In terms of Rapid Technology Innovations

- The scope of Technology and operation management has
evolved over a period of time and has moved from
development of products into design, management and
improvement of operating system and processes.
Operations Management is being challenges by the our
technology right now and I think Operations Management
should adapt and use technology as an asset to progress
Operations Management better.
In terms of Globalization
- As the forces of globalization, such as reduction in trade
barriers, cheaper and easier means of international
transportation and communication. This means that
operations has reached on a global scale and results to
harder management of operations because having to
manage imports and exports involves 2 or more countries
and many steps to be done and fulfilled.
In terms of Consumers Demanding Expectations
- Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) software has
become a must for modern-day manufacturing operations
as customer demand for increased product assortment,
fast delivery, and downward cost pressures become
prevalent. These systems help planners save time while
providing greater agility in updating ever-changing
priorities, production schedules, and inventory plans. APS
Systems can be quickly integrated with an ERP/MRP
 software to fill gaps where these system lack planning and
scheduling flexibility, accuracy, and efficiency. Due to
rising demands, systems and programs are made and
initialized to solve these problems for more efficient
solution.
In terms of Today's workers demand
- Maintaining your employees is a challenge in Operations
Management because employees is the manpower of a
business or organization. Providing the proper training
and benefits to employees is one challenge because that
is how you would make your employees stay.
In todays Manufacturing conditions
- Nowadays, every part of a modern manufacturing
company process runs on IT. If you get the right system
installed to and leverage your data properly you'll reap the
benefits. If you don't, you're putting yourself at risk of
falling behind your competitors who are most certainly
doing everything possible to gain an edge. Manufacturers
used to source their materials locally and sell to a local or
national market. Materials can be sourced from anywhere
and your marketplace is the entire world. This can be one
of the greatest challenges of operations management.
One of the biggest challenges faced by operations
managers in the manufacturing industry is being able to
communicate effectively with all internal and external
stakeholders. Today's manufacturing customers expect to
receive accurate quotes instantly is also a challenge that
is present today. After they place their order they expect
reliable, defect-free products to the exact specifications
that they ordered ASAP.
