Christmas is a yearly celebration for the
birth of Jesus Christ on the 25th of
December. This day is usually called the
“mass of Christ”, December 25th is used as
the date because it means the “the birth of
the unconquered sun”. Christmas holds a
Mass at midnight and candlelight service
in the evening. December 24th is Christmas
eve consisting of scripture readings and
carols. The Christmas feast originated
towards the end of the 18th century which
reminded Christians that Jesus was a gift
from God to humankind.

The seven dimensions and what they represent in the religions
Christmas day for a Christian
I started Christmas eve with a
midnight mass, its surprising to
see how many people attend the
mass at such a late time. Jesus
inspires people to come forward
and celebrate the beginning of his
existence, which turned out to be
a sacrifice for humanity. The
carols carried over the soft night,
preaching the life of Jesus and
the word of God. The people
caroling had faces full of joy and
happiness, controlling the
atmosphere with love and
devotion of their religion. People
attending the local nativity scene
pay respects with prayer and
listening to the gospels. The
Church lights their candles and
prepares for the midnight mass a
few hours before Christmas day.
At this mass they hold a gift
giving ritual as it represents the
gift of Jesus. The mass starts with
the introductory rites, welcoming
attendies and holding an opening
prayer.
During the opening prayer i
feel a sense of welcoming and
openness towards the church,
priest and people around me.
Everyone is quiet while the
priest reads prayers listing to
the significances of Jesus
christ. Holy Communion
follows as we consume the
body and blood of Jesus
through bread and wine. when
he celebrated the last supper
he told his 12 apostles “Take,
eat; this is my body.” He then
passed a cup of wine to them,
saying, “This is my blood.”.
this is an ongoing ceremony
due to the importance of being
closer to Jesus and God.

Thanksgiving dinner is set on
the table as family and friends
gather around to feast. A short
prayer is said in thanks for the
meal that God has gifted us.
Through this prayer we show
our gratefulness for our
benefit and divine favors done
by God for us to live a better
life. The meal is devoured as
conversation floats over the
table, sharing stories and joy
to the people attending dinner.
A meal was prepared for the
local neighborhood center the
day before thanksgiving so the
homeless can have a meal in
thanks for God’s creation.
After dinner we set to the
streets to deliver food and
water to the homeless,
spreading joy and hope for the
people in need.

Sunday mass
By attending Sunday mass,
it shows devotion towards
Christianity and love for
God. Each Sunday herds of
people enter the church
doors with some intention
of getting closer to God.
Many walked into the
church with hope and pride
and left the church feeling
fulfilled and thankful.
During the mass people
held their cross close to
their heart as they sang to
the gospels and responded
to prayer.
