo and the MC conjuncts fixed star Algol
the subject of this text.
In the 7th house of the people, is Uranus the planet of
the extremes in life, and its conjunct the fixed star Skat at
8 Pisces. This star is associated with water and the water
bearer in Aquarius, and when associated with Uranus
Constellation of Words gives, “Sudden deaths”.

“near this star delta (δ Skat) issues a meteor

stream, the delta Aquarids, [July 14 to August 18], and not
far away Mayer noted as a fixed star, on the 25th of
September, 1756, the object that nearly twenty-five years
later Sir William Herschel observed as a comet, but
afterwards ascertained to be a new planet,   Uranus.”
[Constellation of Words for Star Names - Their Lore and
Meaning, Richard Hinckley Allen, 1889]
The Chinese translated Algol as Tseih She, or  Piled-up
Corpses, and this disaster certainly fit that description.
New Orleans and other gulf coast cities were left submerged
during this event.

There was widespread looting and crime that took place

during Katrina within hours and throughout the city on the
next day the 30th of August. Both violence and looting
ensued, gangs and mayhem with armed sniper fire, all of which
made the crisis even far worse than it had to be.

There was a call for the military and National Guard to

restore order by the Mayor.  It was reported that 1/3rd of
the police officers in New Orleans, escaped in their city’s
department owned police cars and a later report by the
Congress of the United States speaks of arrests of some of
these officers weeks later.

One of the almost 2,000 victims of the devastation was

Barry Cowsill who was a famous child singer along with his
brothers in the 1960s and actually inspired a TV show that
was quite popular in the 1970s called the Partridge Family
who each week would mimic them to the delight of many
teenagers at home watching.

His body was eventually found far from his home on a

city wharf.  Barry Cowsill was thought to have been washed
away in the raging torrents that took over most of the New
Orleans area once the levees broke.

After years of struggling with various health issues,

his family said he was just starting to get his life back
together and it was tragic he had to die this way. He was
just turning 51 when he perished. He is reported to have been
found with a piece of paper in his pocket that identified
him, his body was quite decomposed by the time he was
located.  He was only one of countless Katrina victims.

Barry’s Venus was progressed to 28 degrees Scorpio

which opposed fixed star Algol.

The Hindenburg Air Disaster

The Hindenburg disaster took place on Thursday, May 6,

1937. The German passenger airship caught fire and was
destroyed during its attempt to dock with its mooring mast at
the Lakehurst Naval Air Station which is located adjacent to
Lakehurst New Jersey.

There were 97 people onboard consisting of 36 passengers

and 61 crew members.  36 people lost their lives when the
dirigible suddenly burst into flames and crashed to the
ground, which marked the end of the giant air ships.

This particular Zeppelin was named after the 2nd

President of Germany, Paul von Hindenburg who served from
1925 to 1934 and was succeeded by Adolph Hitler. He was a
very popular and loved President who despised Adolph Hitler
and referred to him as “that bohemian corporal” (footnote
Anna von der Goltz in her biography, “Hindenburg” pg.
168)   referring to his time in the Prussian Army.

Although the people wanted him to run for office again,

Mr. Hindenburg was almost 85 years; and perhaps the crash of
the Hindenburg presaged the crash of Germany under Hitler.

The giant German airships of the day used hydrogen gas

to provide lift, which is a highly flammable gas. The United
States possessed the safer non-flammable helium gas, but due
to the politics of the time it was not made available to the
builders of this dirigible.     Despite this, the rigid
airships had an excellent safety record prior to the
disaster; the popular Graf Zeppelin logged over 1 million
miles without incident.

Perhaps it was just a bad timing for the Hindenburg.

Looking at the event chart for the fire that started at 7:23
PM in the timeline of events may help us to see what was to
be the end result.

The first problem we see would be the 9th degree of

Taurus which is where the fixed star Hamal is, conjunct the
Sun in the 7th house of the people, and opposed to the event
or the ascendant that evening. Uranus which is involved
indicates it’s an accident and because of its conjunction to
the Sun, it extinguishes the light or the people.

The 9th degree and 54 minutes of Taurus is actually in

the Stare of Cetus, the sea monster (photo) and all positions
or planets between the tropical 5-20 degrees of Taurus fall
into what is called the Stare of Cetus; and is considered to
evoke national attention to someone or some event.

Certainly everyone awaiting the arrival of the

Hindenburg that evening in New Jersey was shocked and
horrified as they watched the accident unfold. In this case,
the stare of Cetus, below the ecliptic was in evidence when
Uranus conjunct this part of the constellation.

Fixed Star Algol is dire in this case as its conjunct

Mercury and opposes the 1st house Midpoint of Black Moon
Lilith and Mars at 28 Scorpio. In this degree, we are again
seeing Algol’s dogged determination to be problematic in a
chart and in this case with some tragic consequences for a
third of the people and the airship company.

Mt. Pelé’ 1902 Volcano Eruption kills 30,000

Moon in this event chart is the trigger that sets off a

chain of events.  Found in the 12th house and conjunct Algol
while applying a conjunction to Mercury the Ruler of the
chart.

The 12th house suggests no escape.  In the 8th house of

death we can see the greater malefic Saturn and its quincunx
aspect to the Part of Fortune and Neptune another malefic in
the 1st house. The South Node of the Moon is in the 11th of
the masses conjunct Mars the lesser malefic.
Pluto had just risen this morning over the horizon and
opposed Uranus in the 7th house. Pluto and Uranus show no
mercy when aligned in this case.

There were only two souls in the immediate area who

survived the eruption. Louis Auguste Cyparis survived in a
poorly ventilated underground prison cell, and a young girl
escaped by boat and was later found unconscious but still
alive.

There was also a 3rd survivor who lived farther away on

the edge of town. A man by the name of Leon Compere Leandre
escaped but with very severe burns.

Photograph - remains of St. Pierre by Angelo Heilprin

(United States, 1853-1907)]
Compère-Léandre stated the following when asked about
his survival: “I felt a terrible wind blowing, the earth
began to tremble, and the sky suddenly became dark. I turned
to go into the house, with great difficulty climbed the three
or four steps that separated me from my room, and felt my
arms and legs burning, also my body. I dropped upon a table.
At this moment four others sought refuge in my room, crying
and writhing with pain, although their garments showed no
sign of having been touched by flame. At the end of 10
minutes one of these, the young Delavaud girl, aged about 10
years, fell dead; the others left. I got up and went to
another room, where I found the father Delavaud, still
clothed and lying on the bed, dead. He was purple and
inflated, but the clothing was intact. Crazed and almost
overcome, I threw myself on a bed, inert and awaiting death.
My senses returned to me in perhaps an hour, when I beheld
the roof burning. With sufficient strength left, my legs
bleeding and covered with burns, I ran to Fonds-Saint-Denis,
six kilometers from Saint-Pierre.” [San Diego State
University archives The Destruction of Mt. Pelé]

CHAPTER 6: Massacres
The Columbine Massacre Event
Two very disgruntled young friends Eric Harris and Dylan
Klebold were born with an Algol  prominence in their natal
charts. The mayhem they chose to inflict upon their school
mates in the high school in Columbine, outside of Denver
Colorado was unheard of until this event became worldwide
news. Together they had devised a plan to use propane tanks
and various bombs rigged to inflict the maximum amount of
casualties in order to seek revenge on the student body and
teachers. The political activist producer Michael Moore made
a movie about this event called “Bowling for Columbine” and
it became known worldwide because they were also heavily
armed when they entered the school that day.

In the aftermath, the total count of the dead was 12

students and a teacher, not including both Harris and
Klebold, ages 18 and age 17 respectively, who committed
suicide.

The shock of the event fostered a determination that

something so diabolical should not happen again in any school
in the future. Various states instituted new safeguards such
as security guards and metal detectors as a direct result of
this tragedy. Unfortunately however, even with the movie’s
widespread accolades bringing to the foreground the attention
of the harm that some of these automatic repeatable weapons
can inflict, another tragedy called Sandy Hook, emerged a few
years later at an elementary school as we shall see later.

When we check   the natal chart for the event at

Columbine High School , we note   that that on April 20th,
1999 in the city of   Columbine Colorado at precisely 11:19
AM where mayhem ensued, the Black Moon Lilith  was located
in the tropical zodiac at 24 degrees Taurus 53 minutes and
conjunct to Algol  in the 5th house commonly thought of as
the house which rules young teenagers for the sign of Leo,
therefore the Sun   is the natural ruler of this house.
Mars  was in the 4th house within 4 degrees of the 5th
house cusp.

In the natal charts of teenagers Harris and Klebold, we

see telling signs, which are in a synastry with the event
itself. Asteroid Juno, often seen in crime charts as a
stalker or a stranger coming into the life to do us harm can
alternately be seen as a marriage or love partner. In this
case however, it’s conjunct Columbine’s natal Mars  from
Juno’s location in Dylan Klebold’s natal chart or within 2
degrees in early Scorpio.

As for Algol, the main subject of this book, the

location for Klebold is a direct hit to his natal Uranus, the
planet that Edgar Cayce the great seer once called, “ the
planet of extremes ”. Astrologers often talk of unexpected
events and chaos when Uranus is triggered. The trigger that
day for Klebold was the transit of the Black Moon Lilith 24
Taurus.   This weighed heavily upon the inclinations of
someone such as him born with Uranus at 26 degrees Taurus 40
minutes and his natal Black Moon Lilith undermining him at
the 28th degree Taurus 37 minutes, where Algol is located.

As for Eric Harris, born in New York at Plattsburgh Air

Force Base at 9:37 PM, it was enough that he came into the
world precisely when his ascendant was 26 degrees Scorpio
opposing fixed star Algol, on the cusp of the 7th house which
is commonly referred to as the house of others.

Uranus the planet of extremes would have been the 1st

planet to rise as it was located 29 degrees in the 1st house
of Scorpio close to the ascendant. Could it be the coupling
of these two extremist placements of the planet and the fixed
star which caused a potential for havoc and mayhem in his
short life?

When transiting Pluto  that day stationed at 9 degrees

Sagittarius, which is conjunct fixed Star Antares  (Anti-
Ares) a violence prone star as the name implied, progressed
Ascendant was conjunct Antares at precisely 9 degrees
Sagittarius 59 minutes and the lethal combination was
triggered by a transit of Chiron to this place impelling
Harris along with Klebold to assuage their inner wound
called Chiron, by lashing out at so many innocent people at
the high school resulting in Algol’s legendary, “piled up
corpses” once again.

Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre
The Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy occurred on the
14th day of December 2012, when the 6 and 7 year old children
were eagerly anticipating taking part in holiday activities
planned for them in these days prior to Christmas break.

As the young students and their teachers were readying

for the celebrations to begin that day, a sick young man
named Adam Lanza entered the building unbeknownst to the
students.  He was armed with the assault rifle which he used
to gun them down one by one. Adam had once attended this
school when he was a toddler. By age 13, he had been
diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome a form of autism, but
there were other sundry things wrong as well, for he was put
on anti-depression medications. He also had an obsessive –
compulsive disorder for which he was being treated. Yet why
exactly he chose this primary school that day is unknown to
rein havoc upon.

His vehicle parked outside was also found to have both

ammunition and guns just in case he needed them, but it turns
out he didn’t as the rifle operated perfectly and he had
enough ammunition to murder 20 children and 7 adults,
including his own mother.

Adam’s mother was murdered by her son while she lay in

her bed that same morning of December 14th, just before he
carried out his diabolical plan at the elementary school.
On this day, the transits of the North Node of the Moon at 25
Scorpio 54 minutes helped trigger some of the natal promises.
Not all involved that tragic day had the Algol signature, but
a significant amount of the victims had been murdered due to
Adam’s natal Pluto at 22 Scorpio, 6 minutes retrograde being
transited by the South Node that day accompanied by
transiting Atropos, the asteroid named as one of the 3
sisters of the fated “Necessity” of life, called the
Moirae.

Atropos is the one who cuts the ties to the earth

according to the Greek myth. In the Sandy Hook case, Adam
Lanza became the catalyst for cutting the thread or the life
of those he murdered.

Many victims of Sandy Hook had various well known fixed

stars connected within their natal charts that mitigated
their time on earth in my opinion. Whether it’s a
debilitation by position or degree or a fixed star, the
vibration should be noted.  All may indeed play a role, but
we also should not be isolating any one position or any one
star, even if that prominence belongs to Algol. To do so
ruins astrology, and doesn’t paint a clear picture of what
should be conveyed.  Instead to isolate one fixed star only
or one planet   would be akin to taking a fingernail off of
a tiny pinkie finger and insisting that is the whole hand.

For example   one child victim not only had Algol

conjunct his natal Mars as it would have been for many
children born approximately within a few weeks of each other
having similar positions of their Mars who still today, live
healthy lives.   However in his case at Sandy Hook, he also
had his natal Mercury conjunct Vindemiatrix, a star that was
studied extensively in the Dunblane Scotland mass murder of
elementary school children years ago. In addition with Algol
or his Mars at 24 degrees Taurus, his Mercury conjunct
Vindemiatrix at 9 Libra his natal imprint had been further
compromised by an exact conjunction to Zuben Elgenubi, the
Southern Scale at 15 Scorpio. His natal Saturn fell in the
“Asses” or the Asellus Australis in the manger or resting
place of the Crab Nebulae.  Therefore, no one position gave
more of a probability of an early demise then another, and
certainly no fixed star will do this either. I hope I have
made this very clear. If not, then I have done a disservice.
It was a combination of many factors; no single one took
precedence over the other.

This young child was also born with two important yod
formations connecting some of these rather debilitated
planets and some were to the outer planets.   The yod
formations we refer to as “the finger of God” for we see
them as fated and necessary to integrate in one way or
another in the overall pattern of the life.  It’s a common
enough formation and doesn’t in and of itself point to any
kind of detriment. It may even point to the opposite, or to
insight and help along the way.
Astrologers usually will insist upon a proven birth
record for the time of birth, however some of the planets
move so slowly, that we can track them with the natal charts
without it in the case of the children, victims and the
aggressor, of the incident at Sandy Hook Elementary.

One child had been born on October 17th, 2006 who

perished this day.   Upon close examination of the natal
chart we can see that both the Sun and Mars in this case were
conjunct Algol rather in close orb or within 2 degrees of
same.

Another young boy born in September of 2006 had his

natal Moon transited by Atropos as well as the transiting
Moon Nodes, conjunct Algol within a few degrees.

A 3rd student, a young boy had his Sun and Moon both
triggered by Atropos and the Moon’s nodes  transiting
that particular fated  day and both of the lights or the Sun
and Moon  were opposed to Algol .

One teacher did have Algol easily defined in the natal

without knowing her time of birth.  It was with the planet
Saturn which was located 28 Scorpio which puts it opposite
Algol and this place was triggered not only by Atropos that
day, but also transiting Venus at 27 degrees 15minutes over
her natal Saturn. How sad to realize she was just newly
engaged to be married.

Another teacher at the school, born in 1960, had her

natal Mars 24:45 Taurus, conjunct fixed star Algol and
conjunct her natal Atropos when a transit of Atropos cut her
down so brutally that morning.   Her Mars is also quite
severely debilitated in every way, for in her case Mars in
Leo was quincunx to Jupiter square her Moon, Pluto and Uranus
all square to Chiron and Ceres, and semi-square the Black
Moon Lilith. Her natal Mars was also in a degree of Leo,
thought to be associated with mass murders and or serial
killings in crime studies. Surely the vibrations of her natal
chart added up to bring much peril in her life one way or
another. And it is the way and manner that we cannot ever
know or track with absolute certainty.

People can live to a ripe old age with many and varied
fixed stars impinging upon their natal charts as well as all
manner of critical debilitated or harmed planetary positions.
It certainly would be easier for all if vibrations were
simply black and white but that is not how they operate.

I do think it’s definitely worthwhile to present this

material and realize that we should not neglect that which
the ancients studied and passed down to us. Although there
has been a run of more popular books lately delineating them,
some far more academically written then this one. Again, what
is presented herein is intended to be a more basic
delineation and sharing the charts I have in my possession.

The Batman Theatre Massacre
On July 20, 2012 during the premier of the latest Batman
movie in a Denver suburb of Colorado, James Holmes decided to
gun down whoever he could in the crowded theatre. The young
man was born on December 13th, 1987.  He had been a lonely
troubled young man who attended a local University and
resided not far from the theatre. Beforehand he had dyed his
hair bright orange reminiscent some said, to the Joker
character in the original Batman movie.

James Holmes was born in San Diego and once worked as an

intern in the Salk Institute of Biological Studies. James had
also been a member of a few honor societies in college. What
happened that day or the months preceding the murders is
still being hotly debated.

When we look at his natal chart time of birth being

unknown, we see that he has Toro the asteroid numbered 1685
whose keywords are laden with rage, brutality, violence and
aggressive martial arts.

Toro is opposed to fixed star Algol at 25°24 Scorpio

and on the day of the shootings, was exactly opposed to the
Black Moon Lilith which conjunct this fixed star at 24° 02
minutes Taurus or well within one degree orb of an exact
opposition.

Ironically, the midnight screening of this movie was

called “The Dark Knight Rises” and by the time it was all
over with, there were 12 dead and 58 injured according to the
Denver Post.

The Arabic Point of Fatality falls in the 4th foundation

house of endings for the event chart at this hour conjunct
the Sun within one degree orb, whereas, the Black Moon Lilith
is clearly seen in the event in the 1st house conjunct fixed
star Algol.

CHAPTER 7: Personalities
Actor Vic Morrow
While starring in a movie based on the old hit
television series the Twilight Zone, a helicopter accident
took his life and decapitated him at the age of 53.
Examination of his 8th house shows Venus as the lord of his
8th, found in the 7th with Uranus and opposed to the
ascendant. William Lilly spoke of a harmful effect if the
ruler of the 8th opposes the ASC. Sadly for him and his loved
ones, Vic Morrow had the North Node in Algol  in the 8th
house of death.
Jayne Mansfield
The buxom blonde 1950s actress and her children were
riding in the back seat of an open air convertible with her
boyfriend.  He was driving when the vehicle spun out of
control hit by another and she was nearly decapitated in the
accident. Her natal Vertex in the 5th within 4 degrees of the
6th house cusp was experiencing a transit by Neptune  when
the accident took her life. The vertex opposes Algol and the
anti-vertex while her progressed moon and progressed
Mercury were both conjunct Algol at 26 Taurus.
Singer Ricky Nelson
This multi-talented young man was a 1960s rock and roll
singer who got his first big break on his parents TV series
called the Ozzie and Harriett Show during the late 1950s and
early 1960s.

He was born to a father who was a minister at a small

church and his parents had their own small production company
so they produced their own wholesome TV show. The series
called Ozzie and Harriet, about a married couple with two
boys, older son David and younger by a few years was Ricky,
and the show was an instant hit.

Ricky was born with a lucky full 9th house stellium of

Jupiter, Mercury  Saturn  the Sun and Uranus. But
unfortunately, his MC was smack on Algol  at 25 degrees
Taurus  57 minutes and his ASC was conjunct the fixed star
Regulus. He enjoyed quite a few years of fame with the
Regulus signature.

When his small light plane hit the side of a mountain he

was having a transit of the Black Moon  Lilith  over his
natal MC and over the Sun and Uranus where Algol was nearby.
Singer Buddy Holly
Another early rock and roll singer from the 1950s who
inspired the Beatles died in a plane crash tragically one
snowy Christmas Eve.  His natal Black
Moon Lilith reflected well those fears he didn’t confront
perhaps also a fear of flying, that followed him most of his
life, and BML was also conjunct Algol.  Lilith will bring
out in conscious life, those things we suppress and fear the
most. This is why the Black Moon is often termed a shadow for
it follows but does not seem to penetrate our consciousness
until it is triggered in a pertinent astrological way.
Lilith seems to be more connected to the unconscious mind, as
it must have been when Ricky Nelson and Buddy Holly both died
in plane crashes.   Holly had a fear of flying, but Rick
Nelson held a pilot’s license and flew his own small plane
when he crashed with his girlfriend onboard as well as a few
other musicians.
Singer Ritchie Valens
This rock and roll singer along with the Big Bopper and
Buddy Holly all died together when their small plane crash
during a snow storm. Ritchie was the youngest of the group
and had recently had made a big hit in the country with his
“La Bamba” recording.  This flight was one that he didn’t
want to take for he also had a serious fear of flying.  It
was said, he “won the coin toss” for the limited number of
seats that night in a blinding storm and that is why he was
on the five seater flight that hit the side of a mountain.
He also has the misfortune of the 8th house of death ruled
by Venus  and Venus found in the 3rd was conjunct Algol  as
was his natal Jupiter. Usually, we’d see Venus and Jupiter
the two benefics, Jupiter referred to as the greater the
other being Venus, the lesser benefic bringing better luck
into our life. Surely it’s reflected in his 3rd house of
singing and communications; he was able to bring the world
his songs and music. But the wild card in the natal chart for
Valens was his lethal connection to Algol even though it was
brought about via Jupiter and Venus which may seem strange
when we don’t consider the fixed stars.   Algol vibrations
still insist upon assimilation in one form or another without
regard for our limited black and white understandings of good
and bad results.

The natural ruler of the 8th house is Mars  and he did

have Mars conjunct his ASC in the 1st which was square to
both Jupiter  and Uranus.  Algol  brought his end via an
accident and completely unforeseen fatal event just as we’d
ascribe to Uranus type events.
Werner Von Braun
The ex-Nazi rocket scientist Von Braun; became a
favorite in the American media of the 1940s post WW2 era when
he was brought to the United States to work on the new rocket
science going on at Los Alamos in New Mexico. Our government
sought out only the best and considered him ahead of his
time.

Von Braun was born on March 23, 1912 in Wyrzysk Poland

at 9:15 AM when the Moon was located on the 26th degree of
Taurus  22 minutes and shone a harmonious Trine aspect to
Uranus. Uranus is thought to rule rockets and space
technologies.

Prior to coming to the United States, he had once sworn

Allegiance to the Nazi Regime   rising to the rank of
Sturmbannfuhrer, SS- yet for his knowledge he was still
extremely valuable to the American government which wanted to
be first in rocket science. They put him to work at NASA
where he was instrumental in the development of the Saturn V
Rocket that was used in the Apollo manned moon missions.

Donald Tarter of the Institute for Historical Review

said the following of Dr. von Braun :  “The Second World
War produced two great and memorable scientific and
technological teams: the German Peenemunde rocket team under
the direction of Dr. Werner von Braun, and the American Los
Alamos atomic bomb team under the direction of Dr. J. Robert
Oppenheimer. Taken together, the contributions of these teams
created the post-war capability for intercontinental nuclear
warfare. These teams, working in different countries under
radically different political systems, encountered severe
political difficulties during and after the war.”
“Affecting the multitudes”, is another attribute of
Algol, and hopefully for the betterment of mankind, not
warfare as is far too often the case. For Van Braun, it was
his natal position of the Moon which inclined him towards
Algol’s destructiveness.   Unquestionably the rockets that
he helped design especially the B 1 rockets have caused a

Patrick Swayze
Patrick Swayze, a movie star and extremely talented
dancer in the hit movie “Dirty Dancing” was the son of a
dance instructor who owned her own studio. With movies such
as “Ghost” and “Uncommon Valor” Patrick had a very
successful run of it for many years. He died at age 57, the
month following his solar return.

Swayze battled pancreatic cancer, and he truly thought

he was winning with his positive attitude when we saw his
interviews on the T.V., yet it consumed him in the end.  In
this way, he reminded me of the late actor from “Little
House on the Prairie” and “Bonanza” fame, Michael Landon
who often repeated on television late night shows, the
mantras of positive thinking hoping for a blessing in the
end.  Landon had his Moon located 28 Taurus, and succumbed
to inoperable liver and pancreatic cancer in 1991.  He
stayed positive to the very end that he would find a way to
prolong the life. So too Patrick Swayze who never gave up and
was really admired for this trait even when he must have been
in pain to give the hope to many others suffering when they
saw his attitude was not one of doom or gloom.

In Patrick’s natal chart, we find that he has an array

of influences, Algol is one of them and it opposes his natal
Mars 24 Scorpio 40 minutes and is a vital part of a T Square
with the Sun and Jupiter, all in close orb.

It was reported in his biographies, that he was one who

liked adventure and lived close to the edge, almost fearless
in some of his athletic interests. Horseback riding was the
cause of at least 12 surgeries for reconstruction of broken
limbs. Ironically, Michael Landon likewise loved riding
horses and adventure and did this for a living in his TV
series.  Both were personalities in fixed Sun signs; Patrick
in Leo and Michael’s in Scorpio.

For Patrick, his Sun was in the critical 25th degree of

Leo, and his Mercury was Retrograde at 15 Leo conjunct the
notorious fixed star Dubhe, which is also considered quite
critical. These however, add up to some negativity in the
vibrations overall, but in and of themselves, do not suggest
an early demise nor the accidents and illness which plagued
him in his middle years.

When Patrick Swayze succumbed to cancer at age 57, he

was experiencing a transit that formed a square from
transiting Saturn at 24:39 Virgo to his MC 24:30 Gemini, and
IC angle 24:30 Sagittarius as well a sextile to his natal
Mars  within one minute. Swayze had been experiencing
Transiting Jupiter Neptune and Chiron which happened to be
24 Aquarius at this time and square to his natal Jupiter 20
degrees Taurus potentially, had activated or triggered that
opposition to his Mars (and therefore Algol’s vibration).
Having had Sagittarius at the IC, his home life and
foundation house, we will always recall his adventurous
nature and skillful dance styles in this fire sign.
Chuck Woolery
TV Game Show Host of Wheel of Fortune was the host of
the Dating Game and other well received long running TV shows
which made him a millionaire.

His successful 1968 Billboards top 40 hit, "Naturally

Stoned," brought him a part in a film which then led to a
guest appearance on The Merv Griffin Show. Griffin paved the
way to his success with a job as host of the Wheel of
Fortune. This brought instant fame to the man and made him a
household name.

He’s been married 4 times and one might wonder whether

or not Algol at the MC square his DC or Marriage house may
have played a role in the demise of so many marriages in his
relationship house.

He also has the planet of extremes and often a dynamic

separating force, Uranus conjunct Algol  here within 3
degrees of the MC and Regulus at the ASC at 0 Virgo. Hard to
say, but my hunch says yes, he is integrating the harshness
of this vibration, and hopefully now with his 4th marriage
under his belt and life’s experiences, to the benefit of the
life.

Doug Henning magician
Doug Henning died young at age 57.   He spent most of
his adult life infatuating the world with his magic tricks.
Billing himself as an illusionist in the tradition of Harry
Houdini, it was his desire to do the Water Torture escape for
which Houdini was known. After 8 months of preparation
Henning came to the attention of the NBC producers who signed
him to perform on television.

He premiered in his own TV Show in 1975 called “Doug

Henning and His World of Magic”, bringing an astounding 50
million viewers to the TV that evening. Although he
successfully completed the Water Torture Act, he did not
break Houdini’s record for time under water.

Doug Henning stopped performing and became involved with

the Transcendental Meditation Movement and its controversial
self-proclaimed leader, guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He became
well known after the Beatles along with Prudence and Mia
Farrow, along with a few of the girlfriends of the Beatles
visited India and brought his name back to the Western world.

Doug Henning, then married to his 2nd wife joined the

group. Apparently he was taken enough with the man and his
ideas of levitation as his own mantra on his TV appearance
and guest stints always ended with “As the mind can conceive
of, so shall you do it”…or words to that effect. He seemed
to believe wholeheartedly that someday he would defy the laws
of gravity and learn to levitate.

Henning so believed in this Guru the Maharishi that he

invested heavily of his time, energy and money in his
visions. It was reported that he purchased a tract of land to
build a magical theme park devoted to Vedic themes, and in
Brazil a building complete with flying Yogic flyers as they
termed the acrobat act. The land he purchased is reported to
have been near Orlando Florida, where the famous Disneyworld
Epcot Center resides and he purchased an equal amount of land
in Ontario near Niagara Falls.  I don’t believe any of this
came to fruition however, and may have been only a pipe dream
in the end,  as Doug Henning died shortly thereafter at age
52 in 2000 of liver cancer.

In 1992, Henning and Transcendental Meditation founder,

the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi drafted plans for a $1.5 billion-
dollar project called "Maharishi Veda Land" near Niagara Fall
Ontario that would " combine astonishing, unique visual and
sensory effects, state-of-the-art 3D imagery, and ultra-high-
tech entertainment technology with his best and most original
magic illusion secrets".  The billing advertisement went on
to say:

“Maharishi Veda Land was conceived as a magical

Himalayan setting where visitors would be wowed with
theatrical presentations of ancient Vedic stories and “the
deepest secrets of the universe.    Attractions were to
include a building suspended above water and a journey into
the heart of a rose but as of 2000 the project's status was

Much controversy ensued after his demise as his friend
and fellow magician, the Amazing Randi, accused the Mahareshi
of influencing Henning to the detriment of his health, as he
was only eating nuts and berries. Randi didn’t believe that
Doug had to die so very young and blamed the guru for
brainwashing his naive friend.   [James Randi SWIFT Feb. 8,

Doug Henning as with all of us, did have an array of
certain vibrations to contend with in his natal chart promise
which included his natal Jupiter in Scorpio   opposed to
Algol at 24degrees  retrograde when born.

His natal North Node had entered the Pleiades, and all
that may imply which doesn’t add up to a lot of great
Jupiterian luck without an extreme amount of hardship thrown
in for good measure and benefit of the soul.  Perhaps he
attained some of this lesson through the association he made
with this guru, which seemed to have led him away towards
another path of reality.

The Mahareshi Yogi did not have a planetary signature of

Algol  in his natal although we are not privileged to his
time of birth for the angles, and he lived till age 90, yet
his natal Saturn is quite mind numbing for the sheer number
of squares and oppositions posited as well as Saturn
retrograde 27 Cancer and in the sign of Saturn’s
detriment. Maharishi’s Saturn also opposed the Sun in
Capricorn, hence opposing it is own ruler ship as well as
conjoined his South Node.

We can only ponder the heavier meaning of this when

compared to the synastry with the much younger and perhaps
quite naïve  protégé, (Neptune retrograde in Libra conjunct
fixed star Vindemiatrix, and opposed to Venus) Mr. Doug
Henning.
Actor Ryan O’Neal
Ryan O’Neal originally of soap opera fame for the TV
series Peyton Place, later starred in the hit movie “Love
Story” in 1970 which launched his career into the big screen
instead of just a TV series which he had been known for in
the past. He received an Academy Award for his performance
and then starred in the movie “Paper Moon” with his young
daughter from his first marriage, the actress Tatum O’Neal.

Sadly Ryan admitted he was not in any way a good father.

His daughter wrote a scathing biography crediting her father
with her introduction to drugs from parties he would take her
to as a young child.  Tatum’s life was far from normal due
to her constant drug use.   From a ruined first marriage,
which she claimed was quite abusive to her relationship with
the temperamental tennis pro John McEnroe with whom she bore
3 children before their split after 8 tumultuous years.

Ryan O’Neal’s 2nd child from his first marriage was a

son Griffin born one year after Tatum. Ryan has been
estranged for many years from his adult children. They
claimed he was abusive and would fly into rages, which
including police intervention a few times. Needless to say,
Mr. O’Neal’s life has been a topsy-turvy one from all
accounts and biographies written.

His 3rd child was born after the divorce from Tatum and
Griffin’s mother, and his new love Farrah Fawcett the
photogenic actress; bore him a son they named Redmond. They
nicknamed him “Red” because of his red hair no doubt, and
his mother was extremely close to her son.

Farrah’s fondest hope was for a full recovery for her

son before her death from his drug woes that seem to plague
him for so many years.

When we check Ryan O’Neal’s natal chart to see what

possibly could be pointing to all this turmoil in a life that
otherwise has been so very blessed monetarily and with much
material fame, we find that his 11th house Stellium includes
Uranus at 24 Taurus 40 minutes conjunct to Jupiter, the
planet of always too much of something or other and in this
case, spoiled by Uranus.  In Ryan O’Neal’s case, his natal
Jupiter also squares Mars  in the dreaded 8th house of
obsession in Aquarius, hence the seeming inability to bond
properly or much at all with his 3 children in a proper
fashion of reliable and consistent fatherhood.  We may point
to his 4th house Neptune  25th degree which is quincunx the
26th degree Moon in Aquarius, and may make a point here. Yet
there is no denying that Algol  in his case has become an
undermining and strong vibration as well.

For O’Neal’s 3rd and youngest child, his son Redmond

O’Neal born January 30, 1985 at 2:25AM in L.A. California,
who like his father; suffered from extremes of drug
problems., we need not look too far either when we see that
the 6th house of everyday mundane life, a cadent and weaker
house has his Moon conjunct Algol in the 24th degree. Algol
plagues his father in his chart as well, but in Redmond’s
chart, it’s the Moon with the North Node in the same degree.

To complicate matters, Redmond has his Saturn  (symbol

symbolizing often a literal missing dad in the 12th house or
a father who is busy elsewhere and another undermining
factor)  Saturn in our charts is usually depicting structure
when well positioned which for Redmond it is not doing so in
the 12th house opposed to his Moon, the NN and Algol.
Saturn (a restricting force) in the 12th also points
to the many times he has been either incarcerated or in a
rehab facility for the 12th house rules larger institutions
such as these are in a confining way.

For Redmond this array of harsh planetary angles and

degrees in signs also finds an augmentation of harsh vibes
from fixed star Scheat which conjuncts his 4th house
Venus and Mars, both at 27Pisces.

The feelings for his mother cannot be denied, as he

loved her very much and wants to make her proud. I hope for
his sake, he succeeds someday.
Martha Stewart
The multi-talented Martha was born August 3rd, 1941
and built an empire devoted to her brand name and personality
on everything from home and garden products to bedding and
even office furniture, and in just about every area you’ll
find something brandishing her name on it. Kmart and Sears
stores were the first to outfit Martha with a deal too good
to be true. She had her first major break with her own TV
show which highlighted her special way of living, cooking and
it was called “Lifestyle” followed by a magazine for her
fans to follow her style.

She has had both ups and downs in her life but manages
to come out of it standing taller and seemingly stronger for
the wear. There was a short respite out of the public eye
years ago when she was caught and prosecuted and spent a
short time in prison for security fraud and obstruction of
justice. Even in prison she made the best of a bad situation.
Forbes estimated her net worth in 2011 as being in the
neighborhood of $638 million dollars.

For Martha, it is her natal Saturn  in her 7th house

conjunct Uranus that is harmed by its location with Algol at
27degrees Taurus. Her husband fell in love with a trusted
employee of Martha’s who of course felt quite betrayed by
both of them and who could blame her. It certainly didn’t
help either that she was born with Venus ruler of the 7th in
the 11th at 9 Virgo conjunct the fixed star Alioth. Some call
this star’s degree the “body in the ditch”.

Saturn is also quincunx her Moon 25 Sagittarius in the

2nd house and Martha parties on. It is easier to understand
why she is such a social butterfly with a Sagittarius Moon
sign.  She does have one daughter and tons of friends and a
very active social life. So I don’t think Algol has a lot
of influence beyond that bad episode with the 1st and only
husband.

Martha was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in

2011, and for that little girl from Nutley New Jersey,
that’s quite an accomplishment.
Stephen King
Stephen King was born 9/21/1947 with the North
Node conjunct “Algol” is a writer of at least fifty
fictional stories many turned into motion pictures, and are
very popular. He had his own true life horror encounter when
he was suddenly run down by a moving vehicle while he was
walking down a rural road close to his home in June of 1999.
The doctors considered amputating his leg as the bones were
severely crushed, but after a series of 5 operations in 10
days they were able to save the leg.  This event has forced
him to slow down his life and activity, clearly a life
altering event.

In 2003 further drama occurred, when a stalker emerged

and Stephen’s wife saw him outside their home. He was the
same man and illegal immigrant from the Czech Republic, said
to be leaving notes in the King’s family mailbox. The Police
were called and a court case ensued. It must have been a
horror story to both Stephen King and his wife until the man
was curtailed by the courts to leave them alone.[Parade

John Lennon
I’m sure everyone knows about John Lennon of the
Beatles fame, at least anyone over the age of 30. Born
10/9/1940, he was raised by a beloved aunt after his mother
reportedly gave him over to her sister and brother-in-law. He
once wrote a song he entitled “ Mother” addressing this pain
of missing her which he never really got over. When I watch
this video I sense unresolved anger as he recalls being a
child abandoned by both his mother and father.  This was his
early life he sings about. Did he take it out on both of his
wives, this anger and pent up rage?  Of course only he
himself could answer this question, but I believe it is very
possible once we read of his merry go round existence of mood
swings with Aries rising whose ruler is Mars.

After marrying his 2nd wife Yoko Ono, a bohemian

artist from New York, they settled down to a life of rock and
roll, drugs and peace activism during the brutal Vietnam War
era which tore apart his adopted country. After their 1st and
only child was born, John became a house-husband and doting
father. Becoming a father once again many years after the
birth of his first son from his prior marriage named Julian,
appears to have been a very positive life altering event; he
abstained from drugs and alcohol thereafter. A new album
emerged around this time, but before he could continue his
comeback he was gunned down by a fan asking for an autograph
in front of their Dakota brownstone home. The deranged fan,
Mark David Chapman insisted he shot him because Lennon did
not live a life consistent with his music and words. This was
his only reasoning for taking John Lennon’s life.

John Lennon had Algol  conjunct his natal chart Uranus

at 25 Taurus  33 minutes retrograde, and square to Venus.
He died at the age of 40.

CHAPTER 8: Assassination
President Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth
President Abraham Lincoln was shot in Ford’s theatre by
John Wilkes Booth. John Wilkes Boothe was a young actor from
a well-known Shakespearean acting family who often performed
in Ford’s Theatre; and during this attack, Algol  was
triggered in the President’s natal Chart.

President Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 at 6:54 AM

in Hodgenville Kentucky when the Black Moon Lilith  was in
his 3rd house at 26 degrees Taurus  18 minutes and partile
conjunct this malefic fixed star. Because it is the Black
Moon it’s very unlikely that the President ever feared for
his life in a conscious way, although he was known to have a
dream showing him his death he spoke of prior to the actual
occurrence. This is the nature of the shadow Lilith, which
haunts us in life, yet we aren’t at all conscious of her
hauntings. In the dream, the President related to his friend
Ward Hill Lamon that the President heard “the subdued sobs
of mourners” and he saw a “corpse lying in the East room of
the White House”.  In this dream, he asked a soldier
standing guard “Who is dead in the White House?”   To which
the soldier replied, “The President, he was killed by an
assassin”.  Source: History Channel, “This Day in History
April 4, 1865”
The President had told Lamon, the dream had “slightly
annoyed him” ever since. His dream became a reality 10 days
later, when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth.  Black
Moon Lilith works all the time in the subconscious realms,
and Algol connected to her was the worse result we can
imagine for this beloved President who brought about the end
of slavery in America.

John Wilkes Booth had long conspired with others to

assassinate Lincoln, for he was a fierce Confederate
sympathizer from Maryland where many supported slavery and
states’ rights. President Lincoln declared martial law in
Maryland during the Civil War which only made Booth and his
cohorts more determined to retaliate. The original idea was
to kidnap the President and hold him until all Confederate
prisoners were released. After hearing that the president and
Mrs. Lincoln would be attending a performance of “My
American Cousin “at Ford’s Theater, the plan changed to
murder. On the evening of April 15, 1865 when Venus  was
transiting over Mr. Lincoln’s natal 3rd house Black
Moon Lilith, at 25 degrees 39 minutes Taurus, Booth came to
Ford’s Theater. His presence at Ford’s Theater was nothing
unusual since he performed there often, once when Mr. and
Mrs. Lincoln were in attendance at the play “Marble Heart”.

President Lincoln was shot from behind, so more than

likely he never saw his assailant. After the fatal shot was
fired, Boothe an able young man, jumped from the Presidential
box to the stage and yelled "Sic semper tyrannis" (Latin for
'Thus always to tyrants). It has long been debated whether he
broke his leg doing so, or perhaps it happened later in an
accident while escaping on his horse, which he had rented
from a nearby stable.

It isn’t Algol alone at work here. Mr. Lincoln had

Algol  located in the natal chart did have that strike
against him, or more properly described, a vibration that
doesn’t work as a benefit. The negative aspect of Algol is
supported by in the natal chart by Uranus at 9 Scorpio 40
minutes and the MC conjunct Antares  another violent fixed
star, located 7 Sagittarius 47 minutes. This puts the
Midpoint for Mr. Lincoln firmly in the eye of Algol.  Hence,
when Venus transited over his Black Moon it also triggered
this area of the Midpoint bringing about the natal promise.
Booth made the decision not to kidnap but rather to kill the
President as he did that night. He was known as an erratic
person, and Uranus fits well his personality.

I don’t believe in the natal promise is necessarily a

pre-determined fixed event but rather more likely it is a
strong probability of certain types of events coming to
fruition.
To understand John Wilkes Booth we will turn to his
natal chart. He was born May 10, 1838 in a suburb community
of Baltimore in Harford County, Maryland. He was from a
family of means and had the resources to keep a second summer
home in Baltimore City.

John Wilkes Booth was born with Saturn  at 25 degrees

Scorpio 56 minutes on the cusp of his 2nd house of values,
opposite natal Zeus (a warrior) at 24 Taurus 25 minutes and
natal Mercury at 29 degrees 32 minutes Taurus. Saturn as we
know often speaks of woe and karma for those who believe in
such things. Saturn we associate with time and therefore
Chrono’s is another name given to Saturn. The adjective
“chronological” is derived from the root word Chronos or
Kronos in Greek. When the young John Wilkes Booth shot Mr.
Lincoln, he had not yet reached his first Saturn Return which
occurs around age 29 or just before one’s 30th birthday.

The location of his natal Saturn when he was born also

puts Algol right in the crosshairs.  As his fate would have
it, the midpoint of Mercury  and Zeus, is opposed to his
Saturn.

When he made that fateful decision not to kidnap, but to

shoot the President that night, the Moon was located at the
25th degree of Scorpio, potentially the trigger as was the
opposing transit mentioned earlier of the planet Venus.

Was it fate that put these two men together in the

theatre that evening in Washington DC?  I suppose it didn’t
help either, that his natal Moon, his emotional nature, was
intrinsically tied up with Saturn in a conjunction when the
Moon went over the planet. So yes, perhaps it was a fated
meeting of these two in a darkened theatre in 1865.
Regardless, Booth made a conscious choice, and that choice
forever changed history.

Martin Luther King Jr.
MLK as many called him was born Jan. 15, 1929 12 PM in
Atlanta Georgia to a pastor and his wife, Pastor King of the
Ebenezer Baptist Church where his son would eventually preach
and gain a following in the 1960s.  Martin won the Kennedy
Peace Prize and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his stance
against wars, racial injustice and poverty. He adopted the
Hindu mantra of peaceful protest that had been exemplified by
Mahatma Gandhi before him.

When Martin was assassinated, transiting Black

Moon  Lilith  was approaching a conjunction with his natal
North Node located 28 Taurus  and transiting Neptune  was
surreptitiously moving towards an opposition with Algol  in
his 7th house of others. We will never know if the others,
which this indicates, involved more than the lone gunman for
James Earl Ray the assassin admitted that someone else paid
his way.

The King family always maintained that James Earl Ray

was set-up and used by a covert gang within the United States
government.  J. Edgar Hoover the then chief of the F.B.I.
considered him a threat to America, and maintained an
extensive file on his movements, even in his private life.

The 12th house is the house of hidden agendas and hidden

enemies. Surely transiting Neptune  over his 7th house is
telling us something here, for it triggered the South Node
and therefore by extension, Algol  in his natal chart.
Neptune is often associated with deception, and rules movies
and film. The F.B.I. sent a very damaging reel of tape to
both King and his wife in 1964, urging him to commit suicide
and do the nation a favor and calling him a fraud.
As the saying goes, nothing happens of great importance
in the transits or progressions that isn’t first predicted
in the natal promise.

Coretta Scott King, the wife of Martin Luther King Jr.,

had her asteroid Juno, today’s representation of her
marriage partner, conjunct the fixed star Algol. This may
well suggest that her partner would be fated to experience
something in life connected with the star Algol. Transiting
Black Moon Lilith went over her natal Juno when her husband
was assassinated during his visit to Memphis, Tennessee in
support of the striking city Garbage Union employees. The
tragedy and loss of such a horrific event might be said; to
be part of the fate for Mrs. King and the one she married.

John Hinckley - Assassination Attempt on President
Reagan

A 1989 psychiatric evaluation report from the public

court documents on Mr. Hinckley stated: "The issues of poor
judgment, need for ego-gratification through the media,
isolation from others at all but a superficial level,
grandiosity, suspiciousness, defiance in the face of
narcissistic injury, refusal to accept responsibility for his
actions other than in a fleeting way, emotional volatility,
tendency to lie, lack of empathy for others, sense of
entitlement - all remain as unresolved therapeutic issues."
[1]
John Hinckley, the scion of a rich well to do Republican
family, had his natal Uranus at the 29th degree of Scorpio,
which is opposite Alcoyne, the fixed star when he was born.
It is also appropriate to consider Algol when we see this
fixed star so close by.

Although the aspects that Uranus makes in his natal

chart at the time of his birth are traditionally thought of
as harmonious such as the Trine and Sextile we should not
fool ourselves into thinking that Hinckley’s darker nature
overcame him because of Uranus, being the planet of the
extremes. His radical behavior has nothing to do with the
harmony of the planets connected to his Uranus; rather, it
has more to do with the demon star’s opposition to Uranus
made more radical in a negative manner.

He was seeking the attention of a movie star Jodie

Foster by utilizing an unorthodox method in attempting to
assassinate a United States President. The President at the
time was Ronald Reagan and thereby assassinating him,
Hinckley would become an instant media figure. Through this
one act he would be catapulted into being as well known as
the object of his affection, Jodie Foster. And somehow in his
mind this would lead to reciprocal affections of Miss
Foster.

Thus in this case of John Hinckley, Uranus and its

vibration affected by Algol indeed played a significant role
in his life. Rather than the traditional adjectives we assign
to the higher vibration of Uranus such as seen in the natal
chart of Nikola Tesla the brilliant scientist, adjectives
such as “brilliance, innovative and cutting edge”.

It would not be accurate to say that everyone with this

placement would be a negative person strictly based upon
Algol in the chart even with the uniqueness of Uranus. Rather
the vibration itself, may cast a more inharmonious effect
towards the one to whom it is connected. Instead during the
life it may manifest itself in an entirely different manner
in which there is no control by the one who bears such an
imprint.  Uranus is also the planet known for the unexpected
event. In his case, the harmony of Jupiter to his Uranus
simply expanded the extremes and eccentricity within the man.

When we study the fixed stars it is important to

remember we should not characterize the potential of the
effect in a strictly black and white fashion. For example,
Nikola Tesla a brilliant but eccentric electrical scientist
born July 10, 1856 in Serbia, also had his Uranus opposed to
Algol. In his case this placement was manifested in his
extreme eccentricities. For more about Tesla and his natal
chart see - [ “Astrology of the Inventors: The Men” by
D.M.Hoover kindle amazon]
In the natal chart for John Hinckley, he also had the
unfortunate luck to be born to a 22nd degree Ascendant, the
degree of self-undoing in the sign of Leo accompanied by the
more critical 25th degree of Leo for his natal Vesta. He saw
the apple of his eye Jodi Foster, Miss Jodi Foster the young
actress who had starred in the movie Taxi and Vesta in his
natal chart is considered to be virgin in the Roman myth of
the goddess. Hinckley wrote to Jodie Foster often regarding
her virginity and why she needed to maintain it.

Of course the mental illness he exhibited had nothing to

do with Algol, that can be seen by his Natal Neptune square
Uranus and the Black Moon, which happens to conjunct the
violence prone Antares at 9 Sagittarius. However, the manner
of such an extreme way of exhibiting the violence may have
more to do with Algol’s influence when taken all together
with Antares. Uranus the planet of the extremes is semi-
square to his Sun as well as its square to Neptune gives us
more the well rounded idea of the delusional nature of the
young man as he was then. Hopefully after most of his
adulthood spent in the Psychiatric Hospital, he has improved
over time.

His last letter to her dated the day of the

assassination attempt on March 30th, 1981 at 12:45PM and was
posted by the Atlantic Magazine and starts with the
salutation :

“Dear Jodie:   “There is a definite possibility that

I will be killed in my attempt to get
Reagan. It is for this very reason that I am writing
you this letter now.
As you well know I love you very much. Over the past 7
months I’ve left you dozens of poems, letters and love
messages in the faint hope that you would develop an interest
in me. Although we talked on the phone a couple of times, I
never had the nerve to simply approach you and introduce
myself.”
After a few more paragraphs expressing his admiration
and love for her, he ends with:

“I will admit to you that the reason I’m going ahead

with this attempt now, is that I just cannot wait any longer
to impress you”
He signed it:  “I love you forever, John Hinckley”

James Brady

James Brady – Reagan’s White House Press Secretary

President Reagan’s Press Secretary was shot in the head
during the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. He was
permanently disabled by the shooting having lost the ability
to walk and forever more confined to a wheelchair. He was
still lucky he did not lose his life that day as he was shot
in the head by John Hinckley in his quest for attention.
Brady managed to live quite a few more decades and with his
wife, as spokespeople against guns.

When we review Brady’s natal chart, we find as might be

expected; some harsh vibrations from the fixed stars among
them Algol, partile conjunct his natal Uranus. Uranus
symbolizes surprises and the extremes in life.  Uranus is in
the sign of its detriment in Taurus and is also square to
Mercury, his cognitive skills. His natal Moon, Juno and
Chiron are all conjunct fixed star Procyon, in Canis Minor
often referred to as the Lesser Dog.

When we look at the shooter John Hinckley’s chart, we

see that his Uranus and Jupiter are also conjunct this fixed
star. There is a celestial connection here between Hinckley
and Brady, the planet Uranus symbolic of the unexpected and
often volatile extremes for one. This is connected with James
Brady’s Juno, Vesta and Chiron. Juno when not symbolizing a
partner such in cases of marriage or a love interest, can
also be a stalker as in this case and as seen in many crimes
charts. This may be because of the lust or even jealousy, as
Carl Jung the psychologist taught about Juno being connected
to both Venus and the Moon.

CHAPTER 9: Terrorism
Boston
Marathon
"Deformed and dreadful, and a sign of woe." — Bryant's
translation of the Iliad. = Al-ghoul
The Boston Marathon Bombings occurred at approximately 2:57 PM
on April 15 th , 2013. Besides being the day of the Boston marathon;
April 15 th is the traditional federal income tax deadline date in
the United States.

The fixed star Fomalhaut located in the tropical

position of 3 Pisces is on the DC cusp, and Neptune  rules
the 7th of the perpetrator in the event chart.  Neptune can
symbolize many things, among them fanatics, zealots, even the
navy. However the type of crime this was, rules out the navy
and warships. Boston is the home of the infamous Boston Tea
Party of 1773 which was instigated by those who were opposing
taxes on tea imports the Sons of Liberty as they dubbed
themselves. On the night of December 16, 1773, they disguised
themselves as Indians of the Mohawk tribe to board 3 ships
which were moored in Boston Harbor and when they did, they
destroyed over 92,000 pounds of tea. The unpopular policy and
taxes imposed by Britain on her American colonies became the
straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back.

Thus it’s rather interesting to ponder the

possibilities of the Boston Marathon Bombings, both for the
where and the why.  We can use the art of astrology to help
us gain some insight.

Immediately we know that the MC or Midheaven at this

specific point in time; was conjunct the dubious fixed star
Algol at 26 degrees Taurus 35minutes, almost exact to this
fixed star which suggests a greater intensity of energy being
seen here.

The intent of the bombers we later learned was to cause

as many “piled up corpses” as possible. The bombs were
laced with metal and ball bearings, intended to maim those
that were not killed in the initial blast.

Dzhokhar Tsaraev -The Boston Bomber

The Younger Bomber - brother Dzhokhar Tsaraev
Dzhokhar’s older brother died in the aftermath of the
Boston Bombing, while trying to escape the police. The
younger brother Dzhokhar managed to escape and he was found
hiding in a boat under a tarp and on the side of a house.
With night vision and help from the National Guard, the
police managed to find him after the home owner thought there
was blood leading to the boat and called 911.  This young
man, taken into custody without incident, has a startling
combination merger of Neptune with Uranus. Neptune as we know
often is delusionary and with Uranus, the planet of the
extremes and quirky behaviors, became the downfall for him as
he meekly was said to have followed  his older brother
according to friends and intimates who called him a “puppy
dog”.

However with Pluto opposing Algol the planet of

destruction with this fixed star’s reputation, he was not
the meek puppy dog some believed.

His natal Jupiter the planet of expansion conjunct fixed

star Vindemiatrix is also aiding and abetting his nature
towards self-destructive behaviors, as this star has a very
negative reputation.

Krystle Campbell    Victim of the Boston Bombing

Event

Krystle Campbell
Krystle died in the Boston Marathon Bombing at age 29,
just shy of her 30th birthday and first solar return which
would have occurred on May 3rd, 2013.  A lovely young soul,
her natal chart shows Algol  conjunct her Mercury which is
retrograde,  and Mercury is conjunct her Mars in Taurus. In
addition she has Chiron the asteroid which depicts our inner
wound, partile conjunct to Algol. Together, there are two
bodies aligned with this malefic fixed star. Asteroid
Lachesis, the asteroid we associate with the Moria or fate
that takes away the life, is fast approaching a conjunction
to her natal Mercury.  We’d like to believe that Krystle
did not know it was coming and she died peacefully and
quickly. She was loved by many and very well thought of by so
many coworkers, family and friends who will miss this
delightful young soul.

Timothy McVeigh

Timothy McVeigh – OK city Bomber

The Oklahoma City Bomber was born April 23, 1968 in
Lockport New York at 8:19 AM. He allowed his emotions of the
Black Moon  and Chiron to totally overrule his better
judgment and all of this before his 1st Saturn Return at age
30.

Tim McVeigh was the only son born of 3 children, to an

intact family but his mother and father divorced when he was
10 years of age.  He was close to his father who raised him
in Pendleton NY.  Most people who knew him said he was a
very withdrawn child, who was bullied in school.  According
to McVeigh’s biographer, author Dan Herbeck  he decided the
only way to retaliate was to create this fantasy world where
he designed the retaliation against the bullies. He saw the
United States Government, after his stint in the Gulf War
under the 1st George Bush  in Kuwait, to be the ultimate
bully.

It would be worth the effort I would think to consider

his natal Neptune in the birth chart because for Tim McVeigh
it opposes Algol the fixed star we are discussing to a very
exact degree, which at   25 degrees 45 minutes Scorpio is
 opposed to Algol.

The force for revenge and retaliation only grew from

childhood to adulthood and became actively worth pursuing he
said, after he had learned to kill in the United States Army.
He grew angrier when the concept of “Collateral Damage” was
introduced in the army.
“Collateral Damage” is a general term for deaths, injuries
or other damage inflicted on an unintended target in military
terminology. It is frequently used for the incidental killing
of non-combatants or civilians during a military attack.
Critics such as Timothy McVeigh of the term collateral damage
saw it as a euphemism that dehumanizes human beings. In other
words, they become a number, and in military warfare, numbers
are not people but numbers or percentages which are
acceptable in combat.

Therefore, because of his anger towards this

dehumanizing of others in the Gulf War he saw first hand, Tim
McVeigh decided on collateral damage as the means to
retaliate against American government and do the same here in
his country.   He chose the Alfred Murrah Building in
downtown Oklahoma City as his target because that was where
many of the major government agencies were housed with
hundreds of government employees.
In 1993 after leaving the Army, he traveled to Waco
Texas during the Waco Siege as a supporter of the Branch
Davidians, and went to local Waco Gun shows giving out his
card. David Koresh was the head of the Branch Davidians, a
religious cult who had stockpiled ammunition and guns in the
compound where he housed his followers and varying wives and
children, deeming himself, the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

McVeigh found that the further west he went, the more

anti-government sentiment he encountered, at least until he
got to what he called "The People's Socialist Republic of
California." [Sources: Dan Herbeck & Lou Michel “American
Terrorist” page 121 ]
Upon closer examination of Tim McVeigh’s natal birth
chart, we see a formation called the Mystic Rectangle, which
connects 4 planets or points of interest to each other. By
and large the mystic rectangle is not seen as a negative
thing to have and indeed may be quite the opposite under any
promising conditions. But McVeigh’s condition overall was
not so promising other than for havoc and mayhem, a warrior
mentality and of course the deep desire for retaliation of
“those bullies” who plagued his life, as he envisioned them
to be.

The large mystic rectangle formation for McVeigh was 25

degrees Neptune  in Scorpio, which we know opposes Algol.
That’s one strike against it operating efficiently in a
productive or positive fashion as it pointed to being
somewhat delusional.

The next planet connected to this array in the rectangle

is Mars the ruler of his Sun with the Black Moon Lilith at
23 degrees Taurus. This is getting serious now. His shadow
self or the Black Moon guiding his inner emotional life is
connected to Algol and to Mars the ruler of his Sidereal Sun
in Aries or 1st decan of Taurus in the tropical natal chart.

Now we have Neptune (the illusionary world the bullied

1st grader created for him) connecting to both the shadow
self and Mars, the assertive energy he possesses in very
close orb.  These then further connect in the rectangle to
his combination conjunction of Uranus (the extremes) and
Pluto (destroyer) which is also in a tight orb of Uranus at
25 Virgo 44 minutes. Very persnickety to the extreme, and
with Pluto at 20 degrees Virgo 32 minutes in the 4th house,
needed only the transit of Chiron (the inner wound) to touch
off the spark to Pluto’s destructive nature with Uranus to
the extreme which is exactly what he did when Transiting
Chiron 20 degrees 46 minutes RX touched his natal Pluto on
April 19th, 1995. The inner wound would be assuaged by
external magnification of hurting others which he thought
would help himself to heal, had he thought at all, which is
highly doubtful, that he ever connected the dots.

His progressed Venus  had at this time also stationed

over his natal Mars  and the Black Moon, more than likely
helping to incinerate that seething volcano inside of him,
connected to Algol’s energy.

It may also be worth noting that his natal Chiron  was

in a very critical place when he was born at 1 Aries and
opposed to Uranus. Thus it was as usual, an array of rather
lethal projected energies, which helped incline McVeigh
towards extremism, in a very violent fashion.

The 1993 World Trade Center Bombing

On February 26, 1993 at precisely 12:18 PM, a truck bomb

was detonated, weighing approximately 1336 lbs. in the North
Tower of the World Trade Center.  The bombers planned for
the explosion to topple the North Tower into the South. The
explosion fell far short of their intended goal, but they did
manage to cause over 1,000 injuries that day and 6 deaths.

Surveying the natal chart for the 1993 event we find:

Pluto was 25 degrees 31 minutes Scorpio with the Arabic

Point of an end, locating them exactly opposite Algol. The
South Node was conjunct the Arabic Point of Tragedy and
Fatality well within one degree. The 17th degree of mutable
signs is considered a critical degree and it was in the 12th
house of self-undoing.

There were at least 7 conspirators involved. Ramzi

Yousef was one of the lead conspirators; born in Kuwait City
on April 27th, 1968 Ramzi had Algol in his natal chart
conjunct his Mars and Black Moon Lilith. In addition, he had
his natal Neptune 25 Scorpio which was triggered by the
transit of Pluto when he bombed the tower. This will be
clearly marked in the event chart.  Ramzi Yousef was  also
born with the Uranus Pluto conjunction in late Virgo as well
having a  fixed T square in a tight orb of less than one
degree involving Black Moon Lilith, Neptune and Jupiter all
25 degrees. This very disturbed young man had plans to
assassinate 3 people in succession, the Pope, President
Clinton and then Benezir Bhutto the Premier of Pakistan.

Eight years later in 2001 on September 11th both World

Trade Center buildings collapsed and nearly 3000 lives were
lost after they were struck by airplanes. The evil plan
originally hatched all those years ago, finally became a
reality when on September 11th other members with the same
ideology, were successful in bringing down the two towers.

Benghazi Libya Embassy Massacre

This event took place at the American Embassy in

Benghazi Libya after the fall of Muammar Gaddafi. It  has
become a controversial event because of the fact it took
place on the 11th Anniversary of the WTC Bombings in New York
in 2001 and many politicians and others believe it may have
been averted had the embassy had more protection. Because of
the bad press Hillary Clinton who was Secretary of State at
the time received having to do with not giving enough staff
and protection to the Ambassador and ignoring his pleas, she
may have lost her bid for the 2016 Presidency to Trump. Many
people who were Democratically inclined voters, were turned
off to Hillary because of Benghazi, and of course the
Republicans used this event to remind the voters that she was
in charge at the time and even may have lied about her
involvement.

The Event chart however, precludes that opinion, as the

chart would be the same regardless of the level of
protection. We call it fate. That time of the evening when
they penetrated the walls of the embassy and got past the
guard gate was 9:40 PM local time when Algol was rising. The
Ascendant was 20 Taurus 23 minutes and the 1st house
contained the Black Moon Lilith conjunct Alcoyne. This puts
Algol in the midpoint of the two. Beyond these crucial
positions is the South Node of the Moon at 28 degrees Taurus
which was conjunct Algol and Juno was with the North Node in
the 7th house which rules known enemies.

It’s important to realize that the symbology in

astrology is often quite abstract and not literal. The 7th
house rules our known enemies, but in this region of the
world where this attack took place, we could not have
predicted which known enemies would have attacked the
embassy. There are too many of them. As it turned out, it was
people who had sympathy with the vision of Al Qaida who
managed to penetrate the barriers of all safety to the
American Embassy.

CHAPTER 10: Religious Figures
Joan of Arc
The “Maid of Orleans” Joan of Arc,  was burned at the
stake on May 30, 1431 when transiting Jupiter  was conjunct
fixed star Algol at 27 Taurus and had passed over the young
maiden’s natal Saturn.

For those who may entertain the concept of

reincarnation, the great seer of the last century, Edgar
Cayce once did a reading for a woman who had been born in a
train station, while her mother was in transit from Hamilton,
Ont., Canada to her home in Lyons, France.  His reading
stated that her twin brother was also born dead at that time,
which was true.

The train station was located in Lyons la Foret

France.  Joan had been murdered in Rouen France
approximately 21 miles to the west and St. Joan would have
been very familiar with this ancient town. For it was here
where she fought the British and helped to bring the crown to
Charles who became the King of France.

This natal chart is very revealing not to mention being

an awesome find; the reading #302-1 gives a date of birth for
the new incarnation as September 3, 1891 at 1:05 PM France
time and the chart will be presented in another eBook about
Edgar Cayce and lifetimes he gave with their natal charts of
once famous people.   According to his reading, she was
reincarnated while Jupiter  was transiting at 28 Taurus,
conjunct fixed star Algol. The North Node was also 29 Taurus,
conjunct Alcoyne.    [See her re-born natal chart in the
eBook “Edgar Cayce on Past Lives” by D.M.Hoover kindle
Amazon]
Often very difficult lives ensue when Alcoyne is
presented in the natal. The soul was reborn when Pluto and
Neptune  were conjunct within 12 minutes. This is rather
intriguing when we realize that Pluto may be indicating the
transformation from the stake to the spirit world and Neptune
her dying words were about Jesus and her sacrificing of her
life  to the Lord’s will .

And although her Neptune  and Pluto  are well placed;

conjunct fixed star Aldebaren, a Royal star of some repute
for an honor in intelligence, it has also had the reputation
of being a warrior as it opposes Antares. How appropriate for
the past life impression she carries forward to the lifetime
that takes place at the turn of the last century.

She had difficulty with men as she was a leader amongst

them in this lifetime, (again carried forward) and this is
shown by the 7th house Pluto Neptune Aldebaren positions. I
suppose her Part of Fortune located in the 1st house and
opposed to Hyades at the cusp of the 7th in the 6th didn’t
help soften her femininity in this lifetime however.

If we are to put stock into the Cayce readings, this

lady was also told she had once been the mother of Achilles
during the Trojan Wars.

Seems she often came in during historical times and I

suppose, meeting and knowing Edgar Cayce although not
historical times necessarily, she did live through both World
Wars and came out unscathed from them as far as I know in
this most recent lifetime.

I also would suppose a soul might be inclined to “pick

up where it left off” in a linear sense. If so, then we know
that Joan was burned at the stake when her natal Saturn was
also severely afflicted by Algol’s conjunction.
Now, Jupiter  returns in this position for the” new
and  revised Joan”  (as Mark Twain once wrote for his own
obituary)  Mark Twain also had a great respect for Joan of
Arc and had written a biography entitled “The Personal
Recollections of Joan of Arc” wherein, he introduces himself
as her Page and secretary. The novel was penned under a
pseudonym, a second one for Mark Twain, whose real name was
Samuel Clemens.

Marshall Applewhite
He was a Guru-like leader of the suicide cult Heaven’s
Gate along with his wife. The two of them used a variety of
alternate names such as, Bo for him and his wife was known as
Peep as in the fairy tale, “Little Bo-Peep”.   They also
used “Nincom and Poop” as well as “Tidily and Wink”. This
husband and wife team somehow managed to recruit a number of
gullible followers and ultimately the fantasies he conjured
up led them to their death.

Years ago, Lois Rodden  gave an AA Rating to Marshall

Applewhite’s birth data, as May 17, 1931, coincidentally
just 4 days after the birth of Jim Jones, another cult
leader.   His natal chart had his Sun at 25Taurus 30minutes
conjunct Algol and his Moon at 22 degrees 31 min. Taurus.

He was able to successfully convince his followers that

an alien space craft was coming for them at their San Diego
compound and it would be accompanied by a comet.
Interestingly this was the same time period when the Hale-
Bopp Comet was visible in the western skies.   The entire
group committed suicide. They honestly bought into the belief
that the craft would be awaiting them on the other side of
the bunk beds, once they laid down their mortal coils, and so
all had their tennis shoes perfectly lined up at the foot of
their beds, when the police found them dead. Very neat, very
precise very planned.

Although membership was at least 80, it was 39 members

who took their own lives with Applewhite that evening.
Perhaps he told them it was only enough seats on board the
UFO for 39 plus he and his wife.

Padre Pio

From Italy the Capuchin priest was born as Francesco

Forgione, and given the name Pio when he joined the
Capuchins; he was popularly known as Padre Pio after his
ordination. On 16 June 2002, he was made a saint and was
canonized under Pope John Paul II.

No doubt sainthood had been considered ever since the

death of Padre Pio, for he had been something of a legend
both in and outside of the Catholic Church.  Believers spoke
of his strange abilities and some even claimed that he
visited their sickrooms at night. Followers believed he had
the gift of Bi-location, the ability to be in two places at
once, or more than likely, an astral body that was projected
from his physical one. They claimed to be healed after these
encounters, sometimes the next day or even the same evening
when he appeared at their bedside. His reputation grew
rapidly because of these alleged miraculous healings
attributed to him.

Upon examination of his chart, we see his 7th house of

others, the house or part of consciousness which reflects how
we relate to others and the commitments to them, has both
Neptune, the planet which rules mysticism and Mars. The angle
of the Descendent is 27 Taurus, which conjuncts the fixed
star Algol. When we see the photographs of Padre Pio, we are
immediately struck by his hands wrapped in heavy gauze, as
they were often bleeding profusely for he bore the Stigmata
of the bleeding Christ. What was it that brought about such
an extreme expression of painful wounds upon his body while
he was alive?

There are online photos which show the wounds to his

hands, so their existence cannot be denied. However, there
has been a great deal of controversy as to whether the wounds
were self-inflicted or that they fall into the realm of the
unexplained.

In the art of Astrology, we know that Neptune often is

seen when we delude ourselves or convince ourselves of
something. If we hold onto these beliefs too securely it is
possible that these thoughts can become things, meaning we
can somehow make them come true through our thoughts. His
natal position of Mars  shows his corporal body is melded
with Neptune the mental force of the spirit. The two together
seems to also have brought him some kind of strange mysticism
that only he could see and was attuned to in his wanderings
in the spirit realms. It certainly affected those outside of
him, usually in a very positive way. Although it’s also true
according to his biography, that he was known for having
quite a temper in his younger days, perhaps too this may have
extended into his later years.  All of these traits are
taking place in the 7th house of others.

Padre Pio lived from 25 May 1887 until 23 September

1968. The first time the Stigmata of copious bleeding
occurred on his hands which was noticed by a fellow priest,
was on September 20, 1918. He was transferred to a hospital,
and they took photos of his hands at his urging. He is
reported to have lost about a cup of blood a day during the
worse days.

As I said earlier there is much controversy and some

have suggested that he was a charlatan and a fake. A book
written by Italian author Professor Sergio Luzzatto, claims
the 'stigmata' was not necessarily a miracle but in fact the
wounds may have been self-inflicted using carbolic acid.
From the Daily Mail Reporter in the UK: “In 'Padre Pio:
Miracle and Politics in a Secular Age' Professor Luzzatto
also said the Vatican declared Pio a saint only following
public pressure, according to the Sun”
From the Skeptical Inquirer, was this quote: “Padre Pio
himself responded to such theorizers: He said, “Go out to
the fields and look very closely at a bull. Concentrate on
him with all your might. Do this and see if horns grow on
your head!” [Quoted in Ruffin 1982, 150]
I must admit that when I think of his 7th house
Neptune  conjunct Mars with Algol  that there is more than
some self-hypnosis that went on, a kind of mind over matter.
Yet seeing the date of the first stigmata appearance over his
9th house and the planets involved, I’m left with the
opinion that we really will never know what went on with the
Monk.  I for one am not prepared to call him a liar or a
fraud as the astrology does not support the professor’s
opinion about self-injury with acid.

Looking at the transits and comparing them with his

natal chart for that day, we see his 9th house relating to
philosophy and religion, considered to be a spiritual house
where he had been experiencing a transit of
Jupiter  stationed within one degree conjunct his natal
Venus and transiting Pluto (transformation), along with the
Part of Fortune right over his natal Moon. Please (see
Diagram #1 below) for these important events and the
transits. He was experiencing a transit of Saturn over his
natal North Node in the 10th house, within minutes. Hence,
partile conjunct to his Node is suggestive of the purpose of
his life.

We will never truly understand what was going on with

Padre Pio internally, but we can witness for ourselves the
synastry with the planets we assign to certain traits. These
are the same planets that the ancients saw as the embodiment
of the traits of the living gods.

I think it’s noteworthy to point out that the cusp of

the 9th house is critical for him at the 0 degree of
Cancer  meaning, the Moon is the lord of this house, while
Jupiter the ruler of the 9th, and is finding favor here for
him. Of course, the rest of us may not see a bloody hand that
never heals in one’s lifetime, in this case part of the
Stigmata, as being favorable.

But for someone with Algol conjunct his Mars in the

7th house of commitments to others, it may speak of his
lifelong commitment to Christ and the suffering of the cross.
It certainly seems to me to be pointing in that direction.
After all, his Mars is exactly within one degree of his
Neptune as mentioned, both exactly on Algol.

Padre Pio died September 23rd, 1968 and it was reported

that on the day of his death, miraculously, or so it seemed
then, the stigmata disappeared leaving only a clear and
immaculate skin.  This seems to tell us that the stigmata he
lived ceased after he stopped thinking.
9 th House of Padre Pio transits
(DIAGRAM 1) - The transiting Jupiter  and Pluto  when
Stigmata first surfaced over his 9th house planets Venus and
the Moon. Additionally the transiting Part of Fortune is
applying to the cusp of the 9th, which is very critical at
the 00 degree, as is the critical and anorectic part of
fortune. After this, Part of Fortune will then trigger his
natal Moon which is also the ruler of his 9th house. This is
significant as the 9th house represents spirituality and
religion, and the moon represents emotions usually by way of
an outer catalyst.

To summarize this delineation we should attempt to

understand the deeper meaning of his natal chart which
depicts so clearly, Algol’s energies in the 7th house
relating to both his natal Neptune and Mars. When the date
of the stigmata first appeared, this area of his life was
being transformed in a deeply spiritual (Neptune) way, and
physically as well in an important (Algol - Mars) fashion
pertinent to this soul. Hence, not everyone is the same, and
Algol does not affect us all in any “one size fits all” way
either.

Therese Neumann
Neumann was another Roman Catholic stigmatic, thought by
some to be a fraud and accused of this type of fraudulent
behavior causing the stigmata, perhaps more so than Padre
Pio. However it was never proven even after she was
quarantined for observation day and night.  Even under these
strict conditions, no signs of fraudulent behavior were ever
detected.

She was partially blind and deaf, left paralyzed after

an illness, and was said to exist on only the holy wafers she
consumed each day. She had her Chiron  at 28 Scorpio which
means, the symbol of the Inner wound (the Chironic wound),
was opposed to the fixed star Algol. Certainly we might begin
to see that this star can bring about what Rosenberg called,
harshness of human existence to be experienced sometimes in
miraculous ways if Therese Neumann and Padre Pio are to be
believed.

Reverend Jim Jones
Pastor Jim Jones was the infamous leader of Guyana’s
suicide cult. He led nearly a thousand souls to their death
as well as taking his own life with poisoned Kool Aid,
including hundreds of seniors, helpless children and infants.
Moving from San Francisco to the jungles of Guyana, the
pastor convinced his followers that their lives would be so
enhanced they’d never have to worry again about health care,
money or housing. He’d take care of them and of all their
needs.

After some of his people murdered a US Congressman at

the airport after his inspection of the compound, he
convinced his followers to commit suicide. Similar to the 960
souls on Masada over the Dead Sea 2000 years ago, who
willingly jumped to their deaths to avoid enslavement by the
Roman rulers, so too Jim Jones convinced his people to drink
the poisoned Kool Aid to avoid the government of the United
States who he said would enslave them. In the People’s
Temple, Jim Jones urged the parents to give the Kool Aid to
their children and babies first, and most did dutifully
before taking the lethal concoction themselves.

Why did Jim Jones give in to the more negative

vibrations to which he was born? Thanks to Lois Rodden’s
efforts we know that Jim Jones was born in Lynn Indiana May
13, 1931 10:00 PM.   She gave this information an accuracy
rating of AA.

With his Sun widely conjunct Algol at 22 degrees Taurus

41 minutes a degree of self-undoing and its ruler
Venus square to Jupiter in Cancer, exalted in this sign, he
was in his early years an idealistic minister. He had a
charismatic personality which led to the recruitment of
thousands to his San Francisco ministry. He could recite the
scriptures word for word but like many others he failed to
incorporate the spirit behind those words into his actions.
His enormous ego was eventually his downfall and the downfall
of his many followers. He came to believe and he preached to
his followers that he was equal to god.

His natal Venus  in Aries  being in detriment in this

sign also squared his Saturn  in Capricorn, was strong in
this sign which it rules. We might wonder if his Sun
overwhelmed his common sense, his ego overtook him and the
negativity of Algol to which Diana Rosenberg spoke, became
full force in the lives of so many as well as himself. Diana
also spoke of being a victim as well as victimizing others,
all potentials of this star’s known proclivities as we shall
see in this study.

According to the data, 918 people died in the People’s

Temple Agricultural Center from consuming cyanide laced Kool
Aid. Most took the concoction voluntarily, while children,
babies and even some adults who refused were forced.

With an awareness of the energies of Algol, and

understanding how and what the vibrations incline one
towards, we may indeed be able to redirect that energy and
save ourselves and others from much grief.  We can overcome
Algol’s inclinations most of the time. That’s the beauty of
knowledge, and the old saying is appropriate here, “ To be
forewarned is to be forearmed”.

Jim Jones natal Uranus in the 3rd house conjunct his

Venus in fall in the sign of Aries also plays a vital role.
I have to wonder if we take out one piece of a puzzle, do we
get the same picture. By this I mean to say it isn’t just
one thing. It’s a combination of many astrological factors
and this is something which I cannot stress too strongly.
As his Uranus in the 3rd house of communications was
square Saturn, Jupiter  and Pluto  in the 7th house of
others, it indicates an inclination to misuse control and
authority over others.

CHAPTER 11: Missing Persons
The Mysterious Case of Madeline McCann

Madeleine McCann Missing Child

I was traveling with my husband, enjoying for the first
time, the Mediterranean coast of Spain at the Costa del Sol
in May of 2007, we heard of a nearby kidnapping of a little
girl. She was vacationing with her parents and twin brother
and sister not too far from where we were staying just over
the border in Portugal. They stayed at an upscale resort
where their friends gathered with them in the evening at a
Tapas bar while all their children were left in the rooms
they rented,  asleep.
What horror and dread Kate McCann must have felt when
she went to check on the children and found Madeline was
missing.  Jerry McCann checked on the children at about 9 PM
and thought the door was slightly more ajar than he recalled
having left it, but gave it no more thought. It was surmised
later that the kidnapper may have been hiding in the
apartment at that time. When a dining companion walked over
to check on her daughter at 9:15 PM, she reported seeing a
young Mediterranean looking man, carrying a sleeping child
who looked to her to be a female from the style of the
pajamas.  Approximately 50 minutes later, another guest from
Ireland noticed a young man carrying a little girl who
appeared to be around 4 years of age with light colored
pajamas, lighter skin and blonde hair. He didn’t look
comfortable carrying her, the man told the police.

Madeline was said to be born at 1:12 PM in Leicester

England on May 12, 2003 and was abducted from her bed at the
condominium they were staying on May 3, 2007, a Thursday, the
day of Jupiter at approximately 9:30 PM. The Moon was at 28
degrees Scorpio 40 minutes which also opposed Algol.

She was born with a very distinctive birthmark in the

right eye pupil.  With the Royal Star, Fomalhaut which
promises an Immortal name conjunct her DC cusp and opposite
her ascendant, we know this was a very special young soul.
Madeline had a birthmark in her eye and it could not be
missed by any official looking carefully for her.

We can see in her natal chart, a Mystic Rectangle

formation as well a Kite with Algol at the MC angle when she
was born. Her Sun in the 9th house and her Moon having just
moved into the 0 position of Libra, a critical degree . Moon
is conjunct Vesta, the symbol of the virgin.  Whether or not
her parents and siblings will ever be reunited with Madeline
in this lifetime is hard to say, but it does appear to me she
is still alive. Having royal fixed star Fomalhaut 3 Pisces on
the cusp of the DC however suggests not only an “Immortal
Name” which she has become, but often we see that unresolved
cases which keeps them immortalized forever.

Having Algol present in the natal chart does not for a
second mean it is a stigma on the person or the soul of
course, it is simply as all fixed stars of notoriety are, a
vibration. Some might suggest it is indicative of a karma
that a soul takes on, either to evolve faster than some
others, or because of past misdeeds. There are just as many
wonderful people as there are bad people who have the stigma
of Algol to contend with in life.

That is why my preference of explaining Algol  has

always been in sync with Rosenberg’s wisdom. To understand
that as a vibration it must find a way to work to the benefit
of the soul, and not against it. That means free will to
overcome just as we would take on any hardship that comes to
us. What does not kill us makes us stronger, is another way
of looking at Algol. And all my years of observing this star
in the charts of people makes me believe this is an accurate
viewpoint. Many will survive well, and get over the hardships
they will undoubtedly be required to face, whatever that may
be, and perhaps not blink an eye any more than any other
distasteful life event.

Some however, will not be so fortunate, but of course

there are always the mitigating circumstances of the chart
itself all of which need to considered. For no one will
suffer a hardship because of one star or one planet, any more
than one would create a wonderful life out of one star or
planet, Algol included.
Many of the finest and most successful people in the
world have Algol  in their natal charts and again, would
never blink an eye over it. So please don’t fret about this
star. Just realize that it is one of many that was studied by
the ancients and as such, has had a negative reputation.

The more we know about how the vibrations operate in a

chart, the more acquainted we are with the universe of which
we are a part. Astrology is simply a specialized tool that
enables us to do exactly that. By knowing ourselves more
fully, we then can gain the wisdom behind the knowledge it
would take to run the better race in life.

Eufaula Oklahoma Family Disappearance
(For the family’s privacy, names have been omitted)

A family of 3, the youngest of which was a 6 year old

girl, disappeared in the mountains in 2009. According to law
enforcement these mountains are full of methamphetamine labs,
in caves and hard to reach places. The area seems to draw
societal dropouts, or people who simply want to move away
from the city life and live a more rustic style of existence.
The family was looking to do just that, having tired of their
city life and wanted to start over again, save their marriage
and leave the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s possible
that they may have stumbled upon some illegal activity and
those people considered them a threat, which resulted in
their deaths.

The wife wrote a letter to her husband, deriding him and

calling him a “hermit”. They sought to revive their
marriage when they went looking for some type of solitude
from which they never returned.

Upon reviewing their natal charts, 2 of which I have

confirmed the times of birth, we find the mother and the
child have prominent Algol placements in their natal charts.

Their natal charts indicate to me that something far

larger and sinister was at hand, about which we know nothing.

Certainly the child was innocent in every way as are all

young children. Algol in the natal gives us the impression
that the vibration is carried over from the past, perhaps a
connection with the parents. There is a system created that
is unique in this regard by the astrologer Tad Mann who
delved into the natal charts and discovered that the parents
and the child may be seen even prior to the actual birth
during the conception period. After many years of observation
and study in such concepts, I have come to a similar belief.
This is not much different then a mother who carried the
fetus to birth is giving to her child that which is taken in
physically, so too mentally and emotionally:

I feel in this case that all are dead and that it was by
the hand of another, certainly not as some has speculated
through a murder suicide. I arrived at my conclusion based on
examination of the transits and progressions of all 3 of the
missing person around the time of their disappearance.
Two thousand years ago, a very wise prophet said,
“Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.” The
wife had a 22 caliber pistol always in her possession which
was not located in their abandoned vehicle.

However, a sizeable amount of money in a bank bag was

left in the car, along with their dog and her purse,
indicating their intention to return soon. They never made it
back to the truck.

For more than a few years both the wife and husband were
having issues with all manner of mental irregularities. The
husband was said to have asked a local gun shop owner, if he
knew of a bullet that would kill ghosts. This may have been
part of their religious beliefs regarding so called evil
spirits that they may have felt possessed them or their home.
It’s impossible to say for certain.
According to some relatives, they did use drugs, but
whether or not it was getting out of control in their lives
we don’t know. The wife was rumored to have been dabbling in
witchcraft and by and large the family was in a state of
disarray. There were signs of witchcraft mottos near the home
perhaps to frighten others away.  The question is then, did
they let their thoughts gather strength and cause them to act
in such a way as to eventually destroy them?

Examining the natal charts we find that the child had

her North Node in the 9th house of her conception in partile
conjunct to fixed star Algol.  Exactly at the 26th degree of
Taurus, so the strength of this fixed star was there.  The
planet Pluto was within 25 minutes of exact to the IC cusp of
the 4th house of beginning and ending of life.
The fact that her Pluto squares her Mars and Mars is
also the ruler of her 8th house of death does not bode well
for longevity, especially when we add in Algol and the
squares as well as the environment of the 9th house of
conception in this particular case.

As for the mother, both her Neptune location across from

Algol at 25 Scorpio and her Juno (married partner or even
someone who stalked her) was 28 Scorpio conjunct Neptune
opposing Algol.

It probably was not advantageous either that her

Ascendant was 29 degrees 54 minutes, anorectic in Capricorn
with the ruler of the chart Saturn in the 3rd house within
minutes of Lachesis (death asteroid) and the ruler of the 8th
is Mercury (natural ruler of the 3rd) found in the 9th and
opposed to Mercury.

To sum up; the ruler of the 8th house of death is

Mercury.   Mercury is found in the 9th house and opposite
Saturn the Lord of the Chart in the 3rd. How she died we
don’t know.   But I think the astrological evidence points
to an early death.

CHAPTER 12: Innovators and Inventors
Nikola Tesla

Tesla was an Electrical engineer, inventor and

physicist. He was born on July 10th, 1856 at the stroke of 12
PM Midnight in Serbia and later he relocated to the United
States.  It would not be an exaggeration to say that Nikola
Tesla was the most unusual and eccentric inventor in recent
history, and that his invention changed the world forever.
[“Astrology of Inventors: The Men” by D.M.Hoover Amazon
Kindle]
His natal chart exemplifies the nature of an eccentric
Uranus as well as the heights to which Uranus may soar even
when connected with Algol.

He was born with Uranus in the 1st house which

represents self-identity and in the 23rd degree 56 minutes of
Scorpio which was opposed fixed star Algol.

How did the energy manifest for him, this is the

question.  To find out we must first assess his natal Uranus
and the aspects to the other planets.

In Tesla’s case, his Uranus is also bi-quintile to his

Mars in Libra. Mars in Libra falls in the tropical sign of
its detriment. However the bi-quintile aspect is suggesting a
greater amount of creativity then would be the norm.

He was also more than a bit of a showman. There is a

widely distributed photograph of him sitting in his
laboratory surrounded by huge lightning bolts of electricity
as he sat calmly reading a book. The purpose of the
photograph was to demonstrate the safety of AC current and
generate acceptance for it as the standard, rather than the
DC current promoted by Thomas Edison.

Tesla wanted electrical current to be free for all of

humanity, and of course the corporate world wanted the
opposite, large profits.
For many years his fame allowed him to live a celebrity
lifestyle, but he died alone and penniless. Towards the end
of his life, he was seen as a threat to the profits of the
big corporations and the men who ran them, (1st house Algol
position) opposite his 7th house of others and known enemies.

It’s quite amazing and perhaps more than a little

shocking, to know the man died the way he did, without funds
without friends, without backers and essentially alone in the
world.

However when we realize that Algol in a natal chart

requires us to confront certain things that others may not be
required to confront, we begin to comprehend the types of
injustices that can occur even in a life such as his.

Uranus in his 1st house shows quite a bit of

eccentricity in his public and private life.  The prophet
Edgar Cayce once called Uranus the planet of extremes. He
himself had Uranus on the ascendant at birth.

According to some sources, there are a minimum of 300

patents belonging to the estate of Tesla, (included in the
700 estimate) which are unaccounted for today in foreign
countries. Suffice it to say, the man was a genius, and well
ahead of his time.

It’s likely that many younger people today have never

heard of Nikola Tesla, as most of the credit for electrical
development is given to Thomas Edison who had a much better
head for business, profits and public relations. But if not
for Tesla’s inventions, a large number of the modern
conveniences we have come to take for granted today would not
exist at all. Many of the things we think of as being new
technology, such as lasers and robotics, were pioneered by
Tesla almost a century ago.
He had 2 laboratories, one in upstate New York not far
from Niagara Falls and one in Colorado Springs. The
laboratory in New York has a museum for Mr. Tesla and his
inventions. There is a statue and memorial dedicated to him
near the New York Niagara Falls park area which draws many
visitors each year.

Carl Gustav Jung
Jung was born July 26, 1875 at 7: 29PM in Kesswil
Switzerland when Pluto was conjunct Algol in his 3rd house of
the lower mind and ruling communications. Since his natal
Pluto is found in the 3rd house which rules the lower mind
and Pluto itself is a symbol of the collective conscious, it
seems appropriate then, that in Algol, Jung brought to the
masses what he termed the collective. He transformed not only
himself but the entire western world with his teachings.

He had been a protégé and student of Sigmund Freud with

whom he eventually parted ways. Freud also had his natal
Mercury and Uranus conjunct Algol in his 7th house with his
Taurus Sun. Both men had quite fixed mentalities and fixed
signs ruling their egos, one in Leo and one in Taurus for the
tropical sun and both in their 7th houses.

The fathers of modern psychology were given the

creativity of mind and the genius to create a new
understanding of human life and the frailty that goes along
with life to help mankind understand what motivates as well
as what may propel our dream lives. I always found it
fascinating that in history, other famous artists came in at
the same time period to become peers such as the French Monet
and Cezanne, in Italy Michelangelo and Da Vinci. In Poland,
there was Franz Liszt and Frederic Chopin who were friends as
composers and pianists.

More often than not competition in the same field brings

about consternation between alliances and so it was with
Freud and Jung. There is always some competition to succeed
and to be the best in one’s field of endeavor which can lead
to a falling out amongst friends. There is no question about
it; these two men were innovators in their field and both had
very fixed mentalities. Perhaps they were in a larger sense,
the shadow of one another.

Carl Jung’s Pluto resides in the 3rd house of the mind,

opposed to Algol in the 9th.  He certainly changed the world
for the better at least in the collective sense of
psychological understandings.

Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud was born on May 6, 1956 in Pribor
Czechoslovakia at 6:30 PM; Sigmund Freud had Scorpio Rising
opposed to his Sun in the 7th house. Having both his planets
Venus and Mars in the signs of their detriment, one in Aries
the other in Libra, it’s not at all surprising that he is
the proponent of the Oedipus complex, and that his main focus
was on the sexual components of the human species.  Mars
represents the male archetype in the natal chart and Venus
the female.

Freud’s theory proposed that the libido is equal in

infancy and that the boys have a natural aggression towards
the father and a desire for the mother. Jung counter proposed
what he termed the Electra complex, which suggests that girls
experience aggression towards their mothers and a desire for
their father. The 5th century Greek mythological figure
Electra plotted with her brother to kill the mother.
Sigmund Freud Natal Chart
As a medical researcher, Freud was an early user and
proponent of cocaine as a stimulant as well as an analgesic.
He believed that cocaine was a cure for many mental and
physical problems, and in his 1884 paper "On Coca" he
extolled its virtues. His 6th house rules health as well as
service industries and with Mars ruling the house, explains
his concern with health issues that affect the masses.  His
natal Mars in Libra is also in the sign of its detriment and
found in the 11th house with the Black Moon Lilith, the house
which rules the masses.

It seems to me that Jung’s parting with Freud had much

to do with his larger world view developed through his
extensive travels. For many years he studied various cultures
in Africa and elsewhere, their dances, their methods of
communicating, dreams, and myths.  All of this added to his
rich evolving awareness that eventually became his life’s
thesis.

Sigmund Freud believed the subconscious mind’s key

elements were the repressed wishes and fears. Freud stressed
that the unconscious mind was personal to the individual’s
ego. Carl Jung came to believe in what he termed a Collective
Unconscious and the ego’s dipping into the deep collective
well in the dream state which contained far more than the
individual’s ego.

Freud believed that the repressions of the mind are

symbolic of most illnesses, the things that society insists
we repress creates anxiety, whereas Jung taught that
Archetypes are from the deepest levels of the psyche, that
all are interconnected with each other, and that archetypes
also have a compensatory function to help keep us in
balance.   This is found mostly in the dream state.

In 1912 Jung publishedWandlungen und Symbole der Libido

(published in English in 1916 as The Psychology of the
Unconscious and it became clear that his views were taking a
direction quite different from those of Freud. To distinguish
his system from psychoanalysis, Jung called his system
analytical psychology.  [Henry Ellenberger “The Discovery
of the Unconscious the History and Evolution of Dynamic
Psychiatry “pg. 456]
The ideas of these forward thinking men form the basis
of two independent schools of thought concerning psychiatry.
The psychoanalytic theory  formed from the teachings of
Freud,  and from  Jung the analytical psychology branch
which puts a great deal of emphasis on a more holistic
approach to my way of thinking then Freud’s more singular
one of an underlying sexual foundation for all of life’s
ills.

The firm beliefs he developed can be seen in Freud’s

natal chart this remarkable fixity of Scorpio Rising, along
with his Venus and Mars while Carl Jung’s natal chart gives
a more even humane approach of Aquarius rising, perhaps also
his Mars and Venus although he was reported to have been a
philanderer himself in marriage, no doubt seen by his Uranus
in the 7th with the Sun in Leo, and Gemini ruling his 5th
house of love affairs.

His natal Mars was not in a sign of detriment or fall,

although in Sagittarius and the critical degree of self-
undoing, he had a roving eye for the ladies. Venus was in
Cancer and square Jupiter the ruler of his Mars sign. Also,
having his Mars in Sagittarius, means he let no grass grow
under his feet, traveling to outer parts of the world, remote
villages and studied various cultures and their philosophies.

However with Sigmund Freud it seems to be more about his

inner values concerning male and female body parts and their
interchange that is depicted more so with the debilitated
places that Mars and Venus are found.

Freud had both his Mercury and Uranus with Algol in the
7th house along with his Sun’s placement and certainly
changed the entire world with his teachings and philosophy
from the house which rules the others in our lives.

The Poets
Kahlil Gibran Poet from Lebanon

Kahlil Gibran born January 6, 1883 in Bsharri Lebanon

rectified time of 4 AM had Algol prominent in his natal chart
with his Chironic wound and Pluto.  Why this would remain
all of his life isn’t something I know about, but it truly
did. He was sensitive beyond all, so much so that his poetry
is still very much loved today by both old and young. Many
people resonate to his mystical writings and his depth in
conveying this mysticism.

However he did drink alcohol all his life as he suffered

from severe depression that came on him and simply never left
until he numbed it with alcohol. As we all know this is never
a cure for depression and more than likely makes it worse
after the numb feelings wears off. But in his day and age
there probably was no real outlet for him as today’s culture
allows for, rehabilitation commonly termed rehab centers and
Alcoholic Anonymous centers everywhere.

Regardless, the man was a genius with his writing. When

his beautiful book “The Prophet” full of inspirational
writings and lovely ink drawings hit the market in the United
States in the 1960s, it was well received. This book was
actually written in 1923 and gained popularity in the 1930’s
and then again in the 1960s during the counter culture era.

His family was torn apart due to poverty and his father
was arrested at some point for embezzlement. His mother then
uprooted the family and came to the United States to raise
her 4 children the best she could by herself. But this time
for the young Kahlil proved daunting and tragic for he lost
his older half-brother from his mother’s earlier marriage.
Peter died from TB as did his sister Sultana while he was
away at school. More than likely, Chiron is showing us these
daunting personal losses and his agony over them.

Losing two siblings and then his mother in rather short

succession from cancer left only him and his sister Marianna.
She helped to raise her brother and had a dressmaking job
at a local shop in Boston.
Gibran Self-portrait 1911

Gibran was a very accomplished artist in pen and water

color drawings and attended art school in Paris for two years
from 1908-1910.  There always seemed to be teachers who
looked out for the boy and helped him along.  He fell in
love with a long-time friend Mary Elizabeth Haskell and it
was reported that he proposed marriage to her twice, but due
to her family’s very conservative nature, the marriage never
took place. More than likely it was not over religion for
they were both Catholic, Kahlil a Maronite Catholic from
Lebanon part of a minority religion there, and Mary Elizabeth
a Christian as well, however she was 10 years his senior and
this alone may have been enough for the family to nix the
idea.

Both Kahlil and Mary Elizabeth Haskell continued their

close friendship all of his life. She became his most trusted
adviser and book editor for his, drawings and poetry. There
was no one closer to him than she.
Gibran died in New York City, April 10th, 1931 at the
relatively young age of 48 of cirrhosis of the liver and
tuberculosis. Although he came through Ellis Island with his
mother and siblings he never chose to become a citizen of the
United States, saying he loved his country Lebanon so much.
He wanted to be buried there and that is where his tomb is
located. In 1932 Mary Haskell and Khalil’s beloved sister
Mariana purchased a Monastery in Lebanon, and on that plot of
land created a museum that today is called the Kahlil Gibran
Museum housing his poetry and works of art.

Although Mary Haskell married someone else in 1923,

Gibran left all of his personal writings and work to her in
his will. Royalties from his books in America were left to
his birth country, Lebanon, for “good works” and willed to
his home town of Bsharri.

In this huge cache of works left to Mary, she found a

cadre full of intimate personal letters written to her and
some she had written to him. She had planned on burning them,
but decided instead to will them as she did to the University
of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Library after she died in
1964.

There is no question that Kahlil Gibran loved only Mary

Haskell his entire life and perhaps it was unrequited love as
well. However the depth of his love surpassed any personal
love when he wrote. It was always universal love he wrote
about. His mysticism was a convergence of several of the main
religions of the world, from Sufism which is the mystical
lyrical religion of ancient Persia and Turkey as well as
Afghanistan, founded by Rumi another poet, to incorporating
Islam, Hindu and even Theosophy. His Christianity he felt
very deeply never left him and that is why his best selling
“The Prophet” was  about Jesus and it has never been out
of print since it was penned.  This as well as many of his
books is available in over 40 languages worldwide, for he
touched so many that it superseded any religious barriers.

Gibran had a Capricorn Sun in the 15th degree with a

Sagittarius Moon that knew no boundaries when it came to
emotions. Jupiter rules the sign of his Moon thus, enlarging
all it touches.   He had an overabundance of trines or the
harmonious aspect in his natal chart to most planets.  The
only square aspect made was the ruler of his Moon, Jupiter to
Uranus. The emotions and sensitivity must have been draining
at times for him.

He also had oppositions to his Nodes, one to Saturn and

one to Neptune. Because the North Node was   conjunct Zuben
Elschemali, the Northern Scale at 19 Scorpio, we know that
life wasn’t easy for him; it never is with this star.
Usually forcing one to see or view an area of life in black
and white, stark colder ways of perspective. This would have
contrasted greatly with his mystical side which was shades of
gray, never black and white.  Indeed for him, the emotional
nature must be been worn very thin at times causing him to
drink too much.

This Node puts the South Node right in the Eye of Cetus
the Sea monster. Earlier there was a graph of Cetus in this
book and all who are caught up in the stare of Cetus usually
somehow in their lives are also caught up in the eye of the
collective consciousness.

His South Node then, was unfortunately partile conjunct

within minutes to the malefic Saturn. This means that he more
than likely was carrying a scar into this lifetime from
another, for Saturn is about other lives and karma as is the
South Node. Two mainline malefics together, both widely
conjunct Chiron which is the inner wound which is connected
to Algol and Pluto.

Sylvia Plath, Poet

Sylvia Plath - Poet

Sylvia Plath was a prolific poet and writer who wrote
the “Bell Jar”. She was born October 27, 1932 precisely
2:10 PM in Boston Massachusetts. Her Moon was in Libra at 8
°30 minutes conjunct the inharmonious star Vindemiatrix and
Juno the asteroid often used for the marriage partner was
also in Libra at exactly the same degree. These two bodies
were merged the day and hour Sylvia came into the world.
Both Juno and the Moon fell into her 7th house of
relationships.  She was it seems, a hopeless romantic.
One of the essential keyword phrases for the fixed star
Vindemiatrix at 9 Libra is “loss of a spouse” and just as
often, it’s the person who has this star who is the lost
soul. From Vivien Robson, who penned these words, “when
transiting with the Moon, take medicine but do not travel or
marry.” Perhaps when Ted Hughes her famous poet husband had
spoken of the stars and planets having formed their marriage
through destiny he should have asked the astrologer more
about this star in regards to Sylvia and himself.

It was only a few years after they met and married that
they moved to England, his native country.   All of these
terminologies mentioned for Vindemiatrix, came to pass to
bring about her premature end at the young age of 30.
Sylvia’s popular husband Ted Hughes had someone else with
whom he became smitten, this and perhaps her failure to take
her medication for depression contributed to the decision to
end her life by inserting her head in the gas oven. Her last
written words were concerning the safety of her children
sleeping in their beds, and before he final act, she made
sure to leave out the proper breakfast foods for her two
little children, Nicholas age 13 months still in his crib,
and her little girl Frieda age 3.

Ted Hughes, Sylvia’s husband was born August 17th, 1930

in Mytholmroyd England at 1:12A.M. He was already a famous
poet when Sylvia met and married him. Together they traveled
giving readings of their poetry.

He had Cancer Rising in the critical 1st degree, and

believe it or not, a 5th house Part of Fortune conjunct both
Venus and Vindemiatrix, not unlike Sylvia’s 7th house set
up, but for him it was in the 5th house of love affairs. The
planet Venus and the Part of Fortune were separated by only
12 minutes. Again, one wonders why his astrologer, who he was
convinced knew about the fated destiny of his relationship
and Sylvia, did not warn him about this star. Perhaps he
would have ignored the warning, after all destiny is just
that. Surely their lives were fraught were tragedy but also
drama and love, worthy of any soap opera as sometimes life is
stranger than fiction.

The tenancy of Venus with the Part of Fortune in the 5th

house of love affairs, in all practical terms for Ted Hughes
meant a legal wife and many lovers. Two very important women
bore his children, and both were lost to suicide. Venus
conjunct Vindemiatrix warns of spousal loss, often by death.
This fixed star sometimes called the widow or widower maker,
points to the loss of a spouse; in his case he lost two close
partners. Although Assia his lover did move in with him for a
while, she eventually returned to her husband and divided her
time between both of them. She gave birth to a little girl
and moved in with Ted Hughes who realized the child was his.
They never formally married.  Aissa did fall into a severe
morose depressive period herself and when her little girl was
only 4 years of age. She dissolved sleeping pills into a
drink for herself and her daughter then put a mattress close
to the gas stove turned on the gas and laid down with her
daughter in her arms. She was 41 and daughter Shura had just
turned 4 when they both died. Was she unknowingly trying to
mimic the dramatic death of Sylvia?

Vindemiatrix had become a testimony very literal in Ted

Hughes 5th house of love affairs and loss of spouses.  When
Aissa took her own life and that of their daughter Shura,
Transiting Moon had gone over Ted Hughes natal Chiron in the
11th and was conjunct Algol and opposed to the transit of
Neptune over his 5th house both at the 28th degree of Taurus
and Scorpio respectively.

In Sylvia’s natal chart, it was Chiron symbolizing the

inner wound that never healed for her conjunct Algol at 27
degrees Taurus. And I don’t think it helped her to have
Chiron opposite her natal Mercury which was in the definite
loss degree of Scorpio or 21°.  It’s uncanny to think that
Sylvia wrote in her poem the Bell Jar, about the windowless
corridor of pain, or what was to become, her own bell jar.
She penned the words, “From the bottom of a pool, fixed
stars govern a life”.
Whether she realized she had Algol opposite Chiron
we’ll never know, but it certainly appears to be the case,
as well as Regulus on the cusp of the 7th house.

I will mention too that perhaps significant is Regulus

the subject of another book on the fixed stars in this
series, is exactly conjunct her 7th house cusp at 29th degree
of Leo, and of course brought to her a famous well known
husband. [“Regulus and the Generals” D.M.Hoover Amazon

Ted Hughes believed fervently in astrology and Sylvia
use to laugh about his charts falling out of his pockets when
they dated. He had charts done for everything in his life,
perhaps thinking he couldn’t make a move without them. We do
know he thought Sylvia and he were fated to be together, but
then again he had so many liaisons, so many love affairs and
all of them seemed to be of the same caliber, someone in love
with the idea of love. All this while those he took up with
were dropping like flies all around him.

He was a famous poet in his own right, and so perhaps he

was right after all, for both of them were stars in their own
drama. Perhaps shadows of each other.

Professor Nicholas Hughes, the only son of this famous

couple, succumbed to a tragic end when he committed suicide a
few years ago after being a very successful engineer and
teacher all his life. He killed himself on the 46th
anniversary of his mother’s death. He was 47 years of age.

Sylvia’s Chironic wound was located in Algol at 27:15

Taurus. Chiron also conjunct her Black Moon Lilith and was
located in the 3rd of the lower mind and opposed her Mercury
in the critical 21st degree of Scorpio.

Her son Nicholas Hughes who had been the infant in the
crib when she died, hanged himself when transiting
Ceres, which speaks of the nurture we give and receive from
others, went over his natal 8th house conjunct Algol at 26
Taurus and opposed his progressed ascendant in Scorpio. Poor
Nicolas, he apparently never got over his mother’s death.

Conclusion:

My studies have indicated that the malefic fixed stars

have a definite influence, but as with anything in astrology,
that influence is more than likely mitigated by other factors
in the chart.  Therefore they are not by any means an
absolute, but by the same token, not something to be
completely ignored either.

The overall influence in the natal chart will vary from

individual to individual, no different than any other
important planet or point. Sometimes their influence will be
very intense while at other times it may be more subtle.
It’s the astrologer’s job to learn to discern the
differences.

It seems to me that it’s unwise not to utilize, or to

at least explore, all of the tools available to the
astrologer, and many would agree that utilizing the Fixed
Stars properly is chief among them.

I encourage any serious astrologer to explore the Fixed

Stars. Used wisely and judiciously they can contribute
towards a more rewarding understanding and a broader picture
of the vibrations of which all of mankind is a part.
