Introduction
Operation management is important for each and every business, it increases business
productivity and efficiency (Munson, 2019). In this report the author will be focus different
practices of operation management. The author will be show the impact of operation
management on organization. Then the author will be show the way to embed technology on
operation management. And at last the author will be show the related functions of operation
management with their impact to achieve business or organizations success.

1.Operation management practices of Hichrom

There have a different practices of operation management and all of the practices is important for
organization. Such as supply chain management, quality and capacity management. From all of
this, supply chain management is on of the most practiced operation management by Hichrom.
Hichrom is manufacturer organization and they are deals with different products and services
where they use supply chain management as their basic operation management practice. Through
this they control all of their service quality, schedule, planning and organizing process. Then the
main impact of supply chain management is that through its organization can collecting raw
materials and can convert it into finished goods (Harrison, 1993). For all of this reason the author
identifies chain supply management as Hichrom operation management practice.

2.Impact of operation management practice on organizations efficiency

Operation management practice makes a huge impact on organizations efficiency where supply
chain management practice is one of the important elements that’s are used by Hichrom. Supply
management helps organization to maintain organizational supply and demand. It helps
organization to maintain their products and service quality, to innovate new products, to reduce
production cost and maintain the accurate time. This operation management practice includes in
different types of organization such as refining, retailer, manufacturing, farming, design and
transportation. And my selected Hichrom is a manufacturing organization and they are also
practice supply chain management to done all of their business task. Supply chain management
change the whole scenario of organizations efficiency and productivity such as through this
organization can collect their raw materials and can convert it into products (Frazier, 2002). Then

chain supply management helps organization to make plan that how they will be work in future,
which products they will be produce and when they will be produce all of this things are done by
this operation management practice. So, through supply chain management Hichrom can make
their works plan, they will be able to collect their raw materials can makes it products. Then it
can helps organization to reduce their production cost with ensuring the quality of products.
Supply chain management improved the work speed of the employees which positively impact
on efficiency and productivity of an organizations. Through this operation management Hichrom
can increase their working speed which will be help them to do more works and produce more
services in a low time. Then supply chain management increase system efficiency of an
organization such as through this organization can easily maintain their all organizational
activities and also can maintain their business model (Chopra, 2019). So, Hichrom also can be
maintain their organizational system which will be help them to get the bets result from their
employee. Supply chain management basically helps organization to invent new products and
collect new and unique raw materials which helps organization to produce new and unique
products with ensuring its quality. Then through this different organization can done their all task
of production to consumption. So, through this operation management Hichrom will be manage
their all production activities from manufacturing process to consumption. Then other operation
management also makes a huge impact on organization efficiency, but chain supply management
is one of the most effective operation management which helps organization to rapidly increase
their growth. Supply chain management work as flow of business which represent the different
functions of organizational function such as planning, organizing, direction and monitoring. Such
as through this Hichrom can plan their future work activities according to their business model
and structure. Then Hichrom can organize their all business function by this such as they will be
able to manage their all business elements, then through this they will be applied to directs their
employee and also can monitor them towards their activities and all of these function directly
impact on Hichrom efficiency and productivity (Mentzer, 2001). So, by supply chain
management practice Hichrom will be able to control, manage, monitor and can organize their all
business function and the most important thing is that by this operation management Hichrom
can collect their raw materials, can invent new products and can reaches it on consumption
which helps them to increase efficiency and productivity.

3.Way to embed technology in this operation management process

Technology is important factors for operation management specially for supply chain
management because it reduces cost of the organization and ensure the quality of products.
Technology makes huge impact on organization to increase their efficiency and productivity.
Nowadays most of the organization used technology on their business operation management
and its really effective for their growth. On supply chain management process organization can
easily embed technology such as we know that supply chain management manage raw materials
and finished products from main point to consumption point so through technology Hichrom or
other organizations can collect and store lots of raw materials by using of technology (Handfield,
2004). There have a lots of organization in all over the UK and also in all over the world where
they embedded technology on operation management, and they are already started to get benefit
from it. Organization can use technology by different way such as there have a different way to
use it such as organization can use machines, internet and different equipment which can help
organization to produce products. So, when organization or Hichrom will be going to collect raw
materials then on this time they can be use technology to collect it such as by internet they can
get the review of raw materials and can verify the price of raw materials and the important thing
is that they can analyse the market. After selecting raw materials, they can take it by use latest
transportation which are done by use of technology. Then after collecting raw materials Hichrom
can use technology to manufacture the raw materials into goods. After the manufacturing process
through using of technology they can promote it towards the customer and can export it on
different country which will be help them to enter into global market. Supply chain management
process is a long-term process but using of technology organization can reduce lots of time and
can easily produce their products and also can sell those on the markets. Then technology helps
organization to reduce production cost, because nowadays most of the organization spend lots of
money to produce quality products but using technology organization can easily reduce their
production with ensuring its best quality (Greasley, 2013). Technology improved the
standardization of the products and raw materials of an organization. So, in different way
Hichrom can embed technology on their supply chain management process where the main and
important way is to use it from collecting raw materials to sells the products on the customer.
Technology increase productivity and efficiency of Hichrom and which helps them to reach on
their targeted goals and objectives. Basically, technology helps supply management to

successfully and easily done their work. Such as through operation management when
organization collect raw materials then on this time technology helps them to identify the best
and quality raw materials. So, in this whole discussion we see that in different way technology
could be embed in operation management and specifically in supply chain management. And
technology improve the overall performance of supply chain management including better
outcomes from it.

4.Supporting function of this operation management practice and their


impact to achieve business success

Here the operation management practice is supply chain management practice and it have a
different supporting function such as purchasing, operations, logistics, resource management and
information workflow (Munson, 2020). All of this supporting is essential for business it helps
them to reach on their target with ensuring benefits.

 Purchasing: This is one of the main supporting function of supply chain management
because through this organization can buy raw materials. All organization works to
produce different products and to produce this at first, they need to collect raw materials
and other resources which they will be convert in finished goods and products. It is
essential for each and every organization because without buying any raw materials and
resources they will be not able to produce products. That’s why this supporting function
is the main and first function of supply chain management. And if organization or
Hichrom able to purchase best raw materials with a best price then it will be assist them
to achieve their goals and objectives.
 Operations: This is the second supporting function of supply chain management and it
helps organization to make plan and forecasting and this all work are done by
management team. Basically, operation team analyse market demands and according to
market demand they collect raw materials and produce it (Hill, 2012). So, Hichrom also
can use this to analysing market demand and after analysing the market they will be able
to understand that which raw materials is best, which raw materials has demand on
customer and how many unit they should produce. So, if operation team can correctly
analyse the market demand then it helps them to produce right amount of products and
which assist them to ensure their business goals, objectives and their overall success.

 Logistics: After collecting raw materials organization analyse the market demand and
then they convert it into finished goods and in this stage, they ensure that all the
production surely reach at the end of the point which means on consumer hand. This also
called as a coordination function because on this stage organization store their products to
ensure its availably on the market (Christopher, 2005). So, through this supporting
function of supply chain management Hichrom will be able to storage their products and
distribution of its among the consumer level. And if Hichrom or other organization use
this supporting function then it will be helping to achieve their goals and objectives and
they will be successful on the business field.
 Resource management: This supporting function of supply chain management collaborate
different elements of business such as raw materials, employee, time and uses of
technology (Shulver, 2012). That which raw materials would be perfect for
manufacturing, how many employee will be work, which technology they will be use and
how to use it and in how many time they will be finish their all production process.
Resource management collaborate and maintain all of these elements. Then through this
function organization can allocate raw materials and resources to convert it into finished
goods with reducing cost and ensuring the quality of products. So, through this operation
management function Hichrom will be able to allocate their raw materials with reducing
cost and ensuring its quality which will be assist them to achieve or ensure their business
success.
 Information workflow: This is the last supporting function of supply chain management
and through this organization maintain their communication process. This function helps
other function to work properly thorough communication organization can know about
raw materials and it demands on the market then through this function they pass this
news towards other function (Mentzer, 2001). If the information workflow or
communication is good, then organization can get best result or outcome from the other
supporting function of supply chain management but if information workflow work
poorly then it can negatively impact on business. So, information workflow can help
Hichrom to maintain communication process or to sharing information about different
elements of business which can assist organization to reach on their targeted goals and
objectives.

Conclusion
Operation management is the key elements of business it guides organization to reach on their
targeted goals and objectives. There has a different practice of operation management where
supply chain management is one of the important practices which helps organization to maintain
the supply demand balance on an organization (Parker, 2002). Supply chain management is the
backbone of a business, it helps organization to collect the raw materials and convert it into
finished goods with a specific time period, ensuring the quality of a products a reduced the cost
of production.
