During my four years of teaching in the middle school and elementary classrooms, I developed
highly effective lesson plans, motivational exercises and effective assessments that promoted
interest and knowledge retention in the students I worked with. I have demonstrated my
capabilities to work with children from diverse learning needs to ensure they succeed
academically and socially in mainstream classrooms. The highlights from my recent teaching
experiences are:
Created and implemented meaningful lessons in middle school science and numeracy,
as well as elementary literacy, numeracy, social and science with differentiation and
inclusion as a driving force to meet the diverse needs of the students in my classes.
These lessons were seamlessly integrated to an on-line platform to ensure all students
either in the class or on-line were receiving the education they required to move their
learning forward.
Stressed critical thinking, collaboration and applied real-world examples (21 st Century
Competencies) while working with my students. The lessons I created were student-
centered with a hands-on, project-based learning approach.
Received personal parental feedback, thanking me and emphasizing that their child had
nothing but wonderful things to say about the environment I am creating for their
students. I have a natural ability to engage students and make each one feel that they
are the only one in the room--which is no small feat when teaching over 100 students.
I am confident that my passion for education and experience will be valuable assets and look
forward to discussing my position with you soon.
Sincerely,
Lyndsay Harris
