CSO WEEK 2021

INTERORGANIZATIONAL COMPETITION AGREEMENT

KNOWN ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This agreement is made and entered into by and between:

The COUNCIL OF STUDENT ORGANIZATION, the governing student body of La Salle University, as
represented herein by its Chairperson, MS. SHEILA MAE B. PIELAGO, hereinafter referred to as the
“FIRST PARTY”.

And

The COUNCIL OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ACADEMIC-BASED as the “SECOND PARTY”.

WITNESSETH

WHEREAS, the Council of Student Organizations will celebrate its CSO Week on May 24-28, 2021;

WHEREAS, the FIRST PARTY requires approval of the competition agreement from the SECOND PARTY;

WHEREAS, the final deliberation of mechanics and guidelines was on May __, 2021;

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and the mutual covenants and promises contained
herein, the parties agree as follows:

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. All participants from the student organizations shall be bona fide students of La Salle University
official enrolled in the 2nd Semester of AY 2020-2021. Cross-enrollees are barred from
participating in any of the competitions.
2. The order of presentation is through alphabetical as agreed upon by the president of the
different organization.
3. For verification purposes, the names of the participants and their corresponding certificates of
enrollment (COEs) and Identification Cards (IDs) for all events shall be submitted on or before
May 19, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:59 PM through a document duly signed by the Organization
President and approved by the organization Youth Moderator. COE submission must be by
event so that the Organizing Committee can easily find the COEs and monitor the submissions
for a particular event. Any Identification Card (IDs) shall be considered as long as it verifies the
face and appearance of the participant.
4. The submitted list of participants shall be final. Should the SECOND PARTY decide to send
participants other than those names already submitted, an excuse letter secured from their
Youth Moderator shall be submitted at least two (2) days before the scheduled submission of
entries of the events sent to cso@lsu.edu.ph; during emergencies and accidents (only), a verbal
consent secured from the OIC, Director for Student Affairs will suffice in lieu of the excuse
letter, duly documented by both parties.
5. The organizations’ entries for the events shall be submitted on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday)
11:59 PM.
6. Submission of entries and requirements shall be done by uploading the said files to the
Organizations’ respective Google Drive folder provided by the Organizing Committee. Strictly,
the organizations must use their official organizational LSU Gmail in submitting all
entries/requirements/letters. Failed to follow this guideline, the entry will not be acknowledged.
Once a submission, has been done, the Event Head from the Organizational Council must inform

The file names of the submissions should be according to the following format: Event –
Requirement- Organization (Example: CSOMYX – COE – NATCH, BIRD’S EYE VIEW – Entry – ECC,
etc.)
7. All costumes/attires/outifts shall adhere to what the University Student Handbook allows, as
this is a standing policy regardless of the nature of activity. Entries with participants donning
sexually suggestive and provocative clothing shall not be acknowledged, therefore is void. Such
entries will be given a chance to be changed with an entry with the proper attire from the
Student Handbook given that the deadline for submission of entries have not yet passed.
8. Complaints/Questions/Suggestions/Clarifications on the mechanics of the different events shall
be addressed directly to the FIRST PARTY one (1) week before the submission of entries
through an official letter sent to cso@lsu.edu.ph. The ORGANZING COMMITTEE then reviews

the letter and calls for a meeting to address the concern; the ORGANIZING COMMITTEE reserves
the right to schedule such meeting, favorable to the availability of all persons concerned.
9. For questions and complaints with regard to tabulation of scores and ranks, the SECOND PARTY
shall send a formal letter addressed directly to the FIRST PARTY three (3) hours after the
posting of entries online and must be sent to cso@lsu.edu.ph.
10. Strictly only the SECOND PARTY from each participating organization of a certain event may
raise complaints/questions/suggestions/clarifications directly addressed to the FIRST PARTY.
11. Should there be minor changes concerning changes of platform, rescheduling of events and the
like, the FIRST PARTY shall be held responsible on the proper dissemination of changes provided
that every transaction shall be documented properly.
12. Once the winners are announced, it is final and irrevocable. The decision of the Board of
Judges is subject to deductions by the League of Tabulators. The Head Tabulator will then
inform the Board of Judges as to the final scores of the participants.
13. No member of the League of Tabulators shall be allowed to join in all events of the CSO Week
2021.
14. All entries must be filmed and produced at home. The University discourages student
gatherings, thus, the ORGANIZING COMMITTEE shall prohibit such gatherings unless otherwise
stated in the specific mechanics.
15. If an entry is allowed to be filmed outdoors based on General Guideline #14, COVID-19
protocols, such as wearing of face masks and physical distancing (Refer: Inter-Agency Task
Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) Omnibus Guidelines
of the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines with amendments as of
January 21,2021), must be strictly observed. Proper documentation of the filming, showing the
observance of health protocols, shall be secured and submitted to the Organizing Committee
along with the entries.
16. The League of Tabulators is strictly prohibited from disclosing the results of all events to any
person except the FIRST PARTY until the winners are announced. The League of Tabulators,
however, shall inform both the FIRST PARTY, the SECOND PARTY, and the OIC Director for
Student Affairs of the official results after their final deliberation.
17. The ORGANIZING COMMITTEE reserves the right to create, revoke, and modify at any time, in
any way, its entry requirements, rules, and regulations at its absolute discretion with prior
notice duly consented by the parties involved.
18. The ORGANZING COMMITTEE reserves all intellectual rights to show and distribute all entries in
their perpetuity.

INFOGRAPHMATIVE: INFOGRAPHIC COMPETITION

Description:
An infographic (information graphic) is a representation of information in a graphic format
designed to make the data easily understandable at a glance. It can take the form of a chart, diagram, or
illustration, and usually involves minimal text. This competition will describe and present information
regarding the student organization.

Objectives:

1. Develop and stimulate the student’s creativity in infographic making.


2. Promote the student organization through showing their talents, creativity, and ideas of
Infographics.

Mechanics:

1. All participants must be bona fide students of La Salle University officially enrolled in the
2ndSemester of AY 2020-2021.
2. Each student organization must have one (1) infographic entry.
3. There shall be at least 2 participants from each organization.
4. The infographics must introduce the organization to its viewers. The content must include the
rationale, the objectives, the achievements, and other that can give impact to the organization.
The logos of LSU, SAC, CSO and Organization must be at the top and serves as a header.
5. Entries should be in JPEG or PNG format, and portrait orientation in 1364x2046 pixels
dimension.
6. The entry must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized entry will be disqualified.
7. The participants’ COEs must be submitted to the Organizing Committee on or before May 19,
2021 (Wednesday) 11:59 PM.
8. The following entry are disqualified:
a) Infographics that have been previously submitted.
b) Infographics that violate a person’s right including, but not limited to, copyright and
privacy.
c) Graphics that contain obscene, sexually explicit, offensive, or any other objectionable or
inappropriate content.
9. The entry should be submitted on the Organization’s respective file on or before May 21, 2021
(Friday) 11:59 PM.
10. The scores for the entry will be based according to: 70% from the judges’ scores and 30% from
the People’s Choice through Facebook reactions on May 27, 2021 11:59PM.
11. The decision of the Board of Judges is not yet final and still revocable by the League of
Tabulators. The board reserves the right not to give an award in any category should no entry
merit it and the organizers and the judging committee are not obliged to give explanation for
the results.

BIRD’S EYE VIEW: FLATLAY PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Description:
A flat lay is simply an image shot directly from above – a bird's eye view of an array of carefully
arranged objects. Student organizations can choose to showcase the different range of items in relation
to their program in an aesthetically pleasing manner or tell a story.

Objectives:

1. Enhance students’ artistry and creativity in photography


2. Develop students’ skills in utilizing objects used in their program for art and creativity
3. Develop students’ ability to express and present ideas, concepts, stories, and themes through
photography.

Mechanics:

1. The participant must be a bona fide student of La Salle University officially enrolled in the 2nd
Semester of AY 2020-2021.
2. Each organization must have only one (1) entry and originally produced by one (1) participant.
This must also apply to merge organizations.
3. The COE of the participant must be submitted on or before May 19, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:59
PM through the organization’s google drive folder.
4. Photographs must be in flat lay style. The surface must be flat, and the image shows a singular
dimension taken from a parallel position above the surface.
5. All photographs should be in digital file, full color or black and white, in JPEG or PNG format, and
may be portrait or landscape orientation in any size.
6. Photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene it appears. Editing
should be limited to global adjustments only.
7. Photography shall be done in relevance with the theme “Resilience: Overcoming Adversities.”
8. Photographs submitted should not have any watermarks or any identifying marks of the
participant and organization to eliminate biases in the screening and judging of the submitted
photos.
9. There shall be no borders and/or frames and adding or replacing of elements in the image.
10. The following entry are disqualified:
a) Photographs that have been previously submitted or have won in any photography
contest.
b) Photographs that violate a person’s right including, but not limited to, copyright and
privacy.
c) Photographs that contain obscene, sexually explicit, offensive, or any other
objectionable or inappropriate content.
11. The entry should be submitted on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday) 11:59 PM through the
organization’s respective Google drive folder.

Criteria for Judging:

Quality
Presents images that are sharp, free from smudges and not blurred and
cluttered; Uses appropriate photography techniques to highlight images; 30%
and Properly utilizes foreground and background that show good and

BATTLE OF THE MINDS: QUIZBEE COMPETITION

Battle of the Minds is an academic competition between student organization which measures
student’s mental capacity. It is a game in which teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from
all areas of knowledge.

Objectives:

1. Challenge the participants to solve and understand questions and problems intellectually.
2. Allow participants to showcase their intelligence and proficiency in various fields.
3. Encourages students to strengthen their knowledge socially and academically.
4. Boosts students’ confidence by way of participating and representing their selves from their
colleges.
5. Promote camaraderie, sportsmanship and academic excellence among student organizations.

A. General Mechanics

1. All participants must be bona fide students of La Salle University officially enrolled in the
2ndSemester of AY 2020-2021.
2. There must be two (2) participants from each organization.
3. The contest shall be conducted into three (3) rounds: Easy, Average and Difficult.
4. Each question shall have corresponding point/s.
5. The first team to answer correctly shall have the highest point.
6. Any group caught in any act of cheating or any form of dishonesty shall automatically be
disqualified.
7. The scope of the questions are the following:
 History
 Literature
 Science
 Math
 Economics
 Fine arts
 Current events
 Sports
 Popular Culture and
 Lasallian identity
8. Each question in any given round has corresponding time limit and type of questions.
 Easy Round 20 seconds Multiple Choice
 Average Round 30 seconds Multiple choice and Checkbox
 Difficult Round 1 minute Fill-in-the-Blank
 Clincher 30 seconds Open-ended
8. The easy round has 15 questions, the average round has 10 questions, the difficult round has 5
questions and clincher round has 3 questions.
9. The game mode is set to TEAM. Scores are grouped by team.
10. Participants can start answering the question after the Quiz Master click the “START” button.
11. Participants are not allowed to ask questions from the facilitator during the game.
12. The contestants and the Organizing Committee shall have a video conference via Google Meet.
13. All participants must be in the Google Meet room 10 minutes before 2:00 PM. If participants are
not yet in the Google Meet for 10 minutes past 2:00pm, he/she will be automatically
disqualified.
14. Participants must TURN ON their CAMERAS AT ALL TIMES. Facilitators will regularly monitor
participants’ actions during the competition..
15. Participants must secure a stable internet connection during the Live Quiz, a mobile data back-
up is encouraged.

B. Answering Mechanics

10. Each team must answer at their own pace. The first team to click the correct answer shall have
the highest coins whereas the last team to answer shall have the least coins.
11. For the multiple choice type of test, click the letter only.
12. For checkbox type of test, check the box that corresponds to the question.
13. For identification, provide a specific word on the type box. Answers that are spelled wrong are
automatically considered as wrong.
14. For open-ended question, provide the best explanation.

D. Scoring Mechanics

16. At the end of each round, the cumulative score of the pair shall be computed.
17. At the end of the contest, the pair with the highest cumulative score shall be declared the
Champion. The next two highest scored participants shall be declared as First and Second
Placers respectively.

E. Tie Breaking Mechanics

9. In case of a tie, a clincher will be asked to the teams.

Career Bazaar is a competition where the different academic-based organizations will showcase
carrers aligned to their programs. This will prepare participants in their future profession.

Objectives:

1. Gain more insights and develop an appreciation in their field of interest, promoting inclusion &
accommodation among diverse population.
2. Develop knowledge on the different academic-based organizations career paths.
3. Showcase student’s creativity.
4. Market the different programs offered in La Salle University to its non-Lasallian viewers.

Mechanics:

1. All participants must be bona fide students of La Salle University officially enrolled in the 2 nd
Semester of AY 2020-2021.
2. Each organization must have a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of ten (10) participants.
Members of each organization can be all male or all female or a combination of both. . The COEs
of these participants, from the production team to the actors, must be submitted through the
organization’s respective google drive folder on or before May 19, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:59
PM.
3. The entry shall showcase creativity and originality in promoting the organization’s aligned
careers through a video presentation with a minimum runtime of two (2) minutes and a
maximum of three (3) minutes.
4. The concept of the career bazaar-ad must anchor to the theme “Our Vision. Our Passion. Our
Future”.
5. The concept of the video must be about their college represented showcasing different
programs and careers.
6. The cast may include alumni, faculty, and staff, regardless of their college affiliation to play for
small roles such as bit players, and “extra”.
7. The entry shall be produced using any digital/mobile equipment (cameras, lighting equipment,
editing software, etc.) provided by the team.
8. The entry must not be manipulated by individuals who are not bona fide students of their
college. Hiring professional services such as videographers, directors, and editors, are strictly
prohibited. Entries will be scrutinized and violating entries will be disqualified.
9. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Plagiarism in any kind will result to disqualification. If the entry
will use copyrighted materials, the owners/artists must be credited within the entry.
10. In accordance to the copyright laws, music used in any entry must be original, licensed or in the
public domain.
11. The entries shall be submitted on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday) 11:59 PM through the
organization’s respective Google drive folder.
12. The video file for the entry shall be exported to MP4 format, at least 720p resolution. The file
name should follow the format: <organization>_CAREERBAZAAR-AD.mp4 where <organization>
is the abbreviation of the organization name. For example, PICE_CAREERBAZAAR-AD.mp4.
13. The entry will be judged on May 25, 2021 and released on the official Facebook page of the
Council of Student Organizations on the same date.
14. The scores for the entry will be based according to: 70% from the judges’ scores and 30% from
the People’s Choice through Facebook reactions on May 27, 2021 11:59PM.
15. The decision of the Board of Judges is not yet final and still revocable by the League of
Tabulators. The board reserves the right not to give an award in any category should no entry

Description:
The CSOFLIX:Short Film Festival is a platform for the young Lasallian filmmakers in the different
academic-based organizations who aspire to develop their originality and creativity in storytelling
through Digital Video Technologies. It aims to produce heart-warming stories of Lasallians among
different organizations in the new normal learning modality.

Objectives:

1. Develop the students’ skills in film


2. Deliver an empowering concept of advocacies manifested in the films as vehicles for social
transformative educationMarket the University to its non-Lasallian viewers.
3. Promote awareness of students’ challenges in different programs with regarding to coping with
the new normal learning.

Mechanics:

1. All participants must be bona fide students of La Salle University officially enrolled in the 2 nd
Semester of AY 2020-2021.
2. Each organization must have only one (1) entry produced by one (1) team. There are no limits
as to the number of members in the said team. The COEs of these participants, from the
production team to the actors, must be submitted through the organization’s respective Google
drive folder on or before May 19, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:59 PM.
3. The concept of the film must anchor to the theme “Unveiling Possibilities Amidst the
Challenges”
4. Film locations must be in the actors’ own homes.
5. The entry must be produced by any digital/mobile equipment (e.g. cell phone, video cam,
camcorder, DSLR cameras) by any members of the team.
6. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Plagiarism in any kind will result to disqualification. If the entry
will use copyrighted materials, the owners/artists must be credited within the entry.
7. The entry must not be manipulated by individuals who are not bona fide students of their
organization. Hiring professional services such as videographers, directors, and editors, are
strictly prohibited. Entries will be scrutinized and violating entries will be disqualified.
8. Film entries shall not have been, in any way, commercially exhibited. “Commercially exhibited”
means any show, display or presentation intended for viewing by members of the general
public, the audience thereof being required to pay or give valuable consideration, monetary or
otherwise, in exchange for viewing the same. Such films shall be disqualified.
9. The Total Running Time (TRT) for the film entry must be a minimum of 3 minutes and a
maximum of 7 minutes including the opening and closing credits. 
10. The languages to be used shall either be English, Filipino or Cebuano or a combination of all
three.  The use of foreign languages is not prohibited as long as they are minimally used in the
entire duration and are provided with English subtitles.
11. The use of foul, explicit, and obscene cuss and cathartic expressions are strictly prohibited.
12. The film entry must not contain full nudity of any form. 
13. Subtitles are compulsory for the entire duration of the film. Subtitles should be in English and
should be readable, sizeable and recognizable. 
14. In accordance to the copyright laws, music used in any entry must be original, licensed or in the
public domain.
15. The Organizing Committee shall have the right to classify the film entries according to their
thematic presentation after the submission of the films. This is to determine the type of
audience suitable to watch the film. 

16. The above-mentioned rules and guidelines and the stipulated requirements below must be
utmost followed and be submitted according to the date and time specified.

18. The entries shall be submitted on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday) 11:59 PM on the

abbreviation of the organization name. For example, JSWAP_CSOFLIX.mp4.
20. The entry will be released on May 26, 2021 on the official Facebook page of the Council of
Student Organizations.
21. The decision of the Board of Judges is not yet final and still revocable by the League of
Tabulators. The board reserves the right not to give an award in any category should no entry
merit it and the organizers and the judging committee are not obliged to give explanation for
the results.

REQUIREMENTS:
The following requirements needed in the Film Festival shall be submitted on or before May 19, 2021
(Wednesday) until 11:59 PM.

1. PDF Document, A4-sized, with the following information:


 First page: Poster design of the Film including the Entry Title; Total Running Time (TRT);
Organization’s Name; and Director’s name. 
 Succeeding pages: Film’s Synopsis
2. Soft copy of official entry poster in JPEG/PNG format

Definition:
CSOMyx is a cover song competition. In popular music, a cover song is simply a remake. The new
performance or recording is recreated by someone other than the original artist/composer of an
‘original song’ (previously recorded song).
Objectives:

1. Provide students with a positive experience, and with tools to help them progress in the
performance of vocal music.
2. Provide good platform to gain experience in showcasing vocal ability in singing.
3. Build strong confidence and dynamic performance of the students.

Mechanics:

1. All participants must be bona fide students of La Salle University officially enrolled in the 2 nd
Semester of AY 2020-2021.
2. Each organization shall have only one entry for the competition.
3. Each organization must have 1 male or female participant.
4. The participant must use a minus one track or an instrument for the performance.
5. Participants can choose any song genre. Lyrics containing foul words should be modified.
6. All participants must submit a soft copy lyrics of their chosen songs on or before May 19, 2021
(Wednesday) 11:59 PM.
7. Pre-recorded vocals and sound effects are strictly prohibited.
8. The use of mic condenser is allowed.
9. The participant may wear any form of clothing in their video as long as it follows the policies in
the Student Handbook.
10. The video should be in a minimum of 2 minutes and a maximum of 3 minutes. The time for the
performance starts on the first note and ends with the last note. In case that a group exceeds
the time limit, the league of tabulators reserves the right to deduct their points.
11. The performance shall be filmed inside the respective homes of the participants.
22. The video entry should be at least 720p resolution, in landscape orientation, and in mp4 format.
The file name should follow the format: <organization>_CSOMYX.mp4 where <organization> is
the abbreviation of the organization name. For example, JSWAP_CSOMYX.mp4.
12. Final submission of the video entry will be on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday) 11:59 PM.
13. Judges’ decision is subject to evaluation from the league of tabulators.

Vocal Quality 40%

Musicality 30%
(melody, rhythm, dynamics)

Choice of Material 15%


Song choices fitting for their abilities

Diction 15%
Creativity & Arrangement 15%

Description:
Clash of Orgs is a presentation of performances among the officers from each organization.

Objectives:

1. Showcase the student officers’ talent despite hectic schedule of preparation for the CSO Week
2021.
2. Project enthusiasm, dedication, and zeal in the presentation to show inspiration among students
from their respective organization.

Mechanics:

1. Each entry must be composed of the officers of the Academic-Based Organizations.


2. A minimum of eight (8) officers are required to join the contest including the President.
3. Officers in the same area are allowed to perform face to face as long as minimum health
standards (face masks, physical distancing, etc.) is strictly observed while the rest must stay at
home.
4. Each entry must come up with any presentation (dance, song, drama, etc. or a combination of
those) with the minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
5. The presidents must be given a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 1 minute of
uninterrupted exhibition to showcase their personal talents.
6. Participants' certificates of enrollment (COEs) must be submitted on or before May 19, 2021
(Wednesday) 11:59 PM.
7. The performance must be video recorded.
23. The video must be in MP4 format with at least 720p resolution and landscape orientation.
24. The video must be submitted on or before May 21, 2021 (Friday) 11:59 PM.
8. The showdown must be appropriate for family viewing.
9. Wearing of the organizational shirt is encouraged.
10. There shall be no vulgar or suggestive movements, words, costuming or music in the video. It
must NOT have any foul, explicit, and obscene cussing and cathartic expressions. Abiding by the
dress code set in Student Handbook.
11. The decision of the Board of Judges is not final and still revocable by the League of Tabulators.
The board reserves the right not to give an award in any category should no entry merit it and
the organizers and the judging committee are not obliged to give explanation for the results.
