Teacher's Approaches in Teaching Literature: Observations of ESL Classroom

Effective methods of teaching literature

I think that all five of these extra resources that I found for my classmates could be used later on
because each one of these articles gives information that could be used later on while teaching an
English or ESL class. They could also use this information when just teaching a class that has to deal with
children’s literature or teaching with children’s literature. In the first article it talks about children’s
literature in six different ways as well as why it is so important for children in the classroom and just in
general day to day life. The second article talks about some general thoughts on the challenges of
children’s literature. The third article discusses teaching objectives, skills, that must be taught, and how
they can be organized and successfully implemented by using children’s literature. The fourth article
aims to identify the approaches employed by teachers in teaching Contemporary Children’s Literature
Program to upper primary school in the area that this article is taking in. As well as to the field of
curriculum and pedagogy for authentic learning from the evaluation of teachers’ approaches in the
classroom learning. In the last article it describes the benefits of using effective methods in teaching
lecture.

Hi Colleen,

I looked over all of your links and I do find them very helpful for future needs. I really liked your last link
the most. I liked it because I totally remember doing those games now that I have visited that rink again.
I think it is an amazing way for students to get interested in books that they are about to read. Using this
link teachers will know they are still learning as well as being taught more information. This link is also
very good basing books off of their age, reading level, the genre they want to read.
