Data Commentary -Yvonne Muiruri

This table shows the representation of the number of enrolments of Australian domestic

students into Universities according to their genders. This table is a field study of 2001 and

2016.

The number of female domestic students’ enrolments into the university increases in the year

2016 by 1.6% in comparison to 2001. The number of male domestic students’ enrolment into

university shows a decrease of 1.6% in the year 2016 as compared to 2001. The field study

clearly points out that the number of female domestic students’ enrolment is higher than the

number of male domestic students.

The number of female domestic students enrolled into creative arts in 2001 is much higher

compared to the number of male domestic students enrolled into the same study. The number

of female domestic students enrolled into creative arts in 2001 shows a slight decrease in 2016.

The number if male domestic students increase in 2016 by a slight percentage.

In the society and culture enrolment, the number of female students is greater that the male

students in both 2001 and 2016. Th number of male domestic students in the year 2001 is

34.7% while in 2016 it is 35.2%. This clearly illustrates a slight increase. The number of female

domestic students in 2001 is 65.3% while in 2016 it is 64.8%. This clearly shows a decrease in

number.

In the education study the number of female students shows a difference of more than 40%

higher as compared to the number of male students enrolled. In 2016 the number of female

students shows a slight decrease of 0.3% while the number of males increases by 0.3%.
In the health study the number of female domestic students is higher that the number of male

domestic students. However, the percentage of both male and female students remains

constant in the year 2001 and 2016.

In 2001 and 2016 the number of male domestic students enrolled into the management and

commerce field study is higher than the number of female domestic students. In 2016 the

number of both male and female domestic students is clearly seen to be increasing as

compared to the year 2001.

In information technology, architecture and building, and engineering and related technologies

the number of male domestic enrolled students is much higher than the number of female

domestic student enrolled, in both 2001 and 2016. In the natural and physical science, the

number of female domestic enrolled students is higher than the number of domestic enrolled

male students.

In information technology the number of male students enrolled in 2001 shows an escalation in

the percentage in the year 2016, while the number of female students despite being few shows

a diminution in percentage in the year 2016.

The number of male students enrolled in architecture and building in 2001 declines slight in the

year 2016, while the number of female enrolled students in 2001 show a slight upsurge in 2016.
