Stage 1

Technology is a great tool that makes our life easier of course. Since we have
access to this world, things are not as hard as they used to be before. We can
some many gadgets that are waiting for us to be used. We can use it to pay buy
online, pay bills, wash clothes and do other things without making great effort.
However, those advantages and amazing things, we can’t deny that these
resources have a negative impact in the environment. Some metals elements are
needed to create this. People are very compulsive when it comes to buy and get
things. I think that people should avoid buying things or gadgets to be more
specific since these devices have a short useful life.

Stage 2
What do you think will happen if current trends of technology development and
consumerism continue?

I consider that if these current trends of technology development and consumerism

continue, we will have serious environmental problems because these companies
just waste our natural resources, no matter the damage it causes to our world. The
global warming is a problem we are facing since many years ago and we haven’t
been aware enough of the problem we are provoking. Developing countries just
are interested on what they will produce and sell without looking at the serious
impact this is causing to the environment causing the degradation of lands. These
companies just want to make their economy growth and we, as members of these
world help a lot in the rising levels of consumption.

Stage 3
In my opinion, governments should take this into account and take control of this
problem. If The United Nations take actions, I’m sure things will be different. They
should create some policies that take control and make companies to follow. The
environment is of everybody and anything affects all. Technology is a good
resource but should be eco-friendly. I extremely think that is necessary to put
hands on work. I recommend to governments to gather and have urgent solutions
to this issue. I would say like sustainable development.

I would like to open an important discussion with you about some environmental
issues that are affecting our home: The Earth.

The problem I will mention is technology and the effects on the environment. Most
of technology resources have a negative impact in the ecosystem. This practice is
killing our animals and polluting the air we breathe and the water we drink.
Factories are very conscious about their surroundings and contaminate the world. I
remember once, in my country there was found a lot of coal some trucks of a
company put in a river and there was not any consequence for that company but
many fish died, and not only that, but the water was polluted.

I think and strongly recommend that the government should take actions when
things like this occurs. If they do not take control or create polices to avoid these
practices, the world will be very face serious environmental issues earlier than I
think. Next generations will not have a healthy environment.

I really wish this problem finish soon and the companies not only taxes but help to
take care of our planet. They should do some activities like, cleaning rivers,
planting trees, and some other things that will help The Earth to keep its natural
process. I hope that you do something to solve this issue that is a matter of quality
life.
