S: Welcome to Colombia’s Nacional Museum.

Today, we are going over our most

popular artworks.
J: That sounds great! I’m looking forward to this exhibition
S: Here we have the most emblematic’s work of Beatriz Gonzalez, it’s called “Los
suicidas del Sisga III”
J: When was this picture painted?
S: It was painted in 1965
J: Do you know what drove her to Paint it?
S: Yes, she was inspired by Antonio and Tulia’s tragic love story . two love birds
who commited suicide throwing themselves from Sisga’s dam
J: Interesting! I’ve never seen such a huge art museum
S: On the right side, we find the sculpture called "El Sermón del Monte" This work
is formally one of the first sculptures that captured the modern spirit, detached from
the academic tradition and full of interest in blurring the figure and relying only on
synthesis of the represented subject.
J: Do you know the name of the sculptor?
S: "El Sermón del Monte" was prepared by Gustavo Arcila Duarte
J: I want to take a picture with her!
S: No Jorge! We can’t take a picture in this museum
J: Hmmm... I didn’t know that
J: Look, "Cohete 3" is the famous art piece
S: What Jorge? Did you know about this painting?
J: No. I just saw its title at the bottom here. Haha.
