Home by Toni Morrison is a 2012 novel about Frank Money, an African-American man from

Georgia who struggles after returning from the Korean War. After receiving a letter indicating
that his sister, Cee, is in danger, Frank covertly leaves the psychiatric hospital where is he being
treated.

Beau: Joseph Robinette "Beau" Biden III was an American politician, lawyer, and officer in the Army

Frank Money: Frank Money is twenty-four years old and a veteran of the Korean War. He
receives a mysterious anonymous note telling him to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, to rescue his
sister Cee, urging him to come quickly because if he is tardy Cee might be dead before he gets
there. Frank Money, a 24-year-old African-American veteran of the Korean War, and his
journey home.

Cee, the protagonist in Home, is subjected to medical experiments conducted on her


reproductive organs. ... Beau, like Sims, used Morphine to subdue his patients to do destructive
experiments, like the kind that lead to Cee's health crisis and rendered her unable to have
children in the future.

Frank and Cee bury the dead man's bones in front of a sweet bay tree. On the sweet bay
tree, Frank nails a sign that reads, "Here Stands A Man" (145). The dead man has come to
symbolize the brutality that African Americans have experienced.

Lily: The protagonist of the novel, Lily Bart, is a beautiful young woman searching for the right
husband who will give her the money and status to remain in upper-class New York social
circles.
