1. What is the main document evidencing production process? What does it record? P4 (2 point)
Answer: The production order is the main document in the production process. It records the progress of the
production process for each item produced.
2. What are the 4 main types of Bills of Materials or BOM? Expound each in maximum of
two (2) sentences per item. P6 (8 points)
Answer:
Production. This BOM is used in the production order. The parent item is a finished material, and the children
are the components.
Sales. This BOM is used in sales documents. The parent item must be a sales item only.
Assembly. This BOM is similar to the sales bill of materials. It represents a collection of individual items in
a set with a specific price.
Template. This BOM has no restrictions. Both the parent and the children can be any type of items.
3. What are the three (3) categories (attributes) maintained in the item record of a master product?

Answer:
Standard. This is used for regular production. Components are copied from the item BOM.
Special. This is used to produce items or perform activities on the shop floor that are not based on the Standard
BOM.
Disassembly. This is used to report the disassembly of an item with a production BOM. Components are copied
from the item BOM.
