Why glass is transparent?

If you Google this question you would get answers like its super cooled liquid or so but that
doesn’t answer the question perfectly or it is completely wrong answer to this question.
Why light can get through some materials and why it can get through other materials. What
makes glass transparent?
What goes on inside glass? The important thing how electrons are set in the glass. We know
that electrons absorb photons and move to the higher energy levels. This energy levels also
depend upon the material. Electrons cant live in between two energy levels so we can infer that
only those photons can absorbed by the electrons which can satisfy the energy difference
between two energy levels and any photon having energy less than the energy difference of
two levels will pass through the material. For glass and some other special materials which are
transparent this energy difference is very large. Visible light which our eyes are capable to see
aren’t absorb by glass because they don’t have enough energy to be absorbed by electrons of
glass.
Huuuuh thankfully now we know why glass is transparent.
