Background of The Activity

Art is the thing that can not be separated from our lives, since it not just
provide us the aesthetic purpose and gives us the meaning that really useful for our
life, but also prove our existence as a human being. One of the kind of art that we
need to keep is literature. Literature is a piece of work that just not made for the
aesthetic purpose, but also give some meaning to our life. Literature is made from the
imagination that include idea, thought and opinion of the writer as a reflection of the
reality. One of the popular types of literature is drama.
Drama is type of literary work that based on human life. Drama gives us
insight of the the reality from its intrinsic element—such as character, setting, plot
and theme. A playwright—the one who wrote the script of the drama—usually make
the drama for entertain purpose. Drama that perform on the stage and has audience
usually called play. Performing plays requires a lot of resources. It needs some solid
actors, creativity, property and so on.
Related to the case, our class, NK-1/18, will perform a play tittled “The
Proposal”. This plays will be staged as the final project of the “Drama on Stage”
course. This play was chosen because it not also gives us the understanding of what is
fake and what is the real thing in the world, but also gives us some insight of what
would it be to be a materialistic-centered people in this society. This play will provide
some interesting problem that we think really important to be staged.

- To perform the play tittled “The proposal”
- As a form of apreciation of the literary work
- As a final-project of “Drama on Stage” course

C. The benefit of the activity

- Creativity development
- Responsibility and togetherness development among students
- Preservation of art, especially plays

D. Theme of the activity

This plays can be used as educational and entertaining purposes. This activity will
give a really positive impact, not also for the students, but also for the audience. In
this drama performent, we want to shout a call to everyone that “there is nothing
impossible if we do everything together”

J. Closing
That is our play perform’s proposal that will be performed by class NK-1
2018. We hope this perfoments goes well and gives benefit not also for us, as
performers, but also for the audience and our society. We also hope with this
performers, the people will also preserve art as important prove of our existance and
our culture.
