This plan is quite basic but there should be enough BASE DIMENSIONS
info to make your jig. Be sure to watch the video and
see the jig in action for it to make more sense.
The video can be found on my YouTube channel ‘Pask
Makes’.

I can be reached at paskmakes@gmail.com if you need 194.0mm

any further assistance.

A fence needs making for the jig to ride against. I don’t

show the fence in this plan but it’s very simple and will
be obvious how to make after viewing the video.

I made my jig from 17mm plywood. It shouldn’t make
too much difference if you use something similar.
45.0mm
I used a combination of nails, screws and glue but use 18.0mm
whatever you have or whatever is easiest. 90.0mm

The machine screws to hold the handle aren’t shown,

they can be seen in the video and are M6 and 40mm
long and used with threaded inserts.

To make the handles start with a blank 35x35mm and

110mm long.

For a 8 sided handle you will need a 45° guide block.

Watch the video to see how to make the cuts.

For a 5 sided handle you will need a 54° guide block.

A ten sided handle can be made from the 5 sided han-
dle using a 90° guide.

For a 6 sided handle you wil need a 30° guide block.

STANDARD TEMPLATE
Make sure to set your printer to print at 100% scale. The template should
measure 194mm across.
KNIFE TEMPLATE
I made this template for an oval shaped handle for a carving knife. One side
of the template is used for the sides of the handle and the other is used to
shape the top and bottom.
Make sure to set your printer to print at 100% scale. The template should
measure 194mm across.
