Please choose one of the four cases to review and use propriate framework to
answer the question.
Case 1: M&S Enters China
Question: What consideration of style and design, color and product quality did M &
S overlook? Why are these elements important to study when expanding
internationally?
Case 2: Midea Globalization Challenge for a Leading Chinese Home Appliance
Manufacturer
Question: Would you recommend that Midea should focus on defending its domestic
market position or attack the international market? Why?
Case 3: Cameron Auto Parts (A)
Question: What about the alternatives to licensing?
Case 4: Cameron Auto Parts (B)
Question: If Cameron is to seize its international opportunities, what does it needs to
do?

Option 2
Please write an essay about 3000 – 5000 to review one of the following journal
papers:
1) Asset specificity and foreign market entry mode choice of small and medium-
sized enterprises
2) Competing with Giants
3) Exploring the role of government involvement in outward FDI from emerging
economies
4) The Selection of Key Informants in IB Cross-cultural Studies
Suggested outline
Section 1: what is the research question?
Section 2: describe the research plan, what are the hypothesis? what research
approach is used? How are the data and information collected and processed?
Section 3: what are the conclusions of the research?
Section 4: what are your comments on this research?

Format of the Paper

1. The write-up should be typed 11-point font of Calibri, Times New Roman, Arial or
other commonly used font styles. The printouts should be 1.25 line spacing.
2. The text of the report should be between 3000-5000 words. Tables and graphs are
not counted into the word limits.
3. References should be in the American Psychological Association or other
recognized professional and academically acceptable styles. References will not be
counted as into the word limits.
4. Hand in the hardcopy report to the instructor no later than Dec. 3.
