THE RESEARCH REPORT

The written report enables the manager to weigh the facts and arguments presented therein, and
implement the acceptable recommendations, with a view to closing the gap between existing
state to affairs and the desired below. It’s important to identify the purpose of the report, because
the brief format of the report depends on the purpose of the report.
The length, organization, and presentation modes of the report will, among other things, depends
at least in part on the target audience.
Characteristic of a well-written report :

3. Coherence
4. The right emphasis on important aspects
5. Meaningful organization of paragraph
6. Smooth transition from one topic to the next

Content of thre research report :
1. An introductory section detailing the purpose of the study
2. The body of the report contain details regarding the framework of the study, hypotheses,
sampling design, data collection method, analysis of data, and the result obtain
3. The finding and draw conclusions
Integral parts of the report :
a. The title page
It should succintly indicate what the study is all about. The title page will indicate the
name of the sponsor of the study, the name of researchers and their affiliations, and the
date of the final report
b. Table of contents
It usually lists the important headings and subheadings in the report with page references.
c. The research proposal and the authorization letter
A copy of the letter of authorization from the sponsor of the study approving the
investigation and detailing its scope will be attached at the beginning of the report along
with the research proposal
d. The executive summary or synopsis
It is a brief account of the research study that provides an overview, and highlights the
following important information related to it : the problem statement, sampling design,
data collection method used, result of data analysis, findings, and recommendations, with
suggestions for their implementation.

It starts with a statement of the problem under investigation.
f. The body of the report
In this part, the details of the interviews conducted, the literature survey, the theoretical
framework, and the hypotheses are furnished.
g. The final part of the report
It will contain the conclusion draw from the findings.

Is the appropiate place for organization chart, newspaper clippings or other materials that
substantiate the next of the report, detailed verbatim narration of interviews with
members and whatever else might help the reader follow the text.

Oral presentation
The oral presentation calls for considerable planning. An 20-minute presentation and a short
question and answer session thereafter do call for substantial planning, anticipation for audience
concerns, psychological preparedness, and good impresion management skills.
