UNIT-I

Q.1. What do you understand by the term ‘standing orders’ as defined under the Industrial
Employment Standing orders Act, 1946? Explain with the help of relevant decided cases.

UNIT-II

Q.2. Explain the definition of factory as given under Section 2(m) of the Factories Act, 1948. Refer to
decided cases in support of your answer.

UNIT-III

Q.3.The Minimum Wages Act, 1948 with the object of securing basic subsistence level to the
workers has upgraded the status of the Directive Principles of State Policy and seems to be in conflict
with Article 19(1) (g) of the constitution. Explain with the help of judicial decisions.

UNIT-IV

Q.4. Define the terms Manufacturing Process, Employment Injury and Permanent Partial
Disablement as used in the Employee State Insurance Act, 1948. Refer to relevant case laws.

UNIT-V

Q. 5. What is forced labour? Is it the same as trafficking and slavery? Discuss the legislative and
judicial action for eradicating boded labour in India.
