Etymology of the Church

The word “church” stems form the work “Ekklesia” which is a Greek noun
meaning ‘an assembly of’. It has many adaptations and root as it has been passed
down from people to people. Ekklesia also means an assembly of people called by God,
putting emphasis on the word assembly as it strongly means of gathering. However,
deviating from the usual meaning of crowd, Church also means a community of faithful
people, which gives the idea of mysticality referencing people. In general awareness,
Church is confined in an adjective sense but as time progresses, the word Church has
been given a deep meaning as in the line of ‘belonging’ but not entirely opposing from
the common understanding as mentioned. Church although a place or gathering, could
also mean the Lord as it is his believed home.
