HOMEWORK FOR LESSON 2

Plan a detailed outline and write a full analysis for the following chart.

Detailed outline
1. Introduction: Paraphrase the input and state
2. Overview:
- petroleum was the most produced fuel
- Natural gas increased
- Coal dropped
3. Body paragraphs
- Describe, compare the data and trends of 3 lines
The given line chart compares the production of levels of Petroleum,
Natural Gas, Coal in a particular European country over the period of 20
years, from 1981. Unit is measured in tons.
Overall, while the production of petroleum and natural gas showed an
uptrend and Petroleum remained the highest level of types of fuels in the
whole period, the opposite was true for coal which had a downward trend
throughout the years recorded.
In 1891, Petroleum was largest level of fuel production, at almost 100
million tonnes, the second major fuel was Coal, which produced 80 million
tonnes. Although the production level of Petroleum kept sharp fluctuations
to end up about 120 million tonnes in the ending year, it raised up to about
20 million tonnes. Coal underwent a steady decline over the period. It
gradually fell down year by year and reached the lowest point to nearly 40
tonnes in 2000. This was the lowest production measured over the period.
The smallest production level was Natural gas in 1981. It never
experienced decline from 1981 to 2000. Because It’s production
unchanged during a third of the period, before doubling to 80 million tonnes
in 2000.
