Project Presentation - Checklist


Description Check (√)
General
Don’t put too much text
Don’t use complete sentences
Don’t read everything from the slide
Use specified font & font size
Units with proper notation
Use sentence case everywhere
Use … with the title if topic is continued
Do not use colon for titles and sub titles
Insert slide numbers
Use of technical language (Eg. Won’t – would not)
Grouping relevant points with bullets and sub bullets
Literature Survey
Use specified format for literature
Include only the literature relevant to the current work
Consolidation of literature
Gaps in literature must be stated
Objective & Methodology
Objective should be concise and not more than 2 points (Preferably one)
Methodology should be presented as a flowchart in a single slide
Experimental Plan
Specification of the instruments used must be provided
Include diagrams and schematics (self-drawn) for better understanding
Design of Experiments
Justification for the selected parameters and levels
Avoid unequal intervals (if not provide scientific reasons for doing so)
State the number of trials (Minimum: 3)
Specify the mean and standard deviation
Figures
Complete and concise figure titles at bottom (eg.) Fig. 2 Experimental setup for static deflection
Good quality figures with parts labelled
Tables
Avoid table for just one or two record
Table headers – bold & centred
Table title on top of the table
Unit for a field must be specified in the column heading
Group the data in the table as per requirement
Graphs
For graphs, use different line types with different markers (should be interpretable in black & white
printouts)
X and Y scales should be uniform for easy comparison
Must avoid repetition of same information in ‘graph’ as well as ‘table’
Conclusions
Give quantitative conclusions
Conclusion should be an abstract of entire work done
References
Clearly distinguish between your contribution and work done by others
Cite thesis of previous batch, if it is a continuation project
References must be given wherever necessary
Arrange the references in chronological order and not to use numbering
