Read the passage and answer the questions which are given below: -

1) Mona and Raman were going to the airport with their father to receive their
cousin Mohit, who was arriving from Mumbai. They did not have enough time to
reach the airport. There was a lot of traffic on the road.
2) There were a very few people on the road as it was very hot. They finally
managed to reach the airport just in time. The flight was a bit delayed so they got
some time to have juice and sandwiches. All around them they could see many
people, some were there to catch a flight and some were waiting to receive their
friends or relatives.
3) There were also some people who were helping to carry the heavy pieces of
luggage. Both Mona and Raman also saw many planes as they waited for their
cousin’s flight to arrive. The sight of planes taking off and landing was amazing.
“How exciting it would be to fly in a plane! “exclaimed Mona and Raman.” I will
take you to Goa by air during your summer holidays” said their father.
4) The two children smiled in delight. They could not wait for the trip and wished
their summer holidays would come soon.

Read the given passage and answer the following questions.


On a cold winter night, a beautiful baby girl was born. His parents were delighted and
she was the apple of their eye. Muskaan grew up to be a lovely girl.
Seven years later, Muskaan’s life lay in ruins. Both her parents died in a terrible train
accident. Miraculously, the little girl survived, but no one came forward to claim her. She
became a destitute, forced to beg for a living on the streets. Hunger, loneliness and fear
became the reality of her young life.
Everything changed once again for Muskaan when she was twelve. A family of three,
walking along the street, stopped by her side. The mother extended her arms and
embraced Muskaan. ‘You are not alone anymore,’ she said. The father and the little girl
smiled at her lovingly.
Tears of gratitude flowed ceaselessly down Muskaan’s cheeks. Thousands of people had
walked past her every day and everyone had ignored her. Here was the family that was
not only giving her a home but a place in their hearts as well.
Muskaan loved her foster family; her mother Shruti, father Hari and sister Tarini. She
blossomed into a bright teenager, a responsible adult, a loving mother, an adoring aunt
and an indulgent grandmother. When she was seventy-five, her family gathered together
to celebrate the milestone. At the end of the celebration, she turned to Tarini and said,’ I
want to thank you and our parents for showing me light when there was only darkness
in my world.’
