My question reflection

A warm shower on a mundane wednesday and chilly afternoon sounds like a wonderful

idea. Many others in your neighborhood might be thinking the same thing. Some people may

have arrived home, after fearing being exposed to COVID-19, and that warm shower is a way to

rid themselves of whatever they were just exposed to. That shower can mean several things to

people. But the water that comes out of your shower head, is the most important thing of all.

Water, in many ways, helps living things live. I, for one, just survived on water. I never

thought of how water helped to keep others alive, I just lived off of it. As a freshman, that

changed. I learned about how water was more than just a liquid on our planet - rather - a

sustainable place, something that influences the lives of many, and has sustained the state I even

live in. There are thousands of creatures within our state, ones who are struggling due to the

current issues we already have today. Issues such as global warming, and invasive species. This

realization has brought me to today, to this topic.

In the state of Rhode Island, water means a lot to people. It could be the usual drinking

water, going out to sail, enjoying the state beaches, or even going out to fish. Especially in a

place in which our waters make up most of our economy and state health. As a Rhode Island
resident, and a student concerned about our water’s health, this is a concern I have, especially

during times such as these.
