In your own words, discuss the difference between “emerging adulthood” and “middle
adulthood.”

Emerging adulthood deals with the time when you are an adolescence to the time of
adulthood. In this time, I feel an individual is learning the responsibility that is needed to
be an adult, set personal goals and achievements for the future, those could include
various milestones through this time. During this time, I feel that you are still attempting
to fit in and adjusting with social norms. While middle adulthood, you are more content,
self-confident, self-reliant in which you have already set those particular goals or
achievements well into action and are working toward more personal relationship, such
as marriage and raising a family of your own rather than attempting to fit in.

2.Is the personality you display in social media different from the personality you display
in person? Please explain.

I like to be who I am always whether online or not. I feel that if I put myself out there in
the virtual realm that people with similar interest will approach me and hence can be
more social and make friends easier that have similar interests. A virtual medium does
offer its advantages for me though. I feel that I can express myself more freely and
openly without the worry of initial judgment by others. When meeting someone in the
public I would be less likely to approach them as I often tend to be more reserved when
I generally meet someone new in person. I may never speak to certain individuals
because it is more difficult for me to talk to them and hence get to know them as a
person. So, in that regards it does offer me a sense of security. Sometimes these turn
into personal long-term relationships other times it is strictly a virtual one.
