The Beatles were one of the most famous music

groups of rock. Many consider them the best

musical group on Earth. They were the most
successful group in history; they sold 1.1 billion of
records.

The members of the group were John Lennon, Paul

McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They
were all from Liverpool, England. More famous than
their music were their haircuts, which were called
“mop-tops”.

The music was excellent but the songs of Lennon and McCartney were even better. “Yellow submarine”,
“A hard day’s night” and “Help!” were very successful songs all around the world. The group had millions
of fans but by 1970, they started to discuss all the time, they had too many differences to continue
together, so they separated that year.

They decided to go on with their musical

careers everyone on their own. John Lennon
was the one who got the most success. He
wrote the worldwide famous song “Imagine”,
now a peace symbol. He became a peace
activist more than a musician. He was killed by
a madman when he was signing autographs to
his fans in 1980. His best friend was Paul
McCartney, the guitar player when they were
in the group. He went on singing alone and
today he’s still releasing records.

Today many of the Beatles’ songs are still played on radio stations and new fans listen to the Beatle’s
songs on Mp3 and I-Pods.
