It is no secret that our planet is sick but most definitely not incurable.

When mother
nature strikes back with natural disasters, people who are not prepared and informed are the ones
who suffer the most. Going to the field with proper exposure and information on how to prepare
and deal with said disasters will save lives. There is no easier way to save lives other than saving
lives and livelihoods through the power of knowledge.

But raising awareness is only half the battle. Since we cannot remove the severity of
natural hazards, people with authorities should be the one enforcing and implementing ways on
how to lessen the risks when a disaster comes our way. Such as installing early warning systems,
identifying evacuation routes and preparing emergency supplies. The knowledge and capacities
of governments, professional response and recovery organisations, communities and individuals
will greatly lessen its risks.

Now, to deliver the final blow. Enhancing and training the response teams such as
firefighters and ambulances should not be overlooked. Once a disaster hits, there will always be
casualties. With enough and quick action from our response teams, allows affected citizens to
have a wider time frame of survivability. Also mobility of relief and aid will also be faster if
there is already an existing plan ahead of time.

All of this can be achieved with the help of cooperation, investments and proper
implementation and support of our government. In this time of crisis, we must utilize and
optimize all of our resources to ease the situation. Our Risk Reduction system is also due for a
glow up during this quarantine period.
