Regionalism at Home

John Richard C. Vallejo

1. Identify 3 areas in your house (for examples: dining area, sleeping area,
recreational area, parking area, etc.)
 Dining Area
 Living Room
 Bedroom
2. List down things that can be found in that area
 Dining Area – Dinner Table
 Living Room – Sofa
 Bedroom – Bed
3. What do you think is the reason/s why these things are being put together in that
particular area?
 Dinner Table – Dinner table is important because it helps family to have
family meals. Family meals enable members of the family to come
together, reinforce bonds, and improve relationships. They foster a sense
of belonging, which boosts self-esteem. Family meals provide an
opportunity for parents to serve as role models. They will set an example
of proper table etiquette and safe eating habits.
 Sofa - Comfort is one of the most important aspects of a living room.
While you're at it, the type of sofas you choose will have a significant
impact on how relaxed your family and guests will feel in your living room.
 Bed - The main aim of a bed, of course, is for you to sleep in it. It's one of
the characteristics that distinguishes humans from other species.... You'll
need a bed in order to get a good night's sleep. This is important because
it benefits your overall wellbeing.
4. In relation to regionalism, what do you think are the factors that countries are
formed into regions? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
 A region is an area that includes a number of places--all of which have
something in common. Geographers categorize regions in two basic
ways: physical and cultural. Physical regions are defined by landform
(continents and mountain ranges), climate, soil, and natural vegetation.
Cultural regions are distinguished by such traits as language, politics,
religion, economics, and industry.
 One disadvantage of regionalism is that it can be too inclusive and keep
new individuals out. An advantage of regionalism includes having
individuals learn their roles in the community. one disadvantage of
regionalism is that it can be too inclusive and keep new individuals out.
