Check-in/Check-out is a student support system run at Fall-Hamilton E.S.is a program in which


struggling students, in the educational level but specially at the emotional and social levels, partners
with an adult, whom is not the student’s classroom teacher, doing a daily Check-in/check-out, the pair,
adult and student meet for 2 minutes ant the beginning and at the end of the day, in the beginning of
the day they stablish a Goal Sheet that is approved by the student’s classroom teacher, and the goals are
stablished based on the student’s needs and struggles. at the end of the day, they evaluate, students
can get scores of 0, 1, or 2. and given a good performance, they we recognition, they can get prizes or
even a phone call to their parents commending their good performance. The check-in/check-out
support system goes beyond prizes and recognition is about the relationship and accountability, that
gives struggling students a great motivation, helping them to accomplish their goals, and becoming
better students.

I agree students need to satisfy their emotional and social needs, boosting their motivation, helps
them to achieve their academic goals as well as their emotional and social goals.
