Hello, My name is Caitlin Podratz, and I am a recent graduate of South Dakota State University. SU, I majored in Early Childhood Education, gaining a certificate in Early During my time at SI Childhood Education as well as a certificate in Elementary Education from Dakota State University. Since my childhood, every time someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always answered that I wanted to be a teacher. This dream has continued as | have gotten older and had more experience working with children. In high school, I had the opportunity to be a teacher assistant in a few different classes. I was able to work with the kindergarten class going with them to their specials. I enjoyed getting to know the children on a personal level and being a Positive role model for each of the children in the class. During my time in college, I had the opportunity to work in many different classroom settings in the Brookings area. One of my favorite experiences was working in the Fishback Center for Early Childhood Education as a student teacher in the toddler classroom. Throughout the semester, I was assigned to a few students that I got to know very well. Along with these students, I got to know the rest of the children on a personal level. I loved being able to plan engaging activities for these children and see them grow over the course of the semester. Please take a look through my portfolio.
