Sundance...Learning Pathway On Screenwriting...

Designed Obstacles...
General Prompts...by Joan Tewkesbury

Some things to consider that come from your own experience and
can trigger a memory, an event or a situation you can superimpose,
literally or figuratively, into the fabric of a fictional character or a
fictional situation...

Three closets that you remember.

Three things that you would never do.
Three things you could use as a weapon, not a gun or a knife.
Three things you worry about.
Three punishing situations.
Three pair of shoes that you remember.
Three times you ran away.
Three things you can’t seem to finish.
Three fur coats that you remember.
Three things you’d hate to lose.
Three times you turned someone down.
Three people you can’t rely on.
Three bad smells.
Three times you were reckless.
Three times you felt guilty.
Three things you never told your mother.
Three erotic possibilities.
Three things that make you laugh.

Keep a notebook of your findings and create some of your own to use
as reference material in future.
