What This Module is About
Lifestyle and fitness plays a crucial role in everybody’s well-being especially in
times of quarantine due to a pandemic. Sedentary behavior and less levels of
physical activity can have unfavorable effect on the health and well-being of
individuals especially to those individual who are highly active. Being quarantine for
days can sometimes cause mental stress that might lead to vulnerability. Physical
fitness is a vital coping mechanism for those who try to keep anxiety at bay and
maintain a sense of order and well-being . Also PA have a profound impact on
boosting immunity, low risk of chronic diseases, reduce depression and anxiety an
essential measures in this unprecedented time.
Physical active recreation is set for the purpose of enjoyment and relaxation
compared to its counterpart competitive sports, where strict rules needed to be
followed. In this module Active Recreation compose of indoor and outdoor activities.
By utilizing online and offline access in the classroom, this module provides a
blueprint upon which recreation will promoted over this period of pandemic. And also
it will continue to encourage students' to keep learning the fundamental skills in life
regardless on the educational crisis. Activities in this module were simplified to suit
the needs and situations of the learners in the current Philippine situation.

In module I, nature and background of badminton where being
introduced. Which includes the history, basic skills equipment’s and some facts. Also
a series of activities where given in order for you to master the topic.

Activity 2. It’s Time to Think
This activity will challenge the student’s stock knowledge in terms of
Badminton game.
Direction: Observe the clock on the right side. Instead of numbers what you had
there are letters. With a clue on the Grid (left) the clock, your challenge is to look for
words which are related to badminton. There are 8 words for you to LOOK in to
using the letters inside the clock

BADMINTON
Equipment and Facilities
1. Racket/Racquet
Weight not more than 100 grams
Its length does not exceed 680mm and width does not exceed 230 mm.
The light material are made of aluminum. Some rackets are made of alloy
carbon fiber and boron.
2. Shuttlecock
Also known as the “birdie”
Consist of 16 goose left feather. The length of the feather range between
2.44 and 2.75 inches.
It is in a cone shape

Length of the net varies depending if the game is single or a double.

Standard single game net measures 6.1 meters length 5.2 meters width with
a height of 1.55 meters from the tip of the net to the ground.
4. Court
Measures 13.40 m length and 6.1 width
From the center line to the short service area measure 1.98m. The service
area measure 3.96 m. which is from the short service area line to the
baseline.
5. Posts/Poles
Measures 1.55 m in height
Supports should not extend into the court beyond the side lines.

Procedure:
Prior to planning the activity read the guideline of IAFT about recreational
activities.
Prepare the materials needed
Through-out this activities students are to observe social distancing.
Encourage any member of the family to participate the activities

Objective: Students will develop health campaign awareness and how these may
influence attitudes, promote healthy behaviors and improve connection to the
community.
Direction:
1. Take a picture using yourself as a model playing badminton (you may ask
somebody to take the picture.)
2. Using any picture editor ( Snap seed, Camera 360, zcamera, ect), insert the

Summary
Covid-19 freezes the entire world on its normal activities. While every countries
battling the pandemic, it is important to look after your physical and mental health – and
badminton can help to attain those intension. The following are the health benefits of
Badminton during pandemic:
