Reflection:
The artifact I have chosen that best represented issues and trends in the Healthcare Delivery
system focused around Mobile Health Care Unit that both went to the people in need in remote
areas as a way to reach underserved and rural areas and the aspects of electronic healthcare
that allows health records to be more portable. I think the assignment and the coursework
required in that course brought together aspects of how to make healthcare services more
accessible and efficient for those receiving preventative care such as check ups, or continuing
care such as a home healthcare worker following up on a postpartum mother and baby.
This artifact allowed myself to research what issues and trends existed in the healthcare
delivery system and public health areas that may not have been apparent from my inherent
perspective or viewpoint. I found after this artifact I was more aware of the growing rural and
agriculturally as well as ethnically and culturally diverse populations that came together around
the farming occupation. Locally we are not as rural as the spaces that I have seen in other areas
of the country such where there is more land and more industrial areas however they are not
far from a quality hospital or the bus system that can get them to the facility where they would
receive care. In these ways that I have previously described, this artifact has helped me reach
the PLO#1 of the Health Sciences Course undergraduate degree.
