MI 017-458 July 4983, 130 SERIES CONTROLLERS SERVICING, AUTOMATIC CONTROL SECTION (ror control section servicing astails not covered in this instruction, see Instruction HI 017-459.) A prerequisite for servicing the controller Most servicing procedures use the readings is that the measurement and set point 9f the pointers on the front of the bellows assemblies be in calibration instrument to determine signal pressures Page 3 contains a quick calibration check. If greater accuracy is required, test gauges For calibration procedures, refer to the or 2 manometer connected to the appropriate controller operating instructions Lines can be used. Some sorvicing procedures can be performed Page 2 provides general servicing with the controller in the panel. However, information. The procedures below provide a fast and easy method to detect calibration ‘This check can be performed while the controller is in operation but see CAUTION below. A\ caution While this check is being performed, if controller is in operation, opening at Test. Connection must be Rept sealed. If not, set point signal will fali to zero and csuse process upset» 1. Holding finger over opening of test Connection to seal opening, move Connection to TEST position. Refer to Figure 4. [TEST CONNECTION Torr IN TEST Position PostTion MEASUREMENT Figure 4 In TEST position, measurement indicator roads got point proscure (on 130F, local or remote set point, whichever is controlling) 2. Note readings of set point index (local or renote, whichever is controlling) and measuromont pointer If they are in line, both bellows assemblies are probably in calibration. (They both may be in error by the same amount; however this ig unlikely.) Mr 017-458 Page 3 Tf they are not in Line, one or both bellows accemblios require calibration. See controller operating instructions for calibration procedures. (With 130F Controller, to check calibration of other get point bellows, move local-renote switch to other position and similarly note readings of set point index ghd meagurement pointer. If controller is in operation, before making this check, put process on manual control.) With closed-loop piping (Refer to Figure 3 on Page 2), if transfer switch of Manual Control Unit is in AUTO, output pointer on Manual Control Unit should read the sane as measurement pointer (and set point index) | Refer to Figure 5 MEASUREMENT PownTER 7 outrur POINTER Figure 5 If measurement bellows assenbly is in calibration, this ig a convenient way to check calibration of Manual Control Unit. 10 REMOVE CONTROLLER 1. Withdraw controller approximately 355 mn (14 in) from shelf. Refer to Figure 6. RELEASE BUTTON ae Figure § 2, While holding down release button fon top, slide controller out of shelf.
