Reflection

I chose to complete my curation to provide resources for my sixth-grade mathematics class.

Specifically, I chose the topics 3D Shapes/Nets and One-Step Equations. I chose two different

curation tools: Listly and Wakelet. I have used Listly before in a previous class and have heard of

Wakelet so decided to use these two curation tools for the assignment. I explored almost every

tool listed in the required readings and found that these two were by far two of the easiest to

use with friendly interfaces. Some others were more difficult to navigate. I especially liked how

easy it was to add links and annotate directly under each resource. It made that component of

the assignment much easier that other curation tools would have. I have more experience with

Listly, which leads me to be more comfortable and knowledgeable when using this tool.

However, Wakelet was just as user-friendly so I do not prefer one over the other. These two

tools would be so easy for me to integrate into my classroom. I can have students create their

own Listly and/or Wakelet to house important resources throughout the year or make one for

each of the seven units in sixth grade math. I could also use this from a teacher’s perspective

and create a Listly or Wakelet as an assignment board using the annotations as directions that

students would follow as they guide themselves through the curation, which is a lot like how I

have it set up in this assignment. Overall, I enjoyed working with Listly and Wakelet to create

my own curation of resources that I can use in my classroom. I am also looking forward to

integrating them into my class.
