Preface
The 2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Algorithms and Control Engineering (ICAACE 2021)
was successfully held online through Zoom on Jan. 29-31, 2021. Due to COVID-19 and the pandemic-related
nationwide lockdowns and other coordinated restrictive measures, the organizers decided to hold a
conference in a virtual format with the organization of access for all participants to the presented reports with
comprehensive discussion for ensuring the event at a high scientific level.
ICAACE 2021 is to bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of advanced
algorithms and control engineering to a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote
research and developmental activities in advanced algorithms and control engineering. And another goal is
to promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and
practitioners working all around the world. The conference will be held every year to make it an ideal
platform for people to share views and experiences in advanced algorithms and control engineering and
related areas.
The safety and well-being of all conference participants is our priority. The COVID-19 is unpredictable,
so conference postponement met uncertainty, while many scholars and researchers want to attend this long-
waited conference and have academic exchanges with their peers. But I want to note that there are no barriers
to science, and we continue to work on our research areas remotely, using modern technical means. Under
this situation, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote
speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as
the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in
the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches.
More than 110 participants attended the meeting. We were greatly honored to have invited Prof. Ghassan
Beydoun, from University of Technology Sydney and A. Prof. Antti Rasila, from Technion – Israel Institute
of Technology, Guangdong Technion to serve as our General Conference Chair. There were over 20 experts
and scholars in the area of Advanced Algorithms and Control Engineering representing different famous
universities and institutes around the globe to form Conference Committees.
In the keynote presentations part, we invited three professors as our keynote speakers. The first keynote
speakers, Dr. Tian Qiu, from Wuyi University, China was invited to present his talk A liquid-lens based defect
inspection algorithm for optical isolators. In his keynote speech, he proposed an automatic defect inspection
algorithm using liquid lens based on the physical structure of the optical isolator. A. Prof. Antti Rasila,
Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Guangdong Technion. He was our second keynote speakers. He
presented a talk: Conformal mappings in mathematical modeling. In this talk, he outlined main methods for
computing conformal mappings on the plane and on space surfaces. And then discussed both their classical
and contemporary applications on modeling different types of real-world phenomena. Several examples of
such models, with discussion on their respective advantages and disadvantages were given. A. Prof. Wei
Jiang, from Zhejiang University, China as our finale keynote speakers. He presented a talk: Research on
Person Re-identification in Intelligent Visual Surveillance.
We are glad to share with you that we received lots of submissions from the conference and we selected
a bunch of high-quality papers and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewed them. These
papers feature following topics but are not limited to: 1. Algorithms and Data Structures. 2. Electrical systems.
3. Machine Learning, Intelligent data analysis and Data Mining. 4. Mathematical and computer modelling.5.
Systems and automation. 6. Process control. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process
to meet the requirements of International publication standard.
We are really grateful to the International/ National advisory committee, keynote speakers, session chairs,
organizing committee members, student volunteers and administrative assistance of the management section
of University, including accounts section, digital media and publication house. Also, we are thankful to all
the authors for contributing a large number of papers in the conference, because of which the conference
became a story of success. It was the quality of their presentations and their passion to communicate with the
other participants that really make this conference series a great success.
